Dan is right, the man knows what he's talking about with a farm truck. Everything we want and need. I may be in VA but his idea is perfect for any larger scale farming. We've kicked around the same ideas with the skid of welder, air compressor, tool box but never did anything with the ideas. The ONLY place he's got it all wrong is it's GOT to be a classy truck. It needs a Bowtie!
Thanks for watching Alex
A slide out work bench on the side would make life so much easier. I would vote for a Ford F-450 super duty. Turbo diesel.
Would be cool to see you find and visit a handful of family farms, learn each of their back stories while building a unique farming vehicle.. either vote between the team or with viewers for a family to give the vehicle to
they give their biggest doners just like any for profit group ! also paired with everyones favorite monsonto ! millionares winning a truck YEY ! they pretty much got banned from nyc for faking a dive mission last year. came in zero permits and were fined for doing a show on the east river. big fakes all they did was film a video 10ft off shore but their video was a whole different story*coughbullshit* all these guys do is pollute our waterways and go, ask them why they cant do another show here
Your perfect farm truck would be a mix between your standard mechanics truck and a Lube Truck on a Ford Lariat F550 Crew Cab chassis. Itâll need tanks for hydraulic fluid, diesel, grease, and DEF on a modular lube skid, as well as a welder, compressor/generator, and possibly a small crane to help with large parts like PTOâs and Pumps. Youâll want the larger commercial chassis because as you add the bed and your accessories, you effectively reduce the towing and carrying capacity of the truck. The commercial chassisâ are also designed to accept a PTO and pump so you can run all of your hydraulics. IMT is one of, if not the best manufacturer of mechanics trucks in the country, Iâve seen some awesome looking custom F550 Lariat builds of theirs with black metallic cabs, bodies, cranes, and compressors. It can be done, good luck guys!
Wow...!!!
Biggest thing I'd like in my ultimate farm truck..... The ability to shift into 2wd LO, for when wanting to move whatever you have hitched to the truck, without the front axle engaged. This would give greater control of your movements.
It'd also be great to have a dependable hydraulic system that'll raise any implement off the ground, in order to be able to road that implement with the truck, if needed.
You ask for a tractor I like. I back when I was young I really like the Massy Ferguson 35. It took awhile to get use to the metal seat, but with the right type of maintenance it would work all day without any problem. I don't do that type of work anymore but there are good memories from these times. Good Luck to all those who enter the contest.
Case , my family actually has 2 different tractors , Massey Ferguson 65s and the J i case 930s , witch still are halling and baleing hay, and plowing and tilling are field's today, we are a small cattle/farm operation but its what we can aford and pretty much can use here, looking forward to see what yall come up with for us farmers.
I have to admit having these guys build a truck is one of my bucket list items
Let's talk!!
@@SparksMotorsCo Hell Iâm just an old veteran with next to new money and a bunch of dreams I know something like your farm truck would look perfect in my driveway but I have to hold out for winning the lottery first although it would be nice to get my grandson something like this for when Iâm gone
Definitely a bucket list for them to build me a truck
Me Three ! Dads ole chev S10 is 22 years old still running but its tale pipe is a draggin
Flatbed with tool boxs, fuel tanks, welder/compressor, aux remote control lighting(Gobee) or another, capability to winch from front/rear.
John Deere favorite brand and 8310R and 4440 are favorite models
Most folks would want a tough truck that gets the job done and it should be comfortable for them too, they work hard. Myself, with just 10 acres would be happy with a golf cart or something from Polaris, my Cub Cadet is a little slow lol
You guys were the ones that flew over me about 100ft off the ground outside vinton. was remodeling my house and burning all the scraps right next to the river.
An additional skid with a water tank and pump with a hose reel could be useful as well; something fast and easy to stuff in and go for grass fires and such.
You guys should be interviewing cattle farmers if you really want to see a well used truckđ€Ł
I agree, you guys could certainly use a Deere!
