    Excellent build! This is a nice kit, I have both the Revell "Stars and Stripes" and the Owens Corning Vettes. I am currently pre assembling the Owens Corning kit getting it ready for primer.
    As far as setting the hood in with the pins in place? I use a nail file and sand a small angle on the forward part of lip that the hood rest on. Makes it easier to slide in without stressing or damaging the paint.

      Also, when adding the tub? Install it with the firewall. The firewall should line up with the forward edge of the cowl and the tunnel of the firewall should line up with the tunnel of the interior tub. The two rear tabs on top of the tub will line up with the rear of the tub opening on the body where the door scribe lines are. If your kit has open vents on the side of the body, the firewall should not go past or block the first rearward vent.
      On the OC Vette it lined up right at the rear opening edge of the side vent.
      That has been my experience so far working with this particular kit.

    Hello Right on Replicas, I really enjoyed this video. It was both informative and entertaining. I am happy the Revell put two versions of this tooling in one box, the Yenko version which was identified by both you and the information on the box. The second version you identified as "Custom" actually represents a Baldwin-Motion Corvette. That version was not identified as such on the box. It makes me wonder if Revell lost the B-M licensing with the way the same version is incognito in the most? current box. I say "the same", but thanks to your video, I know there is a serious omission that makes replicating a B-M car much more challenging. Specifically, the kit you reviewed does not include decals to reproduce the very complicated paint stripes that appeared on the majority of these cars. Well, thanks again and I hope some of your users find this information useful, Jason

    Hey, I found a bottle of paint a year or two ago on Ebay called Gaia E7 Model Plating Silver S-06 (Metal) that is even better than the Molotow. The finish is just like the chrome plating. It's a little expensive now at $16.99 with free shipping and comes from Taiwan, but I've never gone back to these other paints that say "chrome" but don't really have that shiny mirror finish. I use it on my Hot Wheels, Matchbox and 1:43 scale cars.
    I love the C1-C4 Corvettes , but it was C3 that I really liked as a kid.
    Anyway, I love the gold color you chose for this model.

    Excellent video/instructions! Very helpful.Question: to make the metallic parts not so shiny, you said you used clear flex(?). Never heard of it. Any other suggestions (maybe tamiya paints or similar...). Thanks a lot!

    Nice work! I have an actual 69 427 in Riverside Gold and I am building this kit for my office. I was wondering if there is such a think as a candy gold which would be a semi transparent paint which you could apply over a silver base. I think you could get it to look very close to the Riverside Gold. Your thoughts?

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Před 2 lety

      Rob, If you want an exact match you can order 6903 RIVERSIDE GOLD METALLIC paint from MCW Finishes online for $7.50. That's your best bet for accuracy. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
