This is hands down the most nerve-racking set I've seen since Sparg0 vs Leo at Mainstage.
I had the chance to see that in person since I went to Mainstage all sets were fun to watch and we were all jumping out of our seats lol

Super happy for Gluto! He worked really hard for this for months and made many awesome comebacks this tournament, and was due for a major win like this based upon his recent playing. I think he's #3 in the world right now, and with momentum. Leo Spargo Gluto Light atm imo (tweek is super amazing at his best but not better recent results than these 4, proto was great at summit and could be top 5 too).

The fact that Leo befriended him and trained with him, even though this could potentially increase the chances of being beat, shows how humble and aligned and kind he is. As fantastic as it is to be Mexican and have him to represent the country, I'm more amazed by his sportsmanship and persona than his skills themselves. Props to Gluto! What a set.

@@alangodinez5487 it's more of a clever improving method. You can only get better if you fight against enemys in your league or higher. Mkleo needs someone to practise with like everyone else. Fighting these strong opponents only in tournaments isn't enough.

Leo is such a kind dude. You can really see his happiness when his friend Glutony won. I don’t see how anyone can hate Mkleo. Legit wish I was friends with him irl.
These two are inspiring to see at the top like they are. They're sportsmen through and through and they deserve all the success they work for. It was heartwarming to see such a fierce competition end with such a friendly, happy moment.
Yeah, you could tell part of Leo wanted Gluttony to get a win, but at the same time, he showed him no mercy in game... 100% deserved trophy... ruthless competitors in game, friends outside the game, you love to see it.
Mad respect for Leo going straight for the long hug with Gluto at 39:14. He knew how it must have felt for Gluto to finally overcome his demons and win a major, nonetheless against his good friend he had never managed to beat.
No salt here, just straight up understanding and friendship. That’s really heartwarming and a really powerful moment that makes me respect both players even more.
Leo had already had a similar reaction when Spargo managed to beat him in GF, with only pride and respect for the competitor who bested him. He’s so humble and cheering for others and displays the most sportsmanship I’ve seen across several sports, whereas top players usually sport an oversized ego. I hope he will remain at the top for a long while.
Gluto really needed this victory, he's had so many majors where you knew he had the skill but would lose to Leo in grands and while this was a nail biter and a comeback he finally did it. when he got 2nd at Genesis I knew the major win was gonna happen one day. Also shoutouts to Mkleo, you could tell that he was happy for his friend and the respect he has for him. We couldn't have a better #1 player than Leo, he brings us so many good sets and is just a respectful person. This win wouldn't of felt as special if Gluto didn't play Leo in grands. Now the only big top players that Gluto consistently loses to that he's never beaten that he has to beat are Tweek and Tea. Other than that congrats and can't wait for the future of his career! If he keeps this success up he really has a shot to be top 3 maybe even top 2.

Glutonny could beat Leo's Joker. Glutonny is an excellent player and those 3 weeks that he has been living with Leo and basically playing at least 5 hours a day with each other basically Catapulted him to possibly be top 3-4 in the world.

This was not handed over. Leo played, VERY well starting his losers run. Gluttony played well, but more importantly, was NAILING his Waft confirms (which are TRUE.)

Without a doubt the best Grand Finals of the year so far, and one of the most tense Grand Finals in the game's history. Glutonny's arc throughout the past few months has been so inspiring.
I'm a big Leo fan but after seeing how disappointed Gluto was after Genesis, I'm really happy for him. And Mkleo showed that at the end. No grief or head shaking. Just walked up to him and hugged

Damn, that was the most exciting grand finals I've seen in a very long time. Very well-earned
that hug at the end was heartwarming, it felt like 2 people that see each other after years of seperation. felt like theyre a love couple in a long distance relationship lol (jks besides, it was really cute and an honest hug, not just for sportsmanship... it was for friendship)

When Leo won Genesis over Gluto, a friend of mine mentioned how Leo looked kinda sad, despite winning. This time it looked like he was happy to see his friend win, despite losing himself. It's really great to have the number one be someone who can be happy about other people defeating him.

I have no idea if its actually how Gluttony decided to go for the final u air to end game 5 of the second set, but at around 38:24 you can see a similar situation where gluto is grounded and mkleo does a dash back->dash forward-> jump right by the egde to try to get out of the corner. The very next time it happens, Glutonny does a shorthop landing up air to beat the same option MKLeo had previously used after he dashed back to the edge and converted into a waft to end the tournament. Amazing players and an amazing grand finals

That final waft really came out of nowhere I couldn’t believe it. Came to rewatch to see what Leo did that let him get the up air
if you rewind to leos 2nd to last stock, he does the same movement maneuver to get out of the corner (dash back, forward, jump at the edge) and then gluto takes the stock right after-the immediate next time it happens for the last stock, gluto just full sends the upair to catch leo doing that same movement thing

This and Genesis 8 convinced me that Gluto is top 5 at least. Maybe even top 3. He is so good despite his tendonitis. What an absolute legend! I hated Wario so much until I saw this man use him.
Props to Leo for hanging in there despite seemingly being annoyed with some of his mistakes. He got the bracket reset and this went on to game 5! This is what I believe the best of Grand Finals look like.
Both winners and grand finals were some of my top 10 matches in SSBU!

As much as I love MKLeo I wanted to see gluto win against a sword character. I normally root for MKLeo because he is so good and such a good sport but gluto had to get his spacing perfect and not hold shield so long against Byleth. That strong hug at the end was emotional not gonna lie. Congratulations Gluto. 🥇 And of course, amazing job as always MKLeo. 🥈👏🏼😊

Glutonny didn't lose a single time through the whole tournament, unlike mkleo who lost once during semi-finals.
So in this grand finals, glutonny has an advantage over leo. He only needs to beat leo once, while Leo needs to beat Glutonny twice