Ok, I have to admit I'm digging this farm truck idea and looking forward to more episodes.
Hans is the best straight to the point and who cares what the f*** happens! Go Hans go!
You guys have the best road trips. My favorite part was when Cole asked where the soccer field was.
My dad was a farmer in North Central Iowa years ago. He had a John Deere tractor with a cab. He also had a 1959 John Deere, which we still own. He was a small farmer with 240 acres of Corn and Soybeans. He had a ford pickup, but not too fancy. He passed away in 1991. My siblings and I rent out the farmland to a family who are using it for organic farming of Corn and Soybeans. I'm impressed that Diesel Power Gear ventured out to Iowa to talk with our farmers!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with for a Iowa farm truck!!! Oh by the way, you pronounce Des Moines as "De Moine" the "s" is silent.
The suspended on what kind of truck your team will come up with and what kind of options will be on that truck got my mind spinning. Can't wait to see that series of videos on that build. Keep up the great content.
John deer baby !! Just like owning a chevy : :)
lol. who in there right mind would let Han's hire a car!! Great episode.
Driving the Pacifica out in the field. Reminded me of taking my Camry out hunting haha.
John Deere
I love Ram . Claas tractors, innovation is the key. Build the service box and fuel tank below the flatbed a slide out toolbox integrated into the headake rack with the "quick tatch" geni welder compressor skid
Ram fan here too. You got a good start for sure. Some how get rid of any DPF and Dyno tune the Cummins. Add in a 5th wheel Gooseneck swappable system and there you go!
Gonna be sick. Waiting to see who wins Workhorse!
It's amazing how well you guys get along and work So well together and how you guys can take something ordinary and make it into something so amazing . Things that are dreams come true to so many people. Thank you for such interesting and enjoyable videos.
I received your text
And thank you
You should have started with the last guy - he knew exactly what is needed! You can never have too many tool boxes
John Deere all the way!! Also dodge though, fords are great but they are harder to repair and work on. As a farmer when stuff breaks down, we generally have the knowledge to fix it, but can run into problems with fords as often you have to pull the cab to do engine work, or modifications and donât have the right equitment to do so. Dodges have similar power and torque, but also a lot more room in the engine bay to work on stuff.
I really want to see another duramax build. Murdered out silverado would be dope
Can't wait to see what you decide to build as the best farm truck. The service truck you're giving away sounds like it's on the right path. Hans needs to keep his opinion of it has to be a Ford to himself though. The ram is where it's at.
I think this is gonna be a real interesting build series. Canât wait to see what the diesel brothers will come up with should be awesome.
Sorry the ultimate Farm truck has already been built years ago. You know: Orange truck with a camper top on it. Blows every thing it runs against off the 1/4 mile. Yea. That's the "Farm Truck".
It's actually faded red but yeah I'm a 405 vet I knew farm truck befor the show
âSorryâ but do you not get thatâs a drag truck, not a âfarmâ truck. This is a functional truck built for a farmer đ..
farm truck and anz kick a.. I'm pretty sure it's an 1/8 mile though lol. just saying
I would love a first gen cummins built
They need a flat bed with quick easy drive on and drive off tracks.
3/4 bed length work boxes with a decurve at the ends and bring the fith wheel hitch out on a tongue -- which can also be utilized as more bench space
when you need to pull the dodge and ford out of the mud ,snow etc,the CHEVY IS KING!!!
My tractors, semis, and all the rest of my equipment have one thing in common. An inline 6 diesel engine under the hood. So does my pickup. Just the way god intended. Six in a row, built to tow. Eight in a V squat to pee.
Better have a pto and hydraulic remotes, on board air as well!
You should build them a tandem dually flat bedđ 10 speed manual Eaton fuller. Over built is better builtđ
I'm thinking a b model engine meaning what they use in bread trucks đ. Personally I have seen an Allis Chalmers tractor engine, a 3208 in a pickup. So it can be done, just wish someone would rebuild part of the wheel and make a 3208 stronger bosted or bullet proofed. A 2 stroke diesel engine would be killer in a truck also. Drive train needs to be replaced all the way around.
