It’s a rare thing when a can’t-miss superstar is drafted into the NHL, but it’s a truly rare event when it happens that there are two. And in a heretofore unheard-of plot twist, this year there might even be three. Actually four. Five's not out of the realm of possibilities.
Now there’s some precedent for two. Lafleur & Dionne, Malkin & Ovechkin, McDavid & Eichel, and now Bedard & Carlsson will join their ranks; their careers destined to be inextricably linked.
While both players play on the elite side of elite, Leo Carlsson is a very different player than his Canadian rival. He’s a big man at 6’3” and can already hold his own physically against men twice his age. Already responsible in his own zone, he projects as a special player in all three. He’s a good skater and will only get faster. Endurance is his only weakness, but getting up to speed shouldn't take long.
The Karlstad, Sweden native does everything right on the ice. He possesses elite smarts, brilliant hands, an NHL shot, and an instinctual ability to always find the best places on the ice. There are strong hints of Leon Draisaitl’s game in Carlsson. He just does everything-EVERYTHING-so very well.
Carlsson is a long way off from reaching his full potential, but he’s already a star in the league at just 18. If he’s not a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee when he finally unlaces his skates for the last time, something will have gone very badly wrong. - Sport
His offensive instincts are absolutely ridiculous. His hands are elite as well with his size it's a crazy combo. He is still built like a 16 year old, super slender and still awkward looking. He's going to be scary good.
Alex Killion mentioned Dr said Leo has another few inches to grow. Might be a Kopitar like player.
@mikerulezd00d1 I don't like it as a Kings fan, but as a hockey fan, this kid will be an absolute stud.
Thanks for the video, love the little plays you capture. I know you probably won't do two Anaheim Ducks but Mintyukov has so many little subtle plays like this. He's going to be just as good as Leo IMO. Next level thinker.
I hope Carlsson becomes a 100+ per season player. Swedish hockey needs that
I think he can definitely hit that number multiple times, but doing it annually will be tough
@@matthewkabel6246 as long 80-100 per season it would be awesome
Thanks a lot for your excellent editing!
I can't believe how good he is. He could have well over 30 points already if some things went his way.
It feels so good to be a Ducks fan and know ill get to enjoy this helpfully for his entire career.
Great stuff!
Great video. It'll be a lot of fun to look back on these 10+ years from now.
He is the best rookie. He plays like a man at just 18 and has moved aceoss the planet to come in and do all of this!!?? Amazing person/player. Very mentally strong i supose. Plays like Mats Sundin.
You´re right , I compare every move he makes with Sundin bc he reminds me so much of him. And according to this vid he doesn´t commit one mistake but maybe it´s edited to his favor ?
Not really. If there's one or two mistakes over the course of a few games, I don't tend to highlight them. But if they're regular, I do.
Absolutely brilliant.
Thank you! Great work as always
Great video!😍
he definitely looks like he can hang in the big leagues.
Leo! Awkward, unpredictable, one of a kind, scary, my boy oh boy!
leo does projectable things every game, that isn't necessarily points.. and he is still growing, in a few years, Leo could be a 6'5'' superstar.
the future for the ducks they he dodges checks reminds me of gretsky
Nice! Now do the next 10 games😊
The whole season isn't out of the question... if this one gains traction.
Is it gaining enough?
Hope you're collecting materials! ;) Should be easier since he have missed a few games @@HockeyTruffles
A complete rookie season video is likely in the off-season, but hope this one takes off in Sweden like Dahlin did. If only he played on a big market team, everyone would be interested. He really could end up as the best of the three in the fullness of time.
@@HockeyTruffles oh yeah for sure, he'd be in the headlines way more. Looking forward to the video! :) the Dahlin one was great
can you do fantilli
Quinton Byfield next?
Stay tuned... the top 3 from 2020 are ALL very intriguing.

He is going to be HUUUGE!
all this while playing on a line that has not been jamming at all..
