  • Weve got a really nice car to work on today, a 1956 Chevy bel air 2 door post! This car is remarkably clean and rust free. it is having some driveability issues. Do we have what it takes to get it fixed?

One of the most influential elements of the Tri-Five was the recent development of their newest 265 cid (4,340 cc) V8 engine, which was first offered in 1955.[4] It was an overhead valve high compression, short stroke design that remained in production in various forms for decades. The base V8 had a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 162 horsepower (121 kW), and the "Power Pack" option featured a four-barrel carburetor and other upgrades yielding 180 brake horsepower (130 kW). Later, a "Super Power Pack" option added high compression and a further 15 brake horsepower (11 kW).[5]
1955-1957 were watershed years for Chevrolet, who spent a million dollars in 1956 alone for retooling, in order to make their less expensive Bel Air models look more like a Cadillac, culminating in 1957 with their most extravagant tailfins and Cadillac inspired bumper guards.[4]

Hey Lars, good work, sweet post car. That carb most likely needed a rebuild, I'm sure the stale fuel and sitting didn't do it any favors IMHO. You might suggest to the customer to change out the Fred Flintstone master cylinder to a double. What's the story on the sweet rare Corolla? Thanks for posting.

yes you may be right on the carb... it has been sitting a couple years. i recently bought the corolla you will see it soon. the 56 is indeed our vehicle and yes the brakes are not very impressive and arguably unsafe lol.

That's an absolutely gorgeous car. If you don't like Edelbrock you need to learn how to tune on them, same thing with people hating quadrajets, it's a matter of learning how to adjust them. Save up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next video 👍✌️🇺🇲

You should check the fuel tank is venting also if it's not it'll create a vacuum and cause drivability issues.

Those glass filters cause fires! Many great cars have burned to the ground cause of them.

SON YOU HAVE TO ESTABLISH YOUR PERSONAL STANDARDS. WHAT WILL WORK ISN'T ALWAYS BEST. HARD LINE FOR FUEL. ELECTRIC PUMPS NOT DEPENDABLE NOW YOU NEED A REGULATOR ON MY 56 NO WIRE SHOWS NO BATTERY IT'S ALL HIDDEN AWAY FROM THE HEAT.

Fuel is hardline from the factory. Wires along frame from the factory in many cases. Now the electric pumps are junk, you should always carry a spare with you if you run one. Also i think your caps lock is on.
