- I watched a number of videos showing different ways to un-stick a jeep wrangler door but all of them looked too crazy to me! Here's a way to remove stuck doors off your JK jeep wrangler easily
Hope this helps! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Dude life saver!!! I used to unbolt the door from the body and that took almost 30-45 mins while a friend holding the door. Finally got my lazy ass up and did it this way but instead of hammering the pins ; I took a interchangeable screwdriver and stuck it inside the hole; and used a rubber hammer with Wd40 and bam doors popped out. Whole process took 10-13 mins. Awesome!!
I know this is old, but I was so frustrated until I found this video. Just bought a 2014 that never had rear doors removed. This trick worked with a little effort! Thank you for posting!!!!
Thanks for the great video, however, I would suggest you use an old rag behind the hammerhead or wrap the hammerhead with a rag so NOT to accidentally scratch or ding the door.
You looked pleased as punch when you were holding the door at the end ! Thanks for the advice, we have a 2000 TJ and I’ve been aching to get our doors off but they won’t budge! Will definitely try this method!
Used your tip today removing my doors from my JKU. Three came off fairly easy, one didn’t want to move at all....then I remembered your video, worked like a charm ! Thanks!! I replaced the metal door liners with a set of Delrin liners. Great advise, thanks again!
By far, best and most useful video on this issue. Doors came right off. Thanks
My Jeep was 14 months old before I tried to remove the doors. The driver door was not coming off. This method worked as shown in this video. The passenger door was hardly used in all that time and came off easily, go figure.
I think the trick is to only tap the bolt just enough to make a space to spray your lube. That way you don't risk fucking up the threads.
Excellent tip. This is the way to go. I struggled getting the doors off my brand new Jeep. The back doors were the worst, they wouldn’t budge. I’d recommend holding a piece of thin cardboard up against the door while hammering to avoid scratching the paint. Lube the pins/hinges up good and the doors will come right off next time. Keep them maintained with grease or anti-seize lubricant.
You are the man!! i saw all the other videos like you said and i said there's no way I'd do that. With your video, it took me not even 5 min. Thank you, you saved me a ton of headaches!!!!
I'm glad I found this. This method really helped me get my doors off so that I could replace the bushings. Thank you so much.!!
BEST, MOST INTELLIGENT demo yet...
The best explanation I have seen so far! My jeep doors came off with ease! Thank you dear Sir!
I agree with +Ellis Sanders. 19 year old TJ and the doors were off in 15 mins. Much easier than any other suggestions I have found and worked perfectly! Thanks!!!!
Thank you Joe! I've been really struggling with getting my doors off for the longest time. Your method worked perfectly for me.
It wasn’t easy because my doors were realllyyyy stuck on there, but it worked! Thanks!
Not only did you make it look easy but you saved me from hacking my doors off!
Thanks for this simple, straight forward way to get the doors unstuck. Easiest way for sure. Best video suggestion I found. Thanks again!
This worked great! Haven't had my doors off in probably 5 or 6 years, and they were definitely stuck! Took about a half hour, and I used Blaster brand lubricant. Just be patient, they will eventually come off. Hammer a little, make some space in the hinge, then blast it with lube. Keep swinging the doors, and pretty soon when you are about to give up... you'll try to lift it one more time, and they are off! I would agree about the other commentors to wrap a towel around your mallet. And don't be afraid to wack it good. Just make sure if you have the bottom nut on a good 10-12 turns so it doesn't mess up your threads. Thanks for a great video. Good Luck everyone!
Good tip! Thanks!
I was so glad to find this video! It was a simple and easy solution. Who knew the cap screwed to the pin!! So much easier than trying to reach the pin with a screwdriver! I added a little WD-40 for extra help and tapped the hinge with the door open at different angles. The doors easily came off. Thanks for the great tip!!!
Thank you!!!! It was stuck, tried a few things and said 'Wait - don't continue - you're gonna break something. (Little did I know how close I was to seriously damaging the inside pin!) Your simple, but very effective solution did it. Putting the bolts back on and hammering them up gave me gap I needed to put in more lubrication to eventually get the doors off (swinging back / forth and upward lift). Hint - if you are replacing the linings (as I was) carefully chisel the lip of the existing lining off and using the lining removal tool - hammer down from the top rather than from the bottom up as normally directed. MUCH EASIER!
