biryani will always be better in my mind mostly because my mom only really cooked biryani for dawats and special events

@@LordBaron1we’re not used to that stuff. I personally like it though but we make sure to add a bit of spice which I know isn’t part of the recipe but it’s the only way we can eat it 😅

I remember having a dish in Kenya that is the the same as that it's called Pilau. Kenyan food is almost as similar as Pakistani food

Pulao just hits different when you want something warm and filling. The rice is also cooked in stock so it's more flavourful than biryani. Also , one of the reasons why Hyderabadi biryani tastes alot better than the usual karachi biryani.

Our pulao is more or less same, but for us, Pulao is always white.. No colour.. I think the yellowish colour in your pulao is due to turmeric. And do add some green chillies in dum, it will add a nice flavor to your pulao.
The color of pulao comes from the onion
I called Salona Chawal but generally its called ghosht (meat beef or lamb) pilau, murghi pilau (chicken) and that pushtun version is called Kabuli pilau. Its slight different as you need to add sweet carrots and raisins.
About the washed meat.. its not about germ for me.. but to clean the meat from dirt or any like blood.. i dont know how to explain in english but im washed egg before cook.. bcuz its comeout from dirty place..

Here's how you can make good chawal kulfi. Kulfi is basically like ice-cream and it's a very popular dish in Pakistan. You know Saturday's are my cheat days.
I made this. Absolutely spot on. Amazing 😍 Masha'Allah. I really miss Pakistani/Indian food.. but managed to find the spices (except for black cardamom) in Türkiye and made it 🤤 alhamdulilah

I have the funniest story regarding mutton pulao lol. When I was a kid, my mum was in and out of the hospital so it was just me and my dad. Every year on holi, he used to make me mutton "biriyani" since I hated mutton but loved the "biriyani", and didn't like the biriyani from restaurants since it looked too unseasoned to me😭. Fast forward 10 years, i got to know that he made mutton pulao😅
