You can also put as many limitations as you want like only the villagers, beach or etc
Not to do with the video but might help in the future apparently if you use the delight reaction on the dodo at the airport and make him blush you’re more likely to get a rare island

honestly its a guessing game. You dont look at it and go “yep thats big” you just note that thats no ordinary fish. I have distinguished it several times, nd thers no efficient way to tell

This was impressive, but if you *really* want to torment yourself with new speedrun categories for Animal Crossing New Horizons, 100 percent the Nook Miles achievements. That would be the ultimate nightmare run to route.
Yeah, I think the one where you have to do like...300 tasks for you villagers I think? That one is enough for me to not even want to try.
@@Dagnel dont forget catching 5,000 fish, 5,000 bugs, 2,500 sea creatures, and crafting 3,000 tools and 3,000 pieces of furniture.
This would be entertaining to watch, for sure. It's soooo much more work than this though 😅
@@dicegremlin744 I’ve been trying to do all of them, and I found coconuts are probably the best for 3,000 furniture cause they regrow, stack in the inventory and can craft into coconut juice using only one. Fuck 3,000 tools though that’ll suck

Something to note is that we also focus on our island development while we play. He only developed the island in this speed run to get the necessary recipes, tools, and NPCs so he could actually complete the museum...

I spent all day trying to catch a mahi-mahi, gave up, decided I would hunt down a few pond fish I was missing, ended up deciding I wanted to go to a mystery island by boat, saw a shadow near the pier and thought “oh I could use a sea bass to cook a recipe” and ended up catching a mahi-mahi 😂

I wonder why this isn't an official category...I guess because of how time intensive it is...but it feels like a great speedrun category.
I mean, the BOTW 100% speedrun is like 48 hours if I remember correctly and even allows breakd because of that. It could totally be a thing.

Honestly, you speedrunning all these fishes is scary, impressive and terrifying at the same time. After 1 year I still struggle with the mahi-mahi. The nervous finger during fishing is such a problem lol

the way i learned to fish well was:
1- close my eyes (i found that i pressed the button too early less when i was only listening for the sound instead of both sound and sight)
2- memorize the sound that the bobber makes when the fish bites, then quietly hum that sound. if the sound is significantly lower than your humming, don’t press the button. eventually you’ll just know when a sound is too low, and you won’t have to hum anymore.
3- RELAX YOUR FINGER!! it’ll feel strange at first, but i promise it’s so much easier to stop yourself from pressing to early if your finger is completely relaxed. you WILL have enough time to catch the fish when it bites, even if it doesn’t feel like you’ll be able to move your finger in time.

I only got the 100 fish in a row yesterday… I had to catch pond fish so it wouldn’t be difficult. I truly suck at fishing lol

Just finished my museum not long ago. It was the july stags that were the bane of my existence. Had to clear out a whole mystery island, plant some extra coconut trees that I brought with me and spent almost 10 hours trying to force the right bugs to spawn (made worse by the fact that I didn't realize how just carefully you had to approach the really rare ones and getting hunted for sport by scorpions the whole time). So satisfying to finally finish. Great vid man. Your dedication is inspiring
i’ve been trying to grind and find that Golden Stag for so long now and it still hasn’t even spawned for me
35:54 I just want to mention that I am a “new” animal crossing player and I love it I played it a little bit during 2020 and then dropped it because of school. I come back to it 2023 sometime in May. I caught a giant clam three times in a row after not playing for a hell of a long time and seeing that they’re apparently rare just makes me feel terrible. During this part he’s going insane at.😅

@@thelegendarypotato6191 Kapp'n is a kappa, not a frog. But I thought Kapp'n's deal was he takes you to mystery islands that have different resources. Like mysterious plants but it's possible the change is for both. They both have the chance to take you to islands with different or extra resources, different seasons and/or times of day
True but it might also save time to just tt and set it to be guaranteed the conditions you want, because if you’re looking for a certain bug in a certain season then there’s a chance you might not even get it when you go to kappn’s islands

@@Kawaiicassie You Just change the time and date on your switch. It doesn’t undo your progress. But if you have turnips and you go backwards, your turnips will rot! So be careful. Also make sure you completely exit out of your game if you do go backwards in time. Otherwise no harm done!

This video is my default when I need to study, sleep, even playing games. Your voice is super calming and this is interesting enough, while not requiring too much focus, that it is probably my fav video I’ve watched in a long time! My anxiety makes it super hard to focus, but videos like these are super good for me when I need to focus.

Same here man. I find it so hard to focus on stuff for any amount of time if I'm not hyper-fixated on it, and I've been working on a big sewing project for like four months now. Every time I see this video in my recommended list, I put it on and get a good hour or so of work done on it, sometimes more if I go to his other videos afterward. I'm hoping to finish the project by Christmas, and, if I do, I'm 100% crediting Dagnel for helping me finish it in time.
I've been doing this to study and I can proudly say that I have completed to day one of my degree's courses. It's not so much work than ideal but having ADHD too and having never accomplished anything like this makes me so proud :)

For example, you give Flo two non-native fruit everyday, while you give Kevin an iron wall lamp everyday and see whose photo you get first, you're the most dedicated AC youtuber I've ever watched, just keep doin whatchu do!!

