I’ve noticed that some of Kotaku’s videos have thumbnails that show the face of the presenter. Then, for some reason, some videos do not show the face of the presenter…

as I understand it; "The fall of Shady Sands:2277" is in reference to it falling to something else, not the nukeing. The nukeing is said to have occurred a year or 3 AFTER the end of New Vegas. It is weird cause Maximus has several scenes as a kid in the ruins of Shady Sands, but the info I have seen is he would have been around his early teens (possibly mid teens, but that would be weird).
So you're thinking Maximus is around 25 or closer to 30? I think it makes more sense to see Maximus around 18-20 which made the nuking of shady being around 2284 would put him around 8 or so as it would fit with him being an aspirant still during 2296.

well, they were already facing major water and food shortages as well as massive damage to their economy due to the BOS-NCR war. I think it's plausible that the city in a bad way before new vegas
