- How good can our in-the-works Project Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally Raid be on a motocross track? Let's find out.
My friend Deepesh Jina, who has been riding at the dirt track for the last 8-9 months, takes a bash at the Himalayan 450 - the only rule is no jumps and take it slightly easy. We don't want to push very hard right now, just get an idea on how the bike is performing and where all we need to make tweaks.
You can follow the entire build here: • Himalayan 450
If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below and I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities.
I hope you have a nice day.

Rider was riding it like if it's extension of his own body . He controlled this beast so perfectly . And kudos to you and Ajey too , you guys did great job .
Thanks
HOLY!!!!
I would have flown off on the first turn.
skilled rider loved every bit of the video

Great guys, nice to see Himalayan 450 riding like this and I very much appreciate you are doing this in a right place with right riders and with safety so thank for that. We need to build a good and responsible image for our Indian biking community and these kind of videos help a lot in that direction.
Great video Sir! Can’t wait for the 450 to arrive in 🇺🇸
It would make a great BDR bike for you guys.
@@abhinavbhatt Totally agree!
Really cool to see both the 1st and 3rd person POV. Nice work!
Thanks
That bike makes a wonderful racket at idle,i love it! Sounds cool in motion too
Great stuff man
Good one bro, I was expecting few jumps because the trained rider was on bike, but those corners are crazy. Awaiting for the next video.
Need to make a few changes to the bike before we can even think of jumping it. Next video may take a couple of weeks.
@@abhinavbhatt understood ☺️ good luck brother
Very impressive!
Thanks
Hi need a viewer perspective video on this but man this was a great video anxiety level was high 😍😍
Following you since R15 build up videos
Finally, the waiting is over!
Bahut wait krwate ho sir aap😅 pr videos informative hote h ❤
Hey Abhinav was there any tappet noise or engine head noise on this bike after it started heating? The 1000 km odd run test bikes had a faint pinging noise that the 390 adventures test ride bike did not have inspite of 13000 km on the clock. Will this engine be as reliable as the 373 cc unit?
since you are gonna use it so roughly it is gonna fall for sure and I wonder what's gonna protect the tank from getting a dent when the bike falls.
i m a new subscriber. good luch AB
This new engine looks promising
This bike seems to be highly capable! I was wondering the amount of load on the suspensions! It is a really good motorcycle!
Anxiety level🥵🥶🥶🥵
Unreal.
you guys can change the telescopic fork suspension.
get a drone to film the run , maybe chase the bike around with it, it would look awesome imo. Great content !
I am proud of you. True inspiration.
Already this bike has high Center of Mass, removing major weight from lower parts, could lead to unexpected throw... how are the riding dynamics changing?
Where to get this seat from?
Is there any difficulty not being able to grip the tank well with the knees while standing and riding in the track or off-road trail?
No. On this bike, you grip the seat and not the tank. Try not letting your knees go ahead of your lower legs.