I left a tire out on my island and it spawned a fly! It was during the summer months so maybe try that!

The outrageous luck with my Dom-Agnes starter island continued earlier when I caught a Blue Marlin, Tuna, and Coelacanth back to back.
omg bulk crafting - the AC Direct basically mentioned every wished thing except this I just noticed. and it's the last free major update omg, I truly hope they will at least add this as some kind of a 'quick fix' update XD

I've been playing ACNH for one year and a day (started December 28th, currently December 29th) and never in that time have I speed ran anything but catching Fish for CJ- this is truly amazing
Once I found this video I have decided to make this a goal of mine. Since this video has appeared and I started watching I like basically stopped doing anything else. Lol now it’s my goal to 100% fill the museum before doing anything else.

There’s 397 villagers and I’m proposing the idea of trying to have each one live at your island for a bit. I know *_THAT_* would be a commitment.
Possible? Yes. Plausible? Hmmm... might take too long, even for me lol
I'm trying to do this but on the looooong run. I usually don't start over my towns and islands, or only restart once.
I guess the fastest way to "catch them all" in AC is to use amiibo cards, but if we limit ourselves to the game only, we have NMT hunting, as well as collecting them from your friends' island. Autofill isn't really good since you don't know who will come over. :/ might be useful in the late collection when mystery islands will be mostly duplicates. Oh and I forgot, the campsite is a way to complement all of this since the visit is so unfrequent.
well if you habe all the amiibo cards it will take 1+ year because a year is 365 days, so if you get one villager everydays. but few days with time travel
Best way I’ve found to fight jumpy thumbs when fishing: tap that twitchy thumb on the side of the switch until the fish bites! It’s never failed me when I remember to do it
never played animal crossing in my life and i could potentially come into possession of a switch before the new year and nothing matters to me more than these gorgeous museums

Omg I can't wait, I've had only finished the fossil part of the museum (I started playing like six months ago) so I'm still pretty behind but I have to collect just eight bugs to complete the bugs part! the collecting things part of the game is my favorite, and i had a blast doing everything but the String fish. That one fish took me 347 bait to catch. 347 times i had to sit there spamming 'A' to get that bait. When i caught the fish it was the only time i didn't want to donate it but i did, and ive played the game since it came out, ive yet to catch another single String fish normally, not with bait. Its so freaking rare for me i dont know why 😂

Dude you got so lucky with those fossils. I’ve been playing since it came out and I haven’t turned in a single new fossil in fucking forever
100% speedrun. probably on this save file to preserve sanity, the additional things you'd need to do is:
pay off all debt
get a 5 star island
collect all golden tools
complete all nook mileage challenges
collect all KK slider songs
have HHA give your house an S rating
collect all clothes, furniture, items, and DIY recipes
only thinking about this gives me a headache, ans i did some of these already

After over 400 sea creatures I finally got the sea pig- and multiple King Crabs which sell for quite a nice profit which is also how I've been making bells, filling my inventory with sea creatures and selling them all, about an hour's work will be 100k bells which was extremely great for my house payments
Made it to the end of the video! I don't know why I enjoyed it SO MUCH but it was incredibly fun to watch and I can't even imagine how satisfying it would be to walk in you museum to see it full, or look at your critterpita and have no empty spots!

Fun fact: On my recently restarted island, within the first three days I caught 3 Golden Trout and 2 Stringfish. Growing up playing almost every single Animal Crossing game, I've never once caught a Stringfish before. This island's a keeper, lmao
@imbored don't worry our switch died again n my island wasn't backed up so I had to restart again and not only was my campsite villager Raymond but I caught like three more stringfish and two more golden trout pretty early in so maybe it's just me 💅

im planning on getting a switch soon in order to play new horizons after finally feeling complete with my new leaf island, so ive been into watching a bunch of new horizons videos so i can get a feel for it and gosh this was so nice to watch whilst i did some homework, super enjoyable. im not sure how you made running around collecting bugs relaxing and fun to watch but ill definitely be back here in the future when im out of motivation to work on my museum !

what do you do in new leaf exactly? like whats the purpose (genuinly asking ive wanted to play it) but to me it seems like you just kinda fish, catch bugs, decorate inside ur house, and thats abt it?
@@imagery um yeah pretty much! as someone whos been playing since 2014 and restarted my island more times than i can count, the things are very limited. theres still the fishing and big catching comps, but aside from that the only things you can do i collecting bugs and fish ext, upgrading the town and shops, or going diving on the tropical island,, but im waiting till my switch arrives because im excited for the new opportunities on how to play in new horizons!

When trying to turn a normal island into a tarantula island, your best bet is to chase off the hermit crabs. They are technically bugs and tarantulas will spawn in the same places (on the beach, crazy right?)

Thanks to history classes I now know what the motherly statue is based on. It is based on the legends of Romulus and Remus, in which they were raised by a she-wolf. Anyone interested should look it up!
