The generosity of this man leaves me out of words
some would say... speechless?
I was wondering how to thank him for these videos but you said it the best!
yeah great videos, Ive used a couple of the techniques I've found from Yan already tbh
Guess heâs never heard the phrase âa magician never tellsâ
It's like open source techno lol
@@bjornchaudron he's the famous GNU/techno distrođđ

This channel is criminally underrated, and this man is a wizard
Yan Cook makes the best tutorials. The best part is he doesn't need to talk to explain what he's doing.
but still i understand everything!
You make this whole producing process looks so easy. No need buy stuff, no need expensive things, no need EXTRA. Thanks man.
Basically every track i start now uses at least a dozen elements from this channel's videos. Yan Cook is godlike. pattern two gave me shivers.
You can tell how much Yan loves music by how he just gives these hard earned secrets away. A true gentleman and a scholar. Thank you for sharing your ideas!
This make me so happy, because you arenât teaching me only new ways to produce, but now I want to produce even more! Thanks đ€đ»
That trick with the frequency shifter is great! Thanks for the inspiration.
@@jimd7097 there will be a way
@@jimd7097 google it or look at the manual. A search on CZcams will tell you what you need to know.
@@jimd7097 you can just use any thirdparty frequency shifter plugin to replicate the effect. You might check Valhalla DSP Freq Echo is free and it does the job
!
also last pattern is insane sounding, these videos are real inspiring when it comes to sound production, you're a gem for the techno community man
Sick how you transform these synths just with processing them. I always thought that these type of synths were made with like some weird expensive modular gear.
I mean..abelton aint cheap either lol
@@shanemau516 in comparison with modular gear, ableton is cheap haha
Good ideas always beat expensive gear. You can buy the most expensive modular rack in the universe and still not be capable of producing interesting sounds :)
@@Mark0Mokum this is very true.
"It ain't what you got, it's what you do with what you have.. you understand? And it ain't what you do, it's how you do it!"
Thank you so much for this Yan, this year I started producing and I have been taking weekly lessons for a few weeks now so this really inspires me to keep working on new projects. You're amazing!
best tutorials going - no filler, all gold - thank you for your generosity and keep up the amazing work!
as someone who is just starting out making techno, this is just invaluable. thank you so much for your time and generosity.
Thank You Yan Cook. This Indeed Is Helping Me out. I got more (Useful instruction) from this with messing around with it - inside of a single day than I would have trying to figure out how to apply Live's effects (as demonstrated here) in a Month... I wish I'd found this Video and Channel at LEAST 6 months before Today!
This is gold, recognized so many techno elements where I had no clue at all how they were made. Thank you very much, looking forward for more videos like this :)
so much this, stuff that would have taken me forever to unlock through experimentation. it is just stuff that is not as intuitive as "typical" or fundamental subtractive synthesis sound design.
I think you are one of the most real techno producers, thanks for this, it's invaluable
Pure gold. Superb quality content :)
Like someone said - the generosity of this person is out of this world. MAD PROPS , YAN, you're THE MAN.
Keep it up, your work is brilliant.
Great vid, love the use of Freq Shifter. That and phase/flanger effects seem to be a big ingredient in your sound palette. Love it.
Thank you very much for leaving the cursor visible in the latest videos! It's like day to night for me now - much better. :)
Very nice! I was half expecting this to be âPattern 1: doof doof; pattern 2: oonst oonst; pattern 3: boots-and-catsâ etc, but this is really inspiring for taking simple patterns in all sorts of sonically rich directions.
Everything you touch turns into gold, big, big fan Yan
what's funny is i was always looking for a tutorial on yan's stuff and here he is...awesome!
This is so cool, so inspiring !
Yes, exactly this
Definitely helped with my writers block this past week. Thanks mr. cook đ
Thanks for sharing Yan, so nice of you!
Iâm a complete beginner and am fascinated by your art - Thank you for showing us whatâs possibleâŠ. đ€©đ
Seriously I appreciate your work so much - instant inspiration! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and ideas đđŒ
thanks for sharing, sick patterns and patches!
