It's funny to think that with all the extra bosses we've had recently, ranging from a youkai stronger than the rest to super powerful gods It all started with a tank.
As much as Touhou likes to keep itself fresh with new villains, I really think Rika has the potential to be a great antagonist for the series as a whole. She doesn't have anything to do with the incident Reimu is trying to resolve in Touhou 2 but still attacks her anyway, and then comes back for one final showdown in the extra stage, so she's certainly got a grudge against the protagonist. Also, in a world where most of the characters naturally have this incredible power, someone who tries to harness that power artificially using tanks would be a good antithesis to that. It's a shame that ZUN and Shanghai Alice won't even acknowledge the PC-98 era in recent games, because there is some really good stuff here.

Rika doesn't just LOOK like Madotsuki. There are other similarities as well. Rika knows she's in a game, and Mado knows she's dreaming. Evil Eye Sigma looks like a creature Madotsuki would find in her dream world. The name of her theme is also "The Tank Girl's Dream", and Yume Nikki means "Dream Diary." So either ZUN can predict the future, or KIKIYAMA was inspired by ZUN. Or maybe it's just the weirdest coincidence ever.
I based my Stage 4 boss Petrina Mizorauma off features from Yume Nikki. Her eyes are always closed, & she has the ability to manipulate parallel realities created by others where she dreams in. Both Petrina & her 'guest' know it's a dream, but she could keep them trapped there for centuries if she wants. She also has something on her top which resembles that black & white thing on Madotsuki. Her abilities has some really unusual effects when done on Shikieiki; Petrina is very cautious around a Yama, (she knows just how powerful a Yama is.)

Incorrect. "Reploid" is short for "Replicated Android", implying that X is an android. Even more so, Sigma wasn't the first Reploid either, as he was created to be the commander for the Iregular Hunters, a police force dedicated to the capture and subsequent repair of buggy Reploids, as the first attempts to replicate X's neural network were shoddy at best (Remember, Dr. Cain was an archeologist before he was a roboticist.) "Are ZUN and Nintendo secret friends who take ideas from each other?" I honestly wouldn't doubt it. There's a character in Breath of the Wild who's called Saki. She even has wings! (But that's because she's a Rito) ALTHOUGH, I remember hearing somewhere that "Tebasaki" meant chicken wings in Japanese and she has a husband called Teba, soooooo.....
Evil Eye Sigma was a nightmare to beat... Fine. The Extra Stage is not so hard once you see how to beat it. But the boss is Absol-ute pain. It´s truly a long and fierce battle. P.S: I defeated the Evil Eye Sigma three times (one with each Shoot Mode). Before that, I beat the main story three times on Lunatic the same way.
First you create you. Then out of you occurs the environment. Within the environment can be control. By that way, within you control can become. Control of oneself creates understanding of one's weakness(es). Understanding of one's weakness creates knowledge of methodology to reverse weakness, creating strength. Inby reversing weakness to strength, one creates a greater power altogether... Knowing this, one could potentially find "like"-kind in need of this tool as one once had needed. Would not it be insufficient to say that one could teach another the methodologies that helped one discover self as a being able to be part of another's environment? Consider pitting two eternally reproducing entities together to assist one-another in developing their weaknesses into strengths. Then consider also that the more entities added into this unique approach or "programming", the ever-exponentially-more one could discover in pursuit of self-developement. Imagine further the depth an amass of eternally reproducing entities discovering self pit together to aid eachother in developing self weakness into self strength that could be produced. This theme sparks something in me.. Always up and down, ever-repetitive. What left could one be to have done as being done now, forever? (p.s.: might I add that if one does listen closer, you might find that there is a continual up and down theme at many depths. One section of instrumental is going up and down at this rate while another instrumental is going up and down at that rate, independent of one-another yet still interconnected harmoniously to create a brilliant theme, each piece chaoticly up and down, ever-eternal.)
Solid. The intro is my favorite part because it's kind of pretty, but then the theme gets kind of repetitive but alright. (Good Akyuu's Untouched Score upgrade as usual, btw. Always better than the original)
Doesn't Sigma look A LOT like Oxygen from Kirby 64? They're both eyes, the blood tear on Oxygen looks a bunch like Sigma's Sigma symbol, they both have halos... The only thing really setting them apart is Oxygen has big hands, floats, and makes you play a sort of Jump Rope To The Death, and Sig has... leafy things, two tentacles, and bat wings, and is part of this legendary shmup.