@@natejast1971 totally! For sure! Now time to find the moneyđ
Cool to see you guys right in my backyard. I'm in Ames, IA
I been through Des Moines Iowa many time driving a truck
NOTHING runs like a Deere! Deere all the way!
Props to DB for getting input from farmers. Should be spot-on build.
Also, howâs the Work Truck giveaway going? Thereâs been no info.
International harvester they still make pickup trucks don't they? We have a 1966 1010 John Deere đ cut the grass with it!
Let's get to building that awesome farm truck DPG Style! YeeHawđ
This already seems like an interesting project I might need one too
Very interesting and awesome
@@SparksMotorsCo I have the same spec 03 Ford f250 as theirs. It's been extremely reliable but I bought mine with 110k miles.. I want to put 1 ton leafs springs, a flat bed, and a dually rear axle..
Be a good build here
@@SparksMotorsCo also bds does make some affordable leveling kits for them too
You can have your bells and whistles but no one can convince me there's a need for carpet in a pickup. Spent all my life on the farm or doing some sort of Ag work and the first thing you do is call weathertech or Husky to try to protect the carpet. Rubber floor I get the same floor mats to make it easier to dump the stuff out. I drive fairly plain stuff, I like lots of good light, deer protection out front, a gooseneck ball, better tires but not necessarily a big lift (carli is ok) because trailers need to be able to articulate as they're not all pulled down a level highway.
Ram is the farm truck we wanna see
Awesome đđœ đđœđđœđđœ my hunny and I love watching u guys .!! Dustin say keep it up .!!
If you were to go out to West Texas and look to see what's being run in the oil patch, 90% will be Ford and there is a reason for that, next would be Chev and then a few run Dodge. Ford just holds up better in the rough conditions.
how to get bounced out if my vehicles instantly. put your feet on the dash.
Got to put running boards on for the Iowa farmer can waddle in.
Maybe a mobile mailbox for them crop insurance checks
I think you guys should come to Minnesota and talk to Larson Farms
8400 series, my favorite
Loving the ideas but canât help but feel like your going to be building something thatâs already been done đ€·ââïž if you look at what Brad DeBerti and his dad have already done with truck beds and all the nifty pull out compartments it doesnât leave much room for originality. Canât wait to see what you do build, certainly a great opportunity for your engineers & welder/fabricatorâs to showcase there skills đ
I move to IOWA, there are a lot of stuff to do out here. You should one day take the family to Decorah or Effigy Mounds. There by the Mississippi River.
A good frame truck needs a pothole auger And A T post driver and a T post puller.Roy
Lots of neat stuff to check out in Iowa,
It's a Beautiful state, Iowa đșđž
New SubscriberâŁđ„° you guys do so much amazing work you all never cease to amaze me ... keep up the GREAT work đ
Awwwww ,, you fellers can build anything.
I have
Not a farmer here, but it sounds like you are building an ultimate farm service truck. Maybe look to Baja 1000 Service trucks for some inspiration too. Guys like Carlie and Baja Designs build some great stuff for taking a beating.
There's nothing like a good farm trucks
Lol lets go corn tipping lol need some California muscleđđđ
Lol until Hans gets himself punched out, with his attitude LOL then he can really roll his eyes!
Cow tipping is real.
Towed a tractor an small tractor with my 99' Oldsmobile Bravada SUV, with tool's just thrown all over the back. Bet some farmer is going be lucky.
Iowa John deere man...but just a dodge guy. The old Dodge. The real name. It's split and done different things but all run the same platforms. Its silly. Still gonna love the truck though I'm sure.
When it was Dodge trucks right? When it became Ram brand, they became soccer mom vehicles.
@@jeepanimal2943 yeah but now it seems like something dad can modify to his liking without having to get another vehicle
I painted that sprayer. I work at the Deere plant in Ankeny.
being form Ames Iowa (right between Des Moines and Ogden), that was cool to see.
