It’s basically about an asteroid that is about to hit earth and it’s from the perspective of someone lamenting with regret over a loved one, about not being able to tell them everything in their heart, before the end of the world.

Ofc I know regulus lol I’m literally a stan since that era and I’ve been listening since debut (I knew them before bc people commented about them on ONEUS’s debut whom I stanned on debut day. I also now know that he wrote the song while crying and it was inspired from a repeated childhood dream awww.

The lyrics were written by Kanghyun (guitarist) after he had a dream of an asteroid hitting Earth. The message of this song is to tell the things you want to tell your loved one before that asteroid hits the Earth. Obviously it's Kpop music, but when I listen to this song, the whole scene of Japanese anime pops up in my head. This song feels like it was born to be the OST of some romantic anime
I get what you mean. Tbh a lot of kband music could be used an an anime OST.
A lot of ONEWE's music has this effect for me, but when talking about making Parting, their guitarist Kanghyun (the song's main writer/composer) actually stated he was inspired by the style of anime OSTs :)
Kanghyun also has a huge fascination with the universe and reads a lot about it which also gives him inspiration when writing their songs. For Parting's lyrics he said he was inspired by a dream he's had since he was young about an asteroid falling to earth and that it's about what he wishes he could say to those he loves in the moments before it hits.
Btw, their newest song STAR also gives similar anime OST vibes to this one.
It's a continuation of Kanghyun's Star series (Regulus, Parting and Cosmos) but this time written and composed by their leader/main vocal Yonghoon.
Yonghoon hasn't outright confirmed this, but we think he probably got inspiration for STAR from watching the anime Your Name (kimi no na wa). He said he didn't really watch anime until recently, the other members watch more, but he saw that one and loved it so much that he watched it 3 times. He has said that he wanted to write the song like a fantasy and that he wanted to create the feeling of an animation through the styling and background of the MV. For that song, Yonghoon said he thought about their fans (weves) while writing it

Putting their vocals, their musicality and just their talent in general aside (because I know people would argue that there are also other talented bands, and they are right, but...) what draws me in to Onewe that made me LONG for their music is how in touch they are with their emotions. To me it doesn't feel like they "learned" to put their emotions into the songs but more like it's already in their DNA. Putting past or present emotions into a song is something innately natural to them. That is something I both envy and love about them. No matter what songs or emotion, I could trust Onewe to deliver. It gives me great pleasure to have found them. Thank you Onewe for existing.

I still get amazed at how this band was formed by themselves in their early-mid teenage years. Here they are now, still doing their passion. Each member has it's own important role that they do absolutely well and they fit perfectly. If destiny is real, you did really well with them. T_T :')

@@atinyshineforever9252 Yes! They called themselves MAS0094 and have already released a few equally good songs before getting signed into RBW and renamed as ONEWE. The maknae (Cya - rapper /bassist) 2:06 was just a middle-schooler back then probably 16 (Korean Age) when they debuted as a 5-member band - Mas0094. Cya, Kanghyun (guitar) 3:03 & Harin (drums)1:31 formed the band earlier.
They realized they needed a vocalist so Cya invited his apartment neighbor Dongmyeong (vocal + keyboards) 1:44
While doing session band gig for a singing contest, they recruited the winner Yonghoon (main vocal) 1:09 . It's like they reverse adopted their hyung actually.
Their story is heartwarming, really but it's their music and personalities (not to mention - visuals) are what make the fans stay. :')

I always love how Yonghoon acts like he was playing hard to get at the time and everytime they expose him saying no he was like thank you thank you, surely by now he know that's exactly how its gonna go down when he says things like that lol. They really do have such a beautiful friendship though and it shows in their music too, they work in such harmony together
@@seashell1602 I agree! Now that you mentioned it, I just laughed realizing how in Yonghoon's version, he said the members are pleading for him to join (this guy really...XD)
But in actual, it only required Harin to bribe him with a coffee (jk). I still wonder what convinced him to join and trust them when they were practically minors / kids back then. Either way, I see them as a band that will stay together making great music for long because they were built on a strong foundation.

I’m so obsessed with those harmonies, soft but hard core feeling in the voices.
And especially the blue blonde hair guy, he has such a nice touch to the song.
The blonde hair just has that sweet high voice.

the half blue, half blonde guy is Cya (pronounced as kiya) he's a bassist, rapper and producer. the blonde one is Dongmyeong, he's a keyboardist and vocalist. The main vocalist is Yonghoon but he can also play guitar and piano. The drummer is Harin, he can also play the piano. The guitarist is Kanghyun, he was actually the one who made this song (with some help from Harin in arranging the song).
This song was actually inspired from Kanghyun's childhood dreams about an asteroid falling on the earth. This song is about wanting to tell your loved ones everything you wanna tell them before an asteroid actually hit the earth.
If you want to know, the drummer, guitaris and bassis studied in a music academy. The main vocal went to an university of music and the keyboard if from SOPA,and trained to be idol. The first ones meet in the academy and decided to do this band. Cya(the bassis) invited dongmyeong(keyboard) bcs they need a singer and they were friends. They find Yonghoon in a singing contest(and he won). And like this they became MAS0094,and in 2018 or 2017 the moved to RBW and redebut like onewe

onewe is self-formed and self-produced band under rbw entertainment. this song was written and composed by guitarist with dark purple hair, Kanghyun. he was inspired by his dream about asteroid getting close to earth & about to fall so lyrics express things he wished he could say to his loved ones before it happens. title of the song from Korean is translated as asteroid.
also this song belongs to onewe's planet series, along with regulus and cosmos, they also made by Kanghyun. if you liked this one, you would love those too
