  • Hello! Welcome to the first episode of what I plan to be a long series of looking at various subjects from history that are surrounded by intrigue and mystery. This could be anything from conspiracies, miraculous objects/events, or just generally interesting things. The first thing I decided to cover was the "Shroud of Turin," one of my favorite mysteries of all time. The Shroud of Turin is supposedly the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, but how true is that claim, really? Find out on this episode of Mysteries of History...

I'm back! Sorry for the super long break between videos. I haven't had any good ideas until this video (and subsequent series) sparked my interest a couple of weeks ago. This history-centered, investigation type of video is a lot different from my other content, since I'm focusing on things from real life rather than movies and video games. I hope that you guys can enjoy this type of content and learn from it as well. Please let me know if you did enjoy this and suggest any mysteries from history that I should look into... Thanks for watching, and God bless you guys! - Chef

The problem with that theory is truly is Jesus(if he existed and if we go by accounts) shouldn't look like that he should look somewhat Arabian plus the idea of a bearded Jesus is actually more of a idea of a time way way after his death so I find it unlikely

It clearly doesn't matches the picture on Turin hell it matches artistic depiction of Jesus in late 6 th century also he doesn't even look remotely like a Jew from 1 century before I learned about it being tied to Jesus I thought it was some roman from 6th century since it was their trend to have big beard like that that's why they made their gods with big beard like Zeus also look at 3d diagrams of the man he doesn't match any artistic older depiction of Jesus which are more accurate

I've seen reports and documentaries on the pollen evidence. That is some pretty fascinating evidence.
There was also pollen from Turkey & other places, as well as Jerusalem as you mentioned.
But of the documented history of the Shroud does not place it in Turkey or Jerusalem.

My theory to explain some properties of the shroud would be that someone crucified a person and wrapped the shroud around his body (in the 13th/14th century in Jerusalem maybe?). But then again why would somebody do that? I'm an atheist and just trying to find some scientifically logical explanation. Anyway, great video about a very interesting topic!

Once you start researching the Shroud (obviously with open mind),you're bound to it for a long time. It's been 20 years for me and still I find myself researching this topic. Even if the person in the shroud is not Jesus, it is absolutely fascinating thing. One of a kind

Blood from the shroud was tested. We as humans have 46 chromosomes however Jesus blood only had 23 chromosomes (human) and the other 23 was not. Look it up, it is an amazing documentary. Once deceased, blood is dead but Jesus's blood on the shroud was not!

the information you present is good. but holy moly that animated shrugging character all the way through such an important video was extremely annoying. I had to skip through and just get it over with. and the narration was a tad fast. its really too bad you didn't put a more mature touch on this.

@@TheDigitalSaloon Status quo? That terminology doesn't even apply to this situation. That being said, your other content, perhaps that sort of juvenile thing works. But for this video it is sorely out of place.
Look, I'm not being rude, it's just not necessary all the way though a video. for 25 minutes? a shrugging and pointing avatar? why would I like that? And I'm sure a lot of ppl agree. It was visually very distracting, especially during informational segments. common sense should tell you, when you are presenting a topic like this, for that many minutes, it just isn't needed.
Something to consider for the future.