I bought a used Jeep 3 days ago and wanted to take the doors off. I was so sad but I foubd your video. I had been trying different things for about a half hour. After using your method I got them off in 10 minutes. Thank you!
P.S. I found if they are REALLY stuck, holding the top of the door with your hand while kind of squatting under the door and using your thighs to push up the door was stronger than using my arms alone. I'm tall enough to do it and this might be harder for shorter people but I found my legs were much stronger and it didn't hurt my hands and arms as much
Took my doors off for the first time tonight. First 3 came off with no problems. Couldn’t get the last one off so I watched this video and did exactly what he shows. I held a small piece of cardboard against the door so I wouldn’t damage the paint and shot some WD40 in the gap. The door came right off....
After pulling every muscle in my back I went to CZcams and found your video. You sir, are a damn genius!!!! A million thank you’s!
Just the ticket to remove sticky doors! Worked like a charm...just keep at it. A word of caution though..make sure that when you start lifting the door by banging on the torx nut that you have the door open far enough to prevent the door from rubbing up on the bottom of the fixed Jeep door hinge. I scraped a bit of paint off before realizing what happened. Mopar "Crush" touch up paint applied and we're good to go!

Craig Goble good point thanks
Worked good for me - but you still need to be patient -- also swing the door back and forth as you do it and be careful not to let it hit the front of the jeep.. *slow swinging helps plenty*
hollllllly crap! I have stuck doors too and I've always thought that putting a jack under my door even with styrofoam between was risky! I am so glad I found this video.....I will be trying this tomorrow!
Tried a lot of different methods, this is the one that got the job done. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks dude! You just saved my marriage!! Apparently, someone forgot to put the lock bolts on last summer- causing the doors to stick this year.
BRO. Thank you for sharing your genius with the world. Two year old jeep, so not much time for rust to deteriorate the threads and soften them. I put WD-40 in all the hinges, let it set for a few minutes, and moved the doors around (open, then closed, wiggled around). I gave them a few hits, and they popped right off (full strength was never used). I didn't have a mallet handy, so I covered a wrench with an old shirt and it got the job done.
Worked for me! I used a piece of 2×4 and hit it with a mallet. Took about 30 hits and then it moved enough to loosen. Make sure the door is open.
Great Job, your tutorial helped me and saved me from most likely have a stroke....😂😂
Rest assure, the neighbors are happy the cursing and screaming from my garage. I mean tha dog even went back to the house.
So my friend, you a a gentleman and a scholar... 🫵😎
Thank you! worked well. Liquid wrench to loosen and your technique to open it up. Yes i thought a jack might damage something. Great video
Awesome. Am fixing to try this. Thanks for posting this.
EDIT: Worked great. I totally recommend this method. Be sure to use cardboard behind the screw you’re striking. 🇺🇸
Thank you sir for this quick tutorial. Your method worked 1st attempt. I had been trying for about 30 min until I gave up and did some searching.
That was perfect !!! My rear doors were stuck . Thanks so much for sharing.
Worked perfectly we just bought an 08 and its never had the doors off this trick did the job perfectly thanx!!!
It worked on one of our doors and I was just as pleased as you when it did! Thank you!
Thanks Joe! By far the best way to get my stuck doors off. Would not put a jack under the door. Also replacing the hinge bushings now with TMR Customs door hinge liners. Dont plan on having this issue ever again.
Thank you, I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a week
Thank you, Joe, great video. God bless you and your ministry.
Thank you so much! I was struggling the last hour with mine!
I also have a 2012 JK and got the same problem as you... Will try this tomorrow. Thank you for the help!
It worked! One of ours was really stuck...
Worked perfectly. My doors were on for a few years and all the other methods looked way too difficult. A few whacks and it was good.
I'm a lady jeeper since 2011 and have trouble almost every summer. This worked thanks. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
👌🏽 perfect. Short sweet and to the point! Thanks, can't wait to get my stuck doors off! 😂
Great fix. I needed that! Thanks Joe
Thanks! That worked. I had to pivot the door back and forth while lifting and it eventually lifted off. I didn't spray it. Also, I agree that you should not use a jack or an over head lift. You can damage your door.
