Even the lowly Browns have a more recent playoff win than him. And we Get it he’s never had a losing season but when you’re the Pittsburgh Steelers we all know the standard is not above .500, it’s Super Bowl expectations. I love Chad but he just refuses to be objective, what does it matter if you don’t know the man? Nobody can hold an opinion if their name isn’t known? Ridiculous, and I’m a ravens fan. That man Tomlin is absolutely amazing. I understand in recent years it’s been rough but he’s built a strong enough culture with his guys where he can take a subpar roster and make the playoffs. As long as that man is at the helm, the Steelers are in the conversation. Sure they might get bounced first round but context is key. Bens last few years he had no O line and Matt Canada. Then they draft a big wimp in Kenny Pickett, while the rest of their team was ready to compete. Tomlin tried to do rught by pickett but unfortunately that kid did not have what it took to be a leader of a team. Watch what happens this year, as much as it pains me to say it, they’re gonna be really good. Arthur Smith fits what they want to do on offense, and that defense is absolutely stacked. They also have not 1 but 2 viable QB options and can do a multitude of different things with the both of them. And they’re both playing for dirt cheap. Give coach Tomlin and the Steelers front office their flowers while they’re here, Steelers fans.

    Everyone likes to bring up how Tomlin never had a sub-.500 regular season record but talk to me about that 3-8 playoff record in the past 12-13 years. People have no problem killing QBs over their performances in the playoffs (Lamar, Dak, Cousins, Rodgers) or coming after certain coaches for poor decision making in the playoffs (Shanahan, Harbaugh, Mccarthy) but somehow Tomlin always gets a pass for this. Reminder that Tomlin had a HOF QB for nearly ever year he's been in Pittsburgh, he was involved in selecting Kenny Pickett to replace Big Ben and he had AB, Juju and Martayvis Bryant as his WR trio for a minute too.
    Just for the record: Mike Mccarthy had around a 60% win rate in the regular season and about a 55% win rate in the post-season while in Green Bay and everyone killed him for not being able to win another ring. Tomlin has a similar regular season win rate and around a 45% win rate in the post-season and the last time he made it to a Super Bowl he lost to *checks notes* Mike Mccarthy...

    I’m a huge Steelers fan and I swear I’ve grown to resent a huge part of the fans because they’re so spoiled and have zero idea how special Tomlin is. There’s only a small number of teams in the NFL that wouldn’t give Tomlin a blank check to coach their team. My response is always, what’s a better coach out there that’s available and guaranteed to replace him and bring a ring? To do better? And it’s just silence and no response every time. The good news is, there is no real hot seat. The people that could fire him do not want him gone. It’s just angry fans. Usually guys in their mid 40’s and 50’s that just complain about everything, so it doesn’t actually matter. He’s going nowhere.

Omar has them going in the right direction. To me Colbert not embracing newer aspects of talent evaluation held us back and not having a clear succession plan for Ben's departure messed us up. @unc54 Před 13 dny

      The elephant in the room is he hasn't won a playoff game since Obama was President. And in 2020 the Steelers were a 12 win team and got rinsed by the Browns of all teams in the playoffs. And even if you want to talk about the team he had with the triple Bs, that team only made one conference championship where they got pummelled by the Patriots.

    • @bobuchanan161
      @bobuchanan161 Před 13 dny

      @unc54 I got time today.
      1. You are right. We haven't won a playoff game, that where it matters the most.
      2. That 2020 team was fraudulent at best and had several holes in it. Their run game was a short passing game. By week 8, most team had them figured out, and by week 13, they were a mess. That was the last year Big Ben was Big Ben.
      3. With the triple B you've got me their. We should have at least 2 super bowls with that roster alone. However, ego were their Demise.
      In back to my point. We have seen this man do more with less in the last 4 years, than any other head coach. If you gave him the Cowboys, eagles, bills, browns, Ravens, or any other top 10 teams. He is winning a super bowl.
