At this point in my life I think I've heard about 14 different recorded versions of Roadrunner, and they're all wonderful in their own special way!
Beautiful song of someone who’s at peace with himself and completed with tiny things, his car, the world and the radio on.
There's something very comforting and pleasing about the crackles from vinyl. Such a fine version.

thank you SO MUCH for putting this on - have had the record since i found it in my mother's record collection, but haven't been able to spread it, which is a travesty now wonderfully rectified. fuck yeah this is so perfect

as far as i remember this was the b side to a single released in europe.(my copy is german).the a side is a track from the modern lovers live album and the version of roadrunner is from those shows but is not on that record.i imagine rhino might eventually get to re-issuing it if enough people write in to request it.
This version is available on a Modern Lovers compilation CD
I have been searching for this since I first heard it soon after realease ( though I did not know which single it was on). My delight at finding it at a car boot recently was shatterred by finding it to be very crackl;y, as are the versions posted on You Tube. Now it seems that I must seek ouit the undermentioned Modern Lovers CD. I WILL have a decent version of this song before I die!!