This IS the video to watch - works great !!! Thanks
I’m glad I looked at the second suggestion for stuck jk doors. Thank you!
Nice! You scared the hell out me with that hammer. Definitely should protect the paint.
I’m trying mine tomorrow! Thanks for the info!
Thx for this informative video. I will definitely try this first thing tomorrow. Take care and stay safe! Happy motoring
Best video I've seen, using that jack is scary. Lol
This was the only thing that helped me get my two rear doors off. Still took 45 mins for one but it worked. Thank you. PB Blaster and a 4 lb sledge and time to soak in.
I did use cardboard between the pin and hammer. When space opened up, I would spray PB Blaster and have a rag to catch the overspray and drips. Also had rag under the bolts to catch drips.
Worked perfectly! Thanks so much for the video!
Very good tutorial! I will try it hopefully it will work out for me too! Thanks for sharing!
By far the easiest and best way to do it
This worked amazing. Thanks for the tip. I ended up using a piece of cardboard against the door to prevent from being my wacked with the hammer.
Best video ever!!! Thank you so much.
Best video awesome information was able to remove my doors in a matter of minutes
Thanks for posting! Exactly what I needed!
Looks like you figured it out!! Good job. Thanks...
It works!!! Jacking the door not working. It jacks my Jeep up instead of door :( . Thanks a lot for sharing!!!
Worked like a charm! Thanks
Thanks, this saved me a major headache! Good vid
Many thanks for the info! Bought my first Jeep late last fall and, now that it's finally warm in Ohio, I tried to remove the doors. No-go. It's an '01 with only 69K and I don't think the doors have even been off. Garage kept and very well care for, so I'm sure the doors just need some persuasion. Can't wait to try your technique so I an cruise in the open air!! Thanks again, sir.
This worked! Thank you so much my friend.
Thank you. Worked liked a charm.
Worked perfectly for me! Thanks
About to try it, thanks for this videos so helpful👍
Very good video!
this is an old trick to loosen bolts that are frozen in place. The small taps will break the threads loose again. always make sure to have 3 or 4 full threads and it will be perfectly fine, not enough threads and it will be a mess to fix.
This worked for me, thank you so much
Thx man! Worked perfectly 👍
I used a piece of thick cardboard behind the nut when I hammered.
Thanks a million!!! Worked like a charm!!
Glad you made that video, did not want to wreck my GF jeep lol. Thanks for sharing.
thank you couldn't get ours off! they have been on for 10 years... did your trick and they popped off!
this helped so much today ty i have a 2016 jeep and they were stuck so ty
Worked great thank you!
Thank you very much, this method works like a charm.
This worked! Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Worked great.
Thank you, this did the trick!
Great demonstration!
thank god i found this, i did not want to hoist or jack my door up!
This video is awesome and work wonders thank you
Your the man, thanks!
Will have to try it mine are stuck as well. Thanks for the video
Thank you sir!! You saved my day!!!
Thank you - worked perfectly!
Common sense will always prevail good one going to try on my stuck back doors
This worked perfectly, thank you!
This worked...thank you !!
Thanks Joe - worked for me...
Thank you this worked in seconds!
Need to go try this
Worked great. I was careful and it did the trick!
Glad this helped so many... did not help with my rear doors.
THANK YOU! Such a better way to get them off then potentially denting the bottom of the door with a jack
Yep, wish I had seen this before I made myself crazy but this same idea came to me after I went on to something else. Mine were only stuck on the rear but man they were stuck! It took a bit longer for mine to release and a couple more applications of wd40. Oh, and I DID hit the paint on one side... more than once! Nothing a little touch up paint won't fix.... but still.... Anyways, it's great this video is up for those who are struggling with their doors. Think I would've had it a bit easier had I used heavier hammer also, not so many swings ie, chances to smack your body or doors. 👍🏻👍🏻
This did work for me as well but it did take some time. I just kept banging and spraying WD40 along with a few rest periods in between as it can be frustrating. I have a 2012 and the doors have never been off. Also realized i need to buy new door hinge liners now as well.
You make it look so easy; but 20 minutes later and still no luck !
Love it. Thank you.
