    That 4th group was the ticket. Sometimes I get in a rush the 1st time shooting anything & after I warm up (or shoot at least a mag) the groups get better. Like the color of that PC, it looks purple. Thanks for sharing Bro

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  Před 2 lety +1

      I think that's exactly what it was. I was setting up cameras, the chrono, and all that. These were the first shots of the day and I was still all riled up. That powder coat is purple. I got it on Amazon. Prismatic Powders - Sinbad Purple. It covers great just like Ford Light Blue. Its kinda pricey though, thats my only complaint.

    Wow you got lucky to find some Power Pistol! I've always wanted to try it for heavy 45-45 Super to compare against Unique and Herco but I never see it since I moved to Montana. There is powder available at $45-50lb but not much choices. I have to say I stumbled onto using Herco in 45ACP+P-45 Super and its impressive. I'd think it would do the same across the board in auto pistols with heavy bullets. With heavier bullets it seems to outperform Unique but I only have a 1/2 pound left so I stopped doing random testing with it until I find more. With a 250-260gr cast and a heavy recoil spring (I've used 20lb-24lb) I got over 1000fps no pressure signs, but you definitely can feel the recoil difference!

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  Před 2 lety +1

      I've seen a pound or two locally, but didn't know anything about it. Thats good to know! Alliant makes great powders. I prefer them over any of the Big H powders. I'll keep my eyes peeled for Herco and do some research. Thats impressive to get 1000fps with no pressure signs. Wow! Did it feel like a 44 Mag?

    Looks like a good powder. Kind of higher charge weights for better groups it looks like. I typically just use Unique for 9mm but occasionally Bullseye. Bullseye is just dirtier but faster burning. I like Unique the best for 9mm because its a medium burn rate and works well for a wide range of bullet weights. I have for years loaded 115gr. and 125gr. hard cast lead with it. Plus I can load shotgun shells with it. Performance might be better though with a dedicated pistol powder like Power Pistol. I like Bullseye and the faster burn rate better for larger bullet sizes like .45ACP. Thanks for sharing.

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  Před 2 lety +1

      The crappy groups was probably 100% my fault. I love Bullseye for my 45ACP loads under a 200gr SWC. Unique is a great powder as well. Thank you for watching, RB M

    Power Pistol is a great powder in 9 mm, 5.2 to 5.4 is the range I get my best results in with cast bullets in the 125 gr. weight range. I get great results with it in my 45 ACP as well.

    • @TinManReloading

      @@TinManReloading any one of those two will bring the best out of the 9mm. and may I add, Bullseye has been my go-to for .45 for many years, Win 231 works well too. It seems that lots of powders compare to Bullseye and 231 in the .45, but nothing will beat them overall. If I couldn't find those two on the shelf, I would get a can of Red dot or 700X for .45 loading. Peace Bro.

      @@TinManReloading Tinman, I really appreciate the offer, truly I am humbled by your generous offer to send samples. I would rather my friends DO NOT send any components or tools because of the strict legal ITAR USA Rules which can be extreme in cases of export to even Canada. Lee Molds are cheap, about $35.00 here so I'll buy one during the winter for use next spring.
      Maybe I'll get you to email some 3D files for accessories if I ever get off my ass and buy a printer in the future though. Thanks, Mike.

    The problem is that there is no guide for a 16" inch barrel .. the data that they are providing most of the time is out of a 4" barrel . Vihtavuori N350 in his famous shooting accuracy! my load is 115 FMJ with N350 5.7 grains .aol 1.140. That fall in the middle between the low and hi recommended power load .
    Vihtavuori N350 is the slowest in the N300 series of handgun powders. It is ideal for very heavy loadings and top velocities and energies for a broad range of pistol and revolver cartridges. The grain size (1,0 mm length and 0,8 mm diameter) is exactly the same than N320, N330 and N340; it is the porosity of the powder that makes all the difference in burning characteristics. N350 . I don't have a chronograph but would guess it's about 1400 fps.
