      I think there definitely is skill and strategy involved when playing deadwood, but Salem takes the cake out of the 3 for sure.

    Thanks for this video! I'm in the Kickstarter for their new game, Bristol 1350, and can add on one extra game - we're a family that plays together, and I love that you recognized that families hate learning rules - mine won't sit and do that, so it's been hard to find games they'd play! I found this video very helpful! :D

      Aakriti Agrawal glad you enjoyed it and that we could help! We have Bristol coming along via Kickstarter so we’ll have to update this when it arrives :D

    Salem is the best by a long shot. I need to try Tortuga with a group that will take it a little more seriously, but Deadwood does not play well with a group size that leaves a player without a partner, and has way too much randomness.

      We will have their latest offering at some point this year, so will have to revisit these again! :) thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

    Love Tortuga, and it playes well with up to 7 or 8 well. There are rules on the geek for adding the Dutch player into even nember player games

      @DieRollin  Před 5 lety +1

      Guy Allen oh wow, need to try that. It’s a game that works well with 4 or 8 in my view. :)

    Very cool. I've never heard of any of these board games, but they all sound like a lot of fun. I LOVED board games back when I was a teen and then in college, but haven't really played one in sooo long. This got me interested in playing some board games again, so thank you for that!

    Tortuga is so good especially the more players you add, odd is best but even still plays great

  • @rexation8952
    @rexation8952 Před 3 lety +4

    My group of board game friends had a completely different outcome than your ranking. Strength of theme excluded, we felt that Deadwood was the best for anyone (probably because of the high randomness), that Tortuga was the best for our group, and they felt that Salem was a tad too derivative of Werewolf...if they are going to play that, they would rather play Secret Hitler.
    But that's just us

    • @DieRollin
      @DieRollin  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for watching Rex, I think the fact we’d not played Ultimate Werewolf might have helped Salem pip the post. But I can definitely see merit in Deadwood, it’s just not clicked with us yet.
      Stay tuned for Bristol! :)

      Have backed Bristol 1350 as well, and hopefully will be able to do an unboxing video of it...game friends are going to do at least 1 time of each of these games in the lead-up to Bristol arriving.

    Thank you for this. I was curious about Facade's other games. Out of impulse I wanted to get Deadwood and Tortuga after Salem was a hit with my gaming group, but it seems I'll only be picking Tortuga up. Thanks!

      Adam and I find Tortuga to be a firm hit with our families and friends. We are planning looking at games with Apps, which bridges Board Games with Ipads etc. Glad you like the video @Sadie. :D

    My family likes Deadwood the best out of the three! We have found that it took some "house rule" modifications to make it more enjoyable. Not only do some of our rule changes make it more thematic, but it feels better to play as well. We may end up feeling the same way about Bristol, the new one-we haven't had a chance to play it yet.
