Native to Central America and northern South America, cultivated as an ornamental in tropical and subtropical regions around the world.
The marshmallow is a large shrub with a woody texture that can easily reach 4 meters in height. Its branches are erect and very branched. Dark green, oval, lance-shaped leaves with serrated edges.

It has a high content of vitamins A, B, C and K, fiber and minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus, among other properties.
In Candomblé it is considered a plant of Omulu, the orixá that dominates the territory of diseases and cures, being used for healing baths in people with skin diseases.
    REVENUE:
    Marshmallow Salad with Honey Dressing:
Wash the hollyhock flowers, remove the green part (the flower calyx and the petiole, that flower stem) and leave them soaked in water with 1 tablespoon of vinegar for a few minutes. Drain and rinse again. Assemble the salad and pour the honey dressing.
Warm or cold tea: 3 to 4 cups of warm or cold tea throughout the day.
PREPARATION: First, bring the water to a boil. As soon as the first bubbles start to form at the bottom of the bowl, turn off the heat. Pour the water over the marshmallow, cover and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
