- MasterChef Canada S02 E08 Full Episode: In their next team challenge, the top ten home cooks had to make canapes and French-inspired dishes for a harbor cruise wedding. Michael and Andrew were the captains of the Red and Blue teams respectively. With the first pick, Michael chose Christopher, Sabrina, Tammy and Jennifer, while Andrew chose David, Cody, Line and was left with Jon, and the Red team won.
Pressure Test 3: Next, he home cooks from the Blue team had to recreate a classic French fruit tart. The judges announced that two home cooks would be sent home by the end of the challenge. David and Line were sent to safety for having the best fruit tarts, and Andrew, Cody and Jon landed in the bottom. Jon was then sent to safety, and both Andrew and Cody were eliminated.

Michael is such a mastermind in this team challenge. He fully grasped the idea of this round: not to over-complicate the food and work with calm, collected cooks. He knew simple but delicious food can win and will let them time to have better presentation. That's why their food looked really good. On the other hand, the other team picked the powerful cooks and Michael knew they would over-complicate things. That's why the blue team had less time to plate up the food and the they fell behind on presentation.

@@DavidKrissakit was the cirque du Soleil one, they all ganged up on Line for saving herself, Andrew too since he was the team captain of the other team and he said "if I was down there I'd go down with the ship"

@@ejirokirishima4604Exactly. People really miss the little nuances of these shows. Andrew was so high and mighty about not saving himself if he was in her position...then he admitted he would save himself. Total hypocrite!
This episode shows that a cook that can work with a team is better than a cook who's better cooking alone. Andrew's team has most of the strong cooks in the season but Michael took the ones who can work together.

Michael is a GENIUS. I can genuinely see him running a restaurant WONDERFULLY 👏
Michael has shown one of the best leaderships I’ve seen in this show so far. Calculated from the very beginning, already knew what their synergy would be and where to delegate his members. There’s also Pino, but Michael’s team here was just very organized from start to finish, he also knows what to say to his members at the right time and he only talked positively of each one of them. Newly formed teams will sometimes be chaotic so this was very satisfying to watch.
Probably my favourite MC canada episode ever, micheal playing the team challenge perfectly all the underdogs showing up and all of the threats in elimination with one of the best cooks so far eliminated, just fantastic.
It's a big brain move on him, i just wished that he keeps on making the right decision until his last dish

Ngl I feel like whole of Andrew's team, except David, ganged up on him. Especially Jon and Cody. Cody is that one delusional guy who thinks he knows everything, he needs to be humbled😂
Honestly the biggest mistake andrew did is that he picked the best chefs (except Jon, who is aggresive and bad). But these best chefs are all dominant. He should have picked at least few of the yes-man/submissibe to balance it
Cody has a chip in his shoulders, because of his good looks, therefore thinks he knows best😮
I think the problem with Cody was that he uses cooking to show-off, not because he is passionate about it.

Christopher is really a great cook who was underdog this season but when he won at back to win it really was awesome for the victory
And the icing in the cake was the fact that both the competitors Christopher beat were runner-ups in their respective seasons.
I’ve not been a Michael fan, but he really impressed me on the Team challenge

Michael is a genius not just because he chose level headed guys as his teammates who would listen to him, but also because in the event that his team loses he won't have to compete against the top cooks in the elimination round. He'll be fine even if his team lost.

With all the "top" chefs in the other team, if they lose, one of them will HAVE to go. And if they win, Michael won't have to beat any of them in the pressure test! The guy is a bit theatrical but that was a genius move. If they didn't change the rulss and bring anyone back, Michael would have achieved the desired result too lol.

Andrew was too cocky after losing the team challenge when he refused to accept responsibility as team captain. That’s why I was glad when he got forced into cooking in the pressure test and getting sent home.
Dude Andrew was asked if he would save himself before & he said no & had the audacity to talk snap about Line for doing it lol but now says that he would save himself and he got sent home 😂 and I was glad Cody went home too he was way too arrogant and annoying 🙄
tammy and jennifer being all happy for lin was so wholesome
matthew is a great leader. he knew what each of his teammates best capable with and he encourage and assure them with the way he communicate and praise his team.

They agreed to come on the show, I'm sure it's less than ideal to have a full camera crew present at your wedding but I suspect MC footed the bill otherwise idk who'd agree to do their wedding like this. It's also possible that this wasn't their *actual* wedding and they just wanted to be on the show

The fact is that Andrew's team members are strong cooks individually and that's why the moment they're put in a team, they immediately bang heads.
In contrast, Michael's team members are not that strong compared to Andrew's but they can work together. I think Michael's team is an example of emergence where the group performs better than the sum of its parts.

I'm confused. I believe I've seen Cody making further in the competition and pretty sure Andrew got sent home for an overcooked egg.
I think Cody was back as a wildcard entry and Kevin was eliminated in the egg challenge for a ruined poached egg.