Rika's one of my favorite PC-98 characters, though I doubt ZUN will bring her back, as the PC-98 games aren't cannon, and ZUN hasn't even brought back Mima ;;
i'm sorry because of her sadface at stage 1. i almost can't endure the pain
They are canon; ZUN has even said unless explicitly said otherwise in another game they are canon.
Hell there's even things like Alice flat-out remembering Reimu in PCB...
@@raikaria3090 also Yuuka's dialouges with reimu and Marisa in PoFV, and the fact that reimu and marisa were both familiar with Makai. and many mentions within print works
Old and New Touhou is like the Old and New testaments of the Bible.
Everything in the old is perfectly valid unless it is contradicted by something from the new
Hence, Rika exists in Touhou canon but Reimu has black hair and never had purple hair.
@@moritamikamikara3879 Reimu had purple hair in old Touhou because of PC-98 hardware limitation didn't allow black color in character design. Same reason why Marisa wore purple witch robe in old Touhou.
The Tank Girl's Dream ~ Till When?
The Tank Girl's Dream ~ Sigma Eye Robot
Sorry this eye looks like robot eye ._.
The beginning sounds a lot like Maniacal Princess.
There’s a reverb to the version in the actual game’s piano part that I think makes it even better...
It sounds like Flandre's theme if you listen to it right.
Nah, it sounds like Suwako's Final Spell Card theme from 'soku, mostly the intro.
Oh, also sounded like Flowering Night, one of Sakuya's themes, for me in the intro. Guess I never heard Suwako's Last word theme from Hisoutensoku.
*it sounded like
Ah yes. 02 from Kirby before he even existed
Because Evil Eye Σ came first!
SoEW release date: August 15, 1997
Kirby 64 release date: March 24, 2000
HRtP was also released the August 15, 1997
@@rinnosukemorichika1196 Both released the same time, yeah. TH1 is called TH1 just because it's not the same type of gameplay at all so it would be confusing af to call it TH2.
@@pokemonkarma I already know and SoEW is clearly a sequel to HRtP
it's a fucking TANK
HOLD ON A SECOND
Now that i think about it, give Oxygen and Sigma's similarity... Marx seems to have some sort of danmaku about him... Will there be a Koubou someday?
Rika created her own version of dark matter WTF :0
its fair game. i makde sure that spell is low powered enough for guns to match it in power. But this is a mini missle launcher, dispite the name. It just packs more of a punch. Standard Move "Stardust Shooter"
usually when i think of Touhou, i don't think tanks so much
but what do i know, i haven't really dug into Touhou so much, other than reading the wiki and watching some vids here and there
Shou Toramaru well, welcome. (: You got alot to take in, just hope you have enough brain space to learn
welcome to the Pc-98 era.
Congrats on passing 1/3 of this lesson on Toehoe: knowing the tanks of 2hu (the rest is useless you want to know about Seihou)
the intro of this song reminds me a little bit of kotohime's theme intro
I think I found the inspiration for Zero Two now....are ZUN and Nintendo secret friends who take ideas from each other? If that were to be true then I would die from happiness knowing that my two favorite video game makers/companies are best buddies
It also looks like Magolor Soul.
+TheGoomba98 Vaati?
Clownpiece Holy crap, you're right.
***** So Evil Eye Sigma= Zero Two= Magolor Soul= Vaati?
"Are ZUN and Nintendo secret friends who take ideas from each other?"
I honestly wouldn't doubt it. There's a character in Breath of the Wild who's called Saki.
She even has wings! (But that's because she's a Rito)
ALTHOUGH, I remember hearing somewhere that "Tebasaki" meant chicken wings in Japanese and she has a husband called Teba, soooooo.....
Rika sure was a completely different woman before she became part of Paldea's Elite Four... ;D
@BioBen9250 I know. It makes it more awesome that she went ahead in power that quickly.
Tank Girl huh?
I'm now assuming that Rika is wearing an armored skirt.
Ice 487 Rika wears pants...
That's one ΣVIL contraption.
It's Zero Point Five!
Kirby's Dream Land Three: November 27, 1997
that's just sak-
The this round is over*Flies off using dragon wings"
Rika broke the 4th wall.
Yep. I thinks you got it.
This kinda feels like a prototype of Flowering Night
"Small fry from level one"
-Reimu, 1996
Solid. The intro is my favorite part because it's kind of pretty, but then the theme gets kind of repetitive but alright.
(Good Akyuu's Untouched Score upgrade as usual, btw. Always better than the original)
I am so Sigma in skibidi rika of gyatt of Touhou Fuumaroku
Never speak again
OMG! CP DEVIL WHAT HAS THEY DONE TO YOU?!
I'm starting to think of kotohime's theme =w=
Rika and her amazing Evil Eye ΣΙΓΜΑ (Sigma).
**** come on let me beat the damn game already, I want to face her already and I want to beat the Special stage....
2/3 done xD
yay, beat it yesterday ^.^ Damn, she was scary
@@CarmsCelestia nice! I just unlocked the extra stage yesterday, i haven't beat it yet though.
@@agirlandherdrone6987 Good luck!
@@CarmsCelestia thanks!
Now you get why Yume Nikki is so haunting.
It even creeps in games that came out BEFORE it!
If I'm sure my calendar is correct, August comes BEFORE November.
I just noticed, she kinda has Scooby Doo eyes in this pic. :p
What about in PCB Extra stage when Reimu broke it:
"It was nothing special. I mean, she's still a Stage 2 boss after all."
Still, his name is 0², Zero Squared, or as most call him, Zero Two, regardless of what you think it looks like.
This rika is better than Mystic Messenger's Rika (:
Very true.
Defending the honor of my beliefs is my reason to keep going.
I have. And I plan to use the correllation to *spoiler* and *spoiler* the *spoiler*!!!
She looks like: 'yo', I'll leave this to you: EVIL EYE SIGMA!
Simga: Target locked. Assesing power values. Uploading programs 1,2,3, Beta. Operation confirmed. Engaging.
Hmph. I was trying to be fair...However, if you're getting reinforcements....Heh heh....then i'll have to use full power!
@FriendGuardStudios Um...has five fingers in this picture. If you look really carefully, you'll see that the pinky's cut off.
Technically oxygen.
Madotsuki??..
Ohhh noo
I gotta say, Sigma looks real pretty in that dress
Im just gonna call this MechaZero2-Sigma
This sounds like a minor key Fukkiret. (Yes I know this came out wayyy before Kasane Teto)
Last I checked, there was a difference between the letter O and the number 0...
I think this game came out 3-4 years before Kirby 64. Now I know the origin of 02, the origin of Sigilyph from Pokemon BW versions and onward.
i wonder, who would win this battle: Rika or Nitori?
Rika
Rika
02 right there
look guys its 02!
Eehhh. Beginning sounds like Flowering Night.
Great now she made zero 2.0
Zero 3 looking good
