Might get hate for this but to me it’s like when I was younger and Naruto first came out and got to watch it every week on tv. To me it’s more adult focused like as in the kids who grew up watching “anime” it’s targeted for them. The art style they use and music just all goes together so well. Ufotable has done an amazing job with everything imo, can’t wait to continue watching this current arc/season but it also sucks to know it’s gonna end soonish and gonna have to wait a year or 3 for the next arc. Just has so much detail put into the story and characters. It’s kinda “mainstream” now but still an amazing show and that doesn’t change anything. Tanjiro engraved that smell in his memory since it was related to his family's tragedy, and so even after those 2+ years, he remembered it, and once he smelled it, he immediately knew it had to be the same person. While I'm not sure about Muzan falling in love with a mortal woman and her child, I could see that they could have a close enough relationship to be spared in some ways (like she doesn't know, or pretends not to know due to self-preservation, that he's the Bowser-level boss of demons, or was able to say something about caring for sickly people or something that could have helped Muzan spare her and her daughter).
From what little I've heard about the manga, Muzan's human family doesn't seem to another appearance, I think? (Unless the author mentioned something did happen to them in an interview somewhere.)

@@chongwillson972 that’s kinda what I figured that’s why I was saying “if the kid was his” kinda thing, haven’t read the manga but have watched alot of videos about the show cuz they have done an amazing job with the show. Might get hate for this but to me it’s like when I was younger and Naruto first came out and got to watch it every week on tv. To me it’s more adult focused like as in the kids who grew up watching “anime” it’s targeted for them. The art style they use and music just all goes together so well. Ufotable has done an amazing job with everything imo, can’t wait to continue watching this current arc/season but it also sucks to know it’s gonna end soonish and gonna have to wait a year or 3 for the next arc. Just has so much detail put into the story and characters. It’s kinda “mainstream” now but still an amazing show and that doesn’t change anything. Definitely excited for Muzan’s final fight, kinda wish we got to see tanjiro and kanao grow older together even if it was only a couple episodes. Kinda like Naruto and Hinata in boruto(even tho boruto sucks) just to finish the show on a high note and notice how good everyone is doing and not just see/Learn about there great grandchildren. The only other person capable of that was Tanjiro's teacher who was the previous water hashira since he had the same smelling senses, but I don't know if he ever stumbled upon anything related to Muzan. Even if he could smell a stench, he wouldn't know it was Muzan's. Only that it was some demon's at best, or simply a city's foul odour at worst. Tanjiro engraved that smell in his memory since it was related to his family's tragedy, and so even after those 2+ years, he remembered it, and once he smelled it, he immediately knew it had to be the same person. Perhaps his adrenaline kicked in and allowed him to precisely pinpoint who it belonged to. It still might be a bit of a stretch, but I don't find it completely bullshit. If it progresses the story, I'm fine with it

I’m convinced that Muzan has a family not only to blend in with human society, but to make his breath not repulsive. Thousands of years of built up bacteria and old food bits would make anyone’s breath smell rotten, and it’s even worse if it is raw flesh and you know it’s human.
