About I Dream Of Jeannie: Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman star in this classic ‘60s comedy about a genie and her master. When astronaut Tony Nelson is forced to crash-land on a remote Pacific island, he finds a strange bottle that's washed ashore. When he opens it, out pops a genie named Jeannie. Yeah, Serena was just a trouble maker because she liked to have fun. Jeannie II was a legitimate bad girl, but I loved when she appeared!

Clever use of split screen with Wicked Jeannie on the sofa.
Split Screen was nothing new back then and used before that time. People are always surprised at the Camera tricks, techniques and technology of the past. Technology only improved.
@@TheBrownIsland Yes, but generally split screen back then was usually just that, a split from one side to the other of the frame, usually vertically. It was rarely down the middle of the screen, but nevertheless, it was the whole frame. Here, they were a little more creative with it. This *was* impressive for 1967. Especially on a weekly TV show that was struggling in the ratings. Furthermore, this scene is the reason Jeannie is just popping out of her bottle instead of smoking out of her bottle in this episode like she usually does. Budget.
Don’t forget the best part, we get to see two Barbara Eden‘s at the same time! 😍 Life was good!!

I don't know why I loved this show more than Bewitched. Genies seemed more powerful than witches and Samantha was an adult while Jeannie seemed more like a naive kid. She was learning about the world at the same pace as me. But when her sister came to town I missed all the sultry, sexy references. Love this show!

Let's bear in mind that Jeannie was locked away for 2,000 years. She had a lot of catching up to do, while her ever-present sister was able to change with the times.
The problem with Bewitched is wet blanket Darrin.

@@uphilliceskater he was more than simply a wet blanket...he was xenophobic...he even discouraged his children from exploring their magic heritage...it was obvious he did not like Sam for who she is...he wanted a dumb girl with no aspirations...and that show glorified submissiveness as a virtue...plus let’s face it, both darrins are ugly af...compared to Elizabeth who was drop dead gorgeous...Sam could do better and yet she doesn’t. Tony on the other hand has been nothing but supportive of genie and never belittled her at all even though he had every right to do so as her master. Plus it did help how both looked stunning.

I believe Major Anthony Nelson must be one of the most moral men ever depicted on television. He never once used Jennie's powers for personal gain and never once took advantage of Jennie in a sexual way. Both accomplishments would be nearly impossible for a real man to do.

I hated the episodes where Jeannie's sister shows up. She seemed to lose brain cells every time her "sister" did show up. Her sister would trick her to get Major Nelson and then the next time she showed Jeannie would forget about that and just trust her all over again.

I think her sister likely made off-screen visits that we didn't see and maybe patched things up... Probably once in a while her sister would come up with a scheme to get Tony and those are the visits we the audience see

Would have been neat if Jeannie's sister became Roger's genie and Jeannie's mother became Dr. Bellow's genie, she was attracted to him. I honestly think Jeannie's sister and Roger would have been a good match... I could see Roger enjoying the swinger lifestyle
