- A comedian who crashed the Chanel catwalk scrambling on to the stage and joining the models was confronted by supermodel Gigi Hadid who ushered her away from the Paris show on Tuesday. The catwalk invader, who goes by the name Marie Benoliel on social media, was wearing a monochrome tweed suit and strutted seemingly undetected by security

Yeah ofcourse they worked incredibly hard to learn the cat walk, it is such a challenge to accomplish the best possible cat walk. To hell with those who waste away working their asses off to get through medical school or law school, studying for years and covering endless shifts. However unlike these "hard worked' models, the occupational practise of those hard worked doctors, teachers or nurses are not accompanied with spas, luxury hotels and sponsored trips around the world, free clothes and make up. And why? Because they do not strut or fulfill the credentials of being born tall and thin, (all of which are hard earned credentials ofcourse), which according to socially constructed standards, have been designated as idyllic for the market of clothing - perpetuating a hierarchy of attractiveness and quantifying the individual.
They do work so hard indeed. Especially Gigi who was born into privilege already, the daughter of a model and wealthy businessman.

@@susanq6030 Actually being thin has everything to do with genetic disposition. Many women in the modelling industry are naturally slender women. Infact scientifically, critical hormonal responsive genes found within most models tend to be more masculine. This is the reason why they have the height and "ideal" body mass - as the highly masculine genetic disposition provided the height and minimal body fat that accompanies male genetics.
Therefore these women already have the basic frame work to work with from the get go.There are billions of people around the world who are; not naturally/genetically thin, who do not have the bone structure to be classed as model thin no matter how thin they actually are (consider women with naturally wide hips), large bones etc. So the "gym" and "dietary" rhetoric lack pragmatic reasoning as a source or defence.
Having said all that, millions of people around the world go to the gym and watch their food, whilst working 100078 other jobs. Thus the task of a model is hardly challenging.

And yes, gigi was born with a silver spoon and with connections already, but you think that if she didn't work hard to eat right,constantly workout, and take care of her skin, hair, body, agency would still cast her? She too has her own challenges, we all go through different types of challenges in life. Some have it easier while some have it harder(and yes, it's unfair). My point in this comment was that the prankster should have been more respectful to this show. A lot of people prepared and rehearsed for this show to be perfect and she butted in. I'm not praising Gigi for her 'hardwork' to get into the modelling industry, I'm just commending how she handled the situation

Because it's really disrespectful that someone (probably invited) interrupts like this the show. There's a lot of effort and money going behind this (and not just from models and designers). Whatever is your opinion about fashion, this is a lot of people's job and life, and to make it seem like a joke at their own fashion show is far from funny. So that's maybe why. If she was going to interrupt the show like this, at least she could've given a social message. But no, it was just for the joke, which only makes it worse: she is just mocking the whole fashion business and dismissing it as "something that shouldn't be taken seriously".
