      Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Emergency Medicine
      • The York Hospital Emergency Department is launching a CESR programme starting in
      August 2023.
      • Successful candidates will undertake 5 years of CESR focused training followed by the submission of their CESR application to the GMC.
      • Candidates who are successful in their CESR application through the GMC will be awarded Specialist Registration in Emergency Medicine on the GMC Specialist Register
      - making them eligible to work as Consultants in Emergency Medicine in the United Kingdom.
      • Interested candidates will be asked to submit an expression of interest to the CESR
      Programme Lead - submission date TBC.
      • Selection & recruitment to the programme will be carried out through a fair and competitive recruitment process.
      Applications will be welcomed from all Doctors employed at York Hospital Emergency Department and open to all those recruited during recent and ongoing recruitment processes.
      York Emergency Department is currently undergoing an exciting £18 million development to offer high quality, modern facilities designed to give the best care possible for our patients.
      The introduction of the CESR programme provides an exciting opportunity for doctors to develop and progress in their careers in a modern and forward thinking Emergency

    Sir, what are options after passing MRCEM for a non-trainee doctor?

      They can work as a registrar anywhere in UK.
      If they have PLAB then they can get GMC registration and come here to find a job.
      If they don’t have GMC then they need to search for a job from outside UK to get a Certificate of Sponsorship and get GMC and come.

      OET/IELTS is a must to get GMC registration to work in UK. CESR guidance can be found at GMC website under SSG (Specialty Specific Guidance) for any specialty including Emergency Medicine - Dr Shakeel

      No, OET or IELTS is not required to sit MRCEM exam.
      It’s a requirement for GMC registration.
