    With Sam, and now the engine both back in the shop, Sam can get to disassembling the 2234cc engine that he built for the EMPI Engine Battle. Short of a spark plug that was broken when the fan exploded on the dyno, there are no real surprises and that broken plug explained why the engine was down on power on the next dyno run. All that is behind us know, so now we can pull the engine apart completely, inspect the parts, see what can be re-used, see what needs to be replaced and discuss rebuilding the engine. Enjoy the tear down and see what things we find on an engine that has very little run time. Honestly, with just a little bit of work to remove and replace the destroyed fan shroud, all the fan blades, and a spark plug, this engine could have been stuck been in car, albeit it would be down on a few cooling fins!

    Kinda sad that empi valve covers .. don't fit empi heads 😢

  • @vintage76vipergreenBeetle

    Surprised the Dyno guy pushed the engine over 6000rpm with a stock cooling fan, in the engine.

      He had a lot going on and it wasn't his dyno. When we first talked about where we wanted to run the engine, we discussed not taking it over 7k but oh well. What's done is done!

    A stock cooling fan can only handle 6500rpm right?

      @Sam_Mebane Před 14 dny +3

      If that, we don't like running a stock fan over 6000.

      @@johnwerner7194 it's is truly my pleasure. Through the ups or the downs of all of this, I thank God that I have this opportunity cause there are much worse days to make a living. I am very fortunate to get paid to do this!

    Definitely dump the Baja videos. I like the concept. Bought a ‘68 a year ago to restore with my daughter.

    I like your videos but when you used a "Crescent wrench" to crack the drain plug 😱 I know , it's a $6.00 drain plug 😁 otherwise you do good work . 👍

      Haha, thanks. The best tool for the job is whatever is close at hand...sometimes! I'd say that if this wasn't a disassembly I'd use the "right" tool, but I'd probably still have used the "all sixteenths" if it was close by.

      To true , and I have never done a "tear down " or a "engine build " video and I probably never will . Happy building brother 😎

    I think no matter what you should only offer a welded and balanced fan anyways I would never buy a cheap one I rather have an original German 1Or a welded balanced one
