After discovering Onewe (when rain to be dropped) Yonghoon has QUICKLY become my favorite vocalist in all of kpop, kbands, everything dude!! I barely find a vocalist who can give me chills and make me feel their emotions so strongly. He's a king and should be treated as such, they need so much more recognition!! 1. Songwriting: in all the songs they’ve released as Onewe, at least one member is credited as composer AND writer. Besides 4 songs co-written with company producers as main, they’re the main composers AND lyrics writers for all of their songs. All of the members are known to write songs.
To show their attitude towards music, a quote: “You have to care for a song as preciously as you care for a baby. So it doesn't get injured, doesn't get hurt. You want to be proud of sending it out to the world” - tl credit @ keonfeet on twitter)
For example, from the 3 songs from this album: TRAUMA was inspired by CyA’s trauma of falling into deep waters when he was little; Eraser speaks about good memories and memories we wish to erase, inspired by a washing machine cleaning stains; A book in memory was inspired by a movie Yonghoon watched, which drew him to write a song about “the story about the two of us” with a “last day living” kind of setting. (tl credit @ OneweWorldwide - Album highlight medley)
2. Charitable acts: part of their first full album, ONE, proceeds will go to CJ Foundation in support of new creators. Their first-ever official song was dedicated to victims of sexual slavery by the japanese army during WWII (with lyrics by then-15-years-old member Cya), they also volunteered in a nursing home for these victims.
They received a UNICEF certificate for their donation in support for the victims of the 2016 Nepal Earthquake, and encouraged fans to donate as well!
They have also performed for children with developmental disabilities (Yonghoon said about the experience “I thought this was the reason why we perform and do music” - tl credit to studioweus on Tumblr)
Earlier this year, they also participated in a campaign against elder abuse and spread awareness about cyber bullying through an interview.
More recently, Yonghoon and Dongmyeong rescued a lost dog and eventually returned it to their owner - a small gesture, but meaningful considering how scared Yonghoon is of dogs!
3. Self-formed: members Harin, Kanghyun and CyA went to the same music institution/academy and formed the band. They later recruited Dongmyeong, CyA’s friend and neighbour, as vocalist. They performed as session band at a singing contest which Yonghoon won - there they invited him to join too!
The band was formed in 2015 and released their 1st official song later in that year while managed by their music academy. During their early days, they’d do busking performances near stations or other public locations, even if they were kicked out (tl credit @ONEWEworldwide on twitter, SportSeoul interview)
They moved to RWB Ent. in 2017 and redebuted in 2019 with Reminisce about all!

MEMBER PROFILES
- Yonghoon: main vocalist, oldest and leader. Can play guitar and piano, as well as write and compose songs, even impromptu. He has an interest in radio shows, having his own “show” as # 2min20secs, 2 : 20 min long audios shared on twitter where he talks about his day and leaves messages for their fans, WEVEs.
- Harin: drummer. Also highly skilled at piano, and can play bass, some sax, do beatbox and program + perform amazing launchpad covers (lights and sound shows that he also designs and programs). We know he also writes and composes, but no song from him has been released so far - however he does arrangements and remixes!
- Kanghyun: guitarist (acoustic and electric), his ability is such that his company’s producers ask him for help with it! Can also play drums, bass, ukulele and keyboard, as well as write and compose songs. Former kendo athlete and huge bookworm~
- Dongmyeong: pianist and vocalist. His dancing ability was once praised by Rain, and he at least once knew how to play the harmonica. Also good at painting, and has written lyrics for songs, although we only know the title for one (A wonderful person - dedicated to his father), unreleased. He participated in Produce 101 S2!
- CyA: bassist, rapper and maknae. He can also play keyboard, acoustic guitar, drums and recorder to some degree. He’s a songwriter/composer/producer since at least 15 years old, and is at least co-writer and/or co-composer practically all of their songs! His soundcloud has more songs written and/or produced by him, such as rap mixtapes - he’s also produced songs for artists outside the group.
They all participated in the survival show The Unit, where they had to dance and sing, so some deal of ability for both is a given for them all! :)

Hi and welcome to Onewe !! Us fans are called Weves ! Here's a little introduction to the members :
- the main vocalist is called Yonghoon and is the one who wrote this song ! he's also the leader and the oldest of the band. when he sings he sounds so serious and emotional, but in real life he's just a puppy, always joking around and embarrassing his members lol
- the keyboardist and sub-vocalist is called Dongmyeong! he's our piece of sunshine, he also loves fashion and make up and talks openly about his feelings and is just overall so wholesome
- the bassist and rapper is called CyA (that's his stage name but his name is Giwook). he's the youngest, he's really cute and calls himself "the hamster captain", he loves leopard print because it reminds him of his mom. he also has a soundclound where he posts self-composed and self-produced songs!
- the drummer is called Harin ! He can do impressive tricks with his drumsticks, he loves working out, he also can repare basically anything.
- the guitarist is called Kanghyun! He wrote and composed many of Onewe's songs, like Parting and their last title track Rain to be. He's a bit of a nerd who loves space and reading (he does vlives where he just reads and fans can read with him and chill)
they are a self-formed band, they are friends who like to make music and met years ago and stuck together until today

My mother is really critic with music and most of the time says bad things about music I show her. She said they sound good.
Please, those who are leaving spotify and joining youtube premium make sure you stream all ONEWE's MVs specially A Book in Memory, Yonghoon work really really hard to compose the song and it was chosen as a title track, but now it has been taken down from spotify, kinda feels like his effort was in vain. (The whole MEMORY:ILUSION mini album is gone, no TRAUMA (AQUARIUM), no Eraser and Parting is gone to).
If you feel like listening to their B-sides manually look for them and ONLY listen to those that are posted by ONEWE's official channel, not color coded lyrics, views are money, and our boys work really hard to make their own music, this is a way to support them.

This Song made me cry. The melody, the instruments, their voices, but especially the lyrics... and the memories that comes with them.
I lost my soulmate in 2018 and since then I exist. I try to be alive but it just does not work. I feel like a part of me died with him. He protected me all his life and since he is gone I have to protect myself. I have to stay alive. For him. For eventually meeting him again in our last chapter. I will always remember our time together and will look forward to hear which adventures he made in his world and I will love to tell him my story, my story how I became stronger.
