Question what’s the red cable that goes to the ignition for ?
Do you like the radio? I installed a touchscreen. It has no knobs. Its more of a pain to raise and lower the volume whole drive to have to look at the radio, find the plus sing, and then tap it while driving. It came with a remote but it is not lighted. And I lost it already.
Use the Yellow Sunroof Wire in the drivers side A-pillar, even if you don't have a sunroof it's there behind a little tape. It's off the RAP Relay which will work great.
I notice there are two connector in back of that factory radio what did you do with the other one I buy a harness and it only has one hook up...

How did you go about taping into the green plug?
I’m doing a install like this but non Bose system with PAC gm1a-r in trying to figure out what is my amp wire from the truck. I connected the blue to the blue and white and my it works but I turn my volume to max to barely hear any sound. Any suggestions?

If I don't buy "the data bus interface" should I just disconnect the green connector under the steering wheel and not connect the red stereo wires?
You will need to connect the red wire coming off the harness to an ignition or accessory wire underneath the steering column
Any recommendation on speakers that would pair nicely with this stereo without adding an amp? 2005 Colorado with the tweeters in the front upper door panels. Would like to replace tweeters, front, and rear doors for a complete new system for my daughter.

i installed a new radio everything is wired correctly only it wont power onbat all now the only thing thats not connected is the vehicle antenna now does it need the antenna for power stupid question i know but 🤔 after so many radios installed never had this happened any ideas 🥴🥴😁

can you connect your phone via bluetooth to listen to music? i want a new radio in my 2012 colorado so i can pair my phone and listen to my playlists on apple music.
Why isn’t the ignition wire not already directed to the existing radio wiring harness? And why does it need to be modified for the aftermarket radio?
This is only if you use a cheap harness. It's a difference between 10 or $15 for a cheap harness or $39 to $100 for the more expensive harness that does the rap circuit to provide switch ignition

You linked two head units to the video, both are xavax5000 but seem to be different sizes?
Both still work without modifications?
Both are exactly the same some people just put exact dimensions versus rounded dimensions
So there were 2 plugs going into the factory radio. So the smaller plug is not used at all in the Sony hook up and just sits free behind the new radio install, correct?
this is what I was wondering as well being my new radio only has a spot for the bigger plug
Hello. I had an aftermarket double din Boss radio installed to replace my original radio just like you did in my ‘05 Chevy Colorado. A local company did it and as a result I don’t have a door chime anymore. So when my lights are on and I open my doors there is no chime to remind me. I went back to the installers and they said I need a special harness…I don’t really believe them but now I’ve left my lights on numerous times and killed my battery. Any thoughts?

For the GMOS01 plug, where do you plug in the 3.5mm that's on the harness
If you're talking about the headphone jack that will plug into the steering wheel or remote port on the back of your radio but you will probably have to have an aswc to make that work

@@coryallenb38 you will probably need a premium audio that way you can turn on the amplifier. You might be able to use the cheaper harness if you connect the Blue with white wire that is the wire that fires up the amplifier

If you buy the correct harness which is a gmrc-01 or gmosone you will not have to do that part. Basically those harnesses provided ignition but the one that I used in the video does not. So if you do not want to do that step make sure you buy the correct harness and it will provide that for you

@@SidewayzTre you will just wire up every color to match each other except for the red wire you will run that to the ignition which is shown in the video period it is located underneath the plastic in the steering column