We previre Valtra is South African althou John Deere is useds the most Valtra is busy taking over.
Love you guys
Ram 4500 Laramie for a starting platform
Nothing hides broken down in the tall fence line green grass like a deere. Lol I had a few of them.
I've noticed this in multiple videos. When hands is describing something they keep the camera on him instead of showing us what he's talking about. He was talking about a light on the truck and the camera was right on his face instead of showing us the light. In the video with the UTVs you do the same thing.
Nice recovery
Some of these Moines, my aunt I'd frommthere and thats what we call it
9:16 He probably trains dragons in his spare time!
ln the 80s l worked for Wee-Haul in Dallas/FtWorth. We used our own trucks to pull 20 ft trailers to do apartment moves tho we did everything that could be hauled in those trailers. This job paid well back then. 800-$1000+ per week for 5 days. Thats 3 grand today. So we saw lots of 1/2 thru 1 ton trucks come and go. That work destroyed trucks. Fords were the only ones that could do it daily w/o fail.
Love the idea.
Are used to live in Oregon about 18 years ago I love the farming
Guys: SAY DE MOIN-THATS the right way. I live in Oakland Iowa 1&1/2 hours west near Council Bluffs
John deer 9620r is the beast of the field
Diesel, come on, not a freakin ford. RAM.
Farm trucks in Iowa need to be crew cab, aluminum flatbed, and grill guard.
Wish I followed social media, I probably would have known they were going to be in the area..
We will be at the farm progress show at the end of the month
Flat bed with slide out tool storage between the bed and frame. Side note you couldn't give me a new holland, they tend too start on fire in regen.
My choice of tractors John Deere 100% I think they got the best interior and they are the most comfortable
Remote controlled 360° work lights are amazing
NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE đŠ
tractor of choice for farming & round the house its team green J.D. and for excavating and heavy earth moving i prefer Cat from my skidsteer to my 935 front end loader
One thing for a perfect farm truck, for me anyway, is NO, absolutely NO LED lights! They do a nasty number on me. đ€ą
No AWD, need the ability to switch back and forth from 2WD to 4WD. A good and study center console with room for papers and at least one regular sized notebook and a couple cubbies for pens and pencils.
A good system for charging phones and other items both in the cab and outside of the cab.
Our Dodge has a new flatbed, the box got messed up when one of the back tires decided to shed the tread so a nice addition to that would be a way to put on and secure different tool boxes that would be needed for different situations. Like changing a pivot tire or having to work on the combine or having to work on the defoliator &/or beet digger......
A good way to switch out the tool boxes yet easily secure them to the flatbed rails as needed.
Durable seat covers!! Especially for the drivers seat! That seat, and that side of the center console, take a daily beating from the drivers. More so than the other seats. Although a tuff back seat cover that is easy to clean, hard to stain, would be handy for when cargo, read greasy parts and oil jugs, is put back there.
We have 2 JD - a 3020 and an 8100 - and 2 Case Magnums and a Case combine. Dodge pick-ups, Freightliner semi and an International that was a semi but converted to a straight truck.
oh now that's a tuffy. I love my Dodge. The Fords have sone nice looking trucks definitely love the square body. Grew up with fords married into dodge. Hmmm
John Deer to the rescue againđđ
Check out Customs and Border Protection tool truck. We had these back in the late 1990's and they had everything you are looking for and more. We could completely take a car apart or an airplane. It is almost as good as the car you rented....
Observation, this channel is the only channel of the three that doesn't link back to the other channels in the profile.
Tools and tool boxes
Iâve already got it. Iâm restoring a 1963 Chevy C60 currently. Needs a new rear end and the 230ci engine seems a little undergunned. Hey! Got a 453T laying around?!
you guys are the best
The elusive Ford 3500
Great video PAINT IT COPPERHEAD YELLOW SWEET THANKS GUYS
Great way to work