Excellent, tried out the first pattern myself and was immediately sold! You sir have a new subscriber! THX!!!
THANKS DUDE
I always use your tracks. You're awesome. Thanks for sharing this
Easy and Intuitive explanation and soooo useful!!!
Iâll finally add something more than just drums to my hybrid setup
Thx Yan đ€
Thanks man, this helped so much. I'm just using a TR8 and an SH01a. LOVING it!
Looking forward to finishing work and trying these out!
I love this, Yan. Thanks for sharing!
Im speechless with the quality of this content. Your commitment to a certain aesthetic is very inspiring. I made a track on top of one of the patterns, and I would feel guilty not stating that it is a remix from your work đ
It's so nice to get a tutorial from the artist in my playlist, Thank you so much
Speechless at your tutorials man
Mate, all your videos are golden, learned so much from you
Amazing tutorial. Thanks for showing such good ways to use the frequency shifter. (And keeping it Ableton only)
Subscribed!!! Thank you for the knowledge.
Such a helpful video mate. Love your work, bravo
Just came back to this to comment. This is such a good tutorial Just wanted to say Thankyou for sharing with us! âđŒ
uff this is great! very interesting, thanks for that. please show more of those patterns and what you can do with them. its very helpful for recreating and coming up with something own and getting to know the instruments.
Might be the best video I saw on CZcams
This is the ultimate proof that you dont need any VST. This is magic to me.
Most useful. Very inspiring. Well presented. Thank you
Best day of the week! Thanks!!
Thanks man! Very helpful. Big interest in this kind of video's
Pattern #5 is a work of art
Man.. I've been ignorant!! Thanks so much for sharing.
thank u so much for this, I learn so much from all your videos
This is tremendous. Thank you!
insane video, big thanks
That's fantastic! Many thanks!
great tuts. fit in my dnb production as well
This should be titled 'how to build amazing techno chains with Ableton's Analog'. Fantastic tutorial, thanks đ
Really thanks , techno is love
Great stuff Yan
hello mr cook, amaziiiiiiiiiing i have learned so much from this i cant even express it thank you
Thanks, very helpful.
Huge fan! Awesome channel! Thanks! :D
Pattern 3 is crazy good!!
Amazing, Thank You! Yan
Yan Cook sharing KNOWLEDGE!
This is amazing!! Thank you so much :)
Thanks for the useful videos mate
I have been listening the "pattern 4" sound in techno for years. Finally I found how to make it. Thank you !!
Thank you for sharing ! Your Awesome
Insane as always, and released on 909 day!
Great stuff! Interesting to see that you have a lot of go to values ready for different patches. The frequency shifter for the last patch doesn't work the same for me, I get percentages up to 50% instead of values, prolly a difference in versions of Ableton.
a video to learn basic, which bring a lot open mind to creativity
Nice tips ! Thank you !
Well now I wanna make some music. Great stuff!
Cheers Yan.
Perfect as usual
Welp now it's going to take a whole set of 2 generations to reinvent something like this.
It's basically the whole techno scene summed in a video.
Thank you!
My fav tutorial mentor â€

thank you yaaaaaaan â„â„
I donât even make techno but your videos are so awesome that I watch it anyway
Muchas gracias Maestro âĄ
damn, now I want full length tracks of every single pattern
Thank you bro.
This is 10/10 helpful. Ty
Very nice!
Amazing video
For the second pattern, I usually did the same concept differently, with some time up to five notes. But try to randomize the velocity, and you will be chocked with the result
this is sick keep it up!
Many thanks!!
Damn I was just so hyped about producing oldschool warehouse house music and now I see this. đ What am I going to do now? Thanks for sharing. Subscribed.
Really nice video, thanks a lot for share It!
Absolutely awesome đđ
Again pure gold! But still waiting on an Analog Four jam :P
sounds like ur blades ep, great tutorial !!
