A lovely way to send a Sunday afternoon, antique shopping with a friend where I am not tempted to retrieve anything. So much fun to watch and sip a cup of tea in a vintage teacup. Thank you for the tag along.
I used my footed crystal bowl to showcase my own collection of sea glass pieces I found along beaches. Filled it with water to highlight the colors. I'm going to do a before-and-after video of me cleaning the bowl out because the calcium built up and left a ring. When cleaned it is stunning to see in the sunlight.
I'd use distilled water if I was you...or no water at all 🤔

The cut glass pitcher you showed with the flower pattern for $125, I have an extensive collection of it. It started with a pitcher my Mom got in1955 as a wedding gift.💖👍

In the cigarette stand I could see the Merci brand chocolates in them for Valentines Day! They are long and slender in beautiful wrapping like a cigarette!

Thank you for visiting with me at AG ANTIQUES. The Blue Willow Story is very interesting: Once upon a time, Koong-se a young woman of great beauty fell in love with Chang, her father’s accountant. Enraged when he discovers their love, he banishes the obviously lower class young man and constructs a wall to enforce their separation.
Daily the girl walks to the property’s edge and stands beneath the willow tree, gazing out across the sea and dreaming of her love. She despairs when she learns her father plans to marry her to a Duke.
But on the evening before her wedding, she escapes with her one true love; they race across the bridge and flee on the Duke’s own ship!
Sadly, their union isn’t meant to last. The Duke tracks them to an island where they’ve built a beautiful life, and he slays Chang, leaving Koong-se bereft. She dies of a broken heart.
The gods take pity on the pair and turn them into doves, allowing them to fly together forever."

When I saw the cigarette servers, which I am not familiar with, I immediately thought of pansies! Pansies have such short stems, this may be perfect. I love Waterford too. The pattern I have is Clare.

The basket weave oyster dish looks like majolica. Good idea, silver tray used for nativity scene base for a Lladro nativity or even interesting juxtaposition with a rustic nativity. Yes, it is Jackie Kennedy. Looks like they have Wedgwood Williamsburg potpourri pattern.

Please do not think this is morbid, but, beautiful lidded ginger jars make stunning cremation urns. Even unique cookie jars are individual for them.
28:48 I collect the white version of this Versace pattern, it's Rosenthal Studio Line, patterns Mythos and Ikarus. It's so hard to find! I was lucky to find the coffee pot on Etsy but the seller didn't package it very well and it broke in the mail 😭Broke my heart.

I purchased 20 Churchill Blue Willow plates a few years ago and they are my every day dishes and have added antique serve ware pieces to the collections as well as bowls that are dishwasher safe. I also collect green and white porcelain ginger jars and vases which are so so hard to find, I will be calling the store! Always look forward to your videos and learning something new!
I love those golden chairs, so pretty. Recently went to an antique shop and got this antique biscuit jar from germany. I don't know how old it is, haven't researched it and it has a few chips on the lid. I also overspent on a jade cat

Thank you Lady Mary Beth for introducing us to this antique shop. Love the chaise long, crystal rose bowl, cigarette frog which I would use for flowers or makeup brushes and definitely looking for a set of porcelain oyster plates and sterling oyster forks. (Very hard to find)

Florist carnations interspersed with smaller carnations varieties for the cigarette holder. You could change the colour of white carnations to match holder, decor or occasion by putting food colouring in the water. Have done green for St. Patrick’s Day as well as pink and blue for baby showers. Think tea and miniature roses would work well too.

I’ve done most of my antique hunting in Germany. I just visited my sister in San Antonio, Texas, and of course I could not miss the chance to visit the local antique and thrift shops. This was my first time antique hunting in the U.S, I was shocked with the prices! 30, 50 bucks for ceramics that in Germany would only cost 1 or 2 Euros. Why do you think this is?

Liebe Grüße aus Houston! It’s all about market demand. This generation in Germany has no appreciation for fine tabletop. Their version is IKEA and all white. This means you get deals at the Flohmarkt. Sterling and silverplate is much cheaper on the secondary market in the U.S. Shop the best of both worlds. 🌎 🌍 🌏

LMB, thank you for all the wonderful videos! Please, if you ever come across a Waterford dish commemorating the Statue of Liberty’s centennial in 1986, I’d be so grateful to know where to get it! My late Godmother (who was my mother’s older sister) got it in NYC when she and my uncle were there that year, and they generously gave it to me. As I was walking to my china cabinet to put it in a safe place, I fumbled and it shattered into hundreds of beautiful pieces. I was shattered as well. I live in Houston, and look wherever I go, but so far no luck. Thank you again for making information so beautiful!
