I think it's unfair to say one artist is 'real' house music and another is not. The genres of electronic music are very blurred and cross over a lot. To each their own though, personally I love whatever music I get enjoyment from, whether it's as mainstream as SHM or some underground artist that hasn't even come into existence yet haha music is just joy :)

Eric Prydz would not be the same producer he is today had he been a part of Swedish House Mafia, and he knows that. He would have no control over his productions and be thrusted into mainstream music like swedish house mafia is now. While I love Swedish House Mafia and they may be the best DJ's around right now, in my mind there is no doubt that Eric Prydz (Pryda, Cirez D) is by far the best producer in the game right now. That being said I am thankful he is not a part of Swedish House Mafia.

If you say that Swedish House Mafia are bad DJ's then you're an ass. They have very good sets (even thought they play alot of commercial mash-ups etc) but their mixing is ALWAYS spot-on and flawless and brings some interesting stuff to the table instead of standard transitioning.

agreed to a point. Exposure isnt a bad thing but when djs change their style to fill the appetities of those not familiar or entrenched within the electronic music world, i notice that their music takes a considerable turn for the worst. If you can be popular and still make banging music, you have won. If you change your music into crap to become popular, you have lost. Soo thats why alot of people dont really like SHM, their productions are crap compared to what each was doing 3-4 years ago