Please put the tyre review after use
Nice but dangerous windshield hitting the cam. Would probably hurt the rider too. Quite a noisy rear end apparently, I don't know why. Would have been cool to see more with different camera views: table jumps and all.
Keep going for the good job, 8t is an exciting experiment and that 452 seems to be so much better than the 411 almost everywhere.
Full on comparison with Xpulse please. Dirt, Trails, Beginners stairway to offroad, Touring, Easy of keeping, maintaining, Customisation
I'll try.
Please a request I really want to look at the bike in depth can you post some pics on your social media handle or something.
Motorcross track ? Just looks like a typical Indian main road to me. The bike sounds like its going to explode !
🤯😵🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥
Between this and the KTM 390 which would you prefer?
Himalayan
Bro pls complete the v3 project🖤
Hey, bro big fan from Kerala.. I began watching your videos years ago while you were still doing that R15V3 project.., and I'd love to know the whereabouts and updates on that bike.. please consider th3 request.
Will do soon
@@abhinavbhatt Thank you bro, hoping to see it soon...😇
@@abhinavbhattthanks
Please INVITE @SAGAR SHELDEKAR To try it out and his camera man for the shoot. It will be a huge blast. 🙏🙏🙏
Some owners are reporting tapet and timing chain noises in the new himalayan. What's your take on it?
There were some faint noises. I didn't pay attention to them.
Hope this will be fixed in 2nd service.
@@abhinavbhattplease convey this to RE, I owned a 411 and faced this issue after which I sold it, could never regain confidence to take it on tour due to the noise. Unhappy to see this on the 450 too!
Any chain sprocket upgrades?
Not yet.
@@abhinavbhatt want to see some real performance upgrades like 5 speed gears from existing 6 speed and final gear ratios👍🏻
@@abhinavbhattDidn't you go up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket?
@@JH09SUMIT I will. Still being made.
How accurate is the 164 kg figure??
You can see in this video how managable it is compare to xpulse 🤷🏻♂️
I am disappointed you did not jump, or where you afraid the foot pegs would break off. 😁
This bike is not being built for jumping.
I know, would have been interesting though. @@abhinavbhatt
Bro be doing aaaaaaaaa !! All the time.
What's the weight now and I feel that, the windshield doesn't make any sense it can be removed too !!
164 kg dry. I want to keep the windscreen as it is being developed as a rally bike.
Dry? Without petrol and engine oil?
@@how-2465 yes.
I was waiting for the rider to jump the bike all through the video, alas dint happen
I asked him not to.
ECU remapping Krne ka kya plan h ?
Soon
Both bikes are equally capable...But new Himi is way much overpowered for xpulse.
Sir we want you to ride like this..😅
Sir, above my skill level.
Himalayan on an mx track, that make sense.
Where is this track
Gurgaon Faridabad Road.
This bike has so many issues & even depending on bike to bike, issues getting change. This khatara manufacturing company couldn't even make one fine machine even after so many years...
I felt that he was not that comfortable with the 21 inch front, he was struggling to keep the lines tidy.
He rides an XPulse. He is very comfortable with a 21 inch wheel.
I noticed he wasn’t making the turns from inside, was it intentional or is this an issue with the weight and turning radius of the bike?
He likes to hit the berms.
And he forgot to ask the rider thoughts about the bike.
Have you contacted Royal Enfield and told them to make a lightened / rally version? seems obvious!
I believe they are working on one.
@@abhinavbhatt I haven't had a motorycle in years; had a ninja 250 2009-2011. It was fun but I was in a cold climate, in town, where bicycling and busing made more sense at the time. Now I'm back in my home area and plan to live around rural to city where motorcyces are nice to ride. I'm in the US. It seems it will be a while before we see the 2024 Himalayan? Most people here have the 2023 listed as the new model still, and I think it's hard to justify paying nearly the same for the previous model Himalayan now that the new one has twice as much power. I'm considering waiting for the new one, or buying a used BMW g650gs; maybe the Sertao version 650gs; thouhts on that ? a used sertao vs. a new Himalyan? I kind of like the look of the Himalyan more to be honest.
My toxic trait is thinking i could do that 😂
Yaar you really need a good mic
starts to look like a propper dirt bike.... 🙂
I can´t hear anything
Was your motor cross friend too scared to actually ride it on the motor cross track?
You could ride a Honda supercub ct125 on the same line that he rode on, avoiding all jumps, riding around the outside of the track only
I said no jumps and have to take it easy. The idea is to just figure out whether the build is heading in the right direction or not.
@@abhinavbhatt oh ok well apologies then, it was difficult to hear what you were saying
@@Beer_goggles cheers
Not riding the motocross track.... riding around the outside of a motocross track. Riding a motocross track involves jumping which the Himalayan is not made for.
What's the Himalayan is specifically made for? Want to know
@@vasansb Roads, backroads and mild trail riding.
@whileistillcan9338 - I know this is semantics but I think by saying “motorcross track” he’s referring to the location, the venue.
And not sure if you read the vid description or not but he specifically says regarding this track ride: “…the only rule is no jumps and take it slightly easy.”
And while the Himalayan will never be on the same calibre as a purpose-built moto-x machine, that’s not really what he’s after here. Once he’s done all his mods, I’m sure it will be able to withstand some smaller jumps.
This ass hole machine is to aggressive 👊I bought one❤❤
