Before you drop a fuel tank on a pickup, consider unbolting then lifting the bed. It can give you access to the pump without the hassle of dropping the tank. You normally don't even have to remove the bed, just jack it up a foot or two on one side to give yourself room to work on the pump.

Love your videos! I have an 06 chevy colorado extended cab and a slightly different code (P0446) popped up one day. I had to replace the fuel pressure sensor on the gas tank. Was a relatively simple and cheap fix for $15 and 20 minutes. The fuel tank pressure sensor is mounted on the top of the pump module on the top side of the gas tank. It can be accessed, without dropping the tank, on a Std Cab or Ext Cab. You have to take the back driver side tire off and remove the wheel well skirting then you can see the top of the tank and the pump module and might have shown exactly where the leak is.

I've owned since brand new a 2009 Colorado equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. It now has 90,000 miles on it. Other than the rear shock absorbers and a sun visor, the vehicle has never required any repairs--Only routine maintainence. It runs perfectly, no rattles, and the air conditioning blows mounds of cold air, which is very important here in the hot state of Florida. It has been well over a year since the truck has even been in the repair shop. I change the oil myself. No complaints whatsoever!

It's been a good truck but the frame rust up here in New York has absolutely destroyed it really I mean I've patched it up as I'm a welder but I'm going to be honest they rust out. If you could find a nice two-wheel drive extended cab or something with a stick shift for under three grand that will pass inspection I think that would make you happy. My Colorado ran like a clock, my EVAP code was due to a bad Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, and I had an EVAP port under the hood on mine... also my vent canister took a few seconds to remove it wasn’t over the gas tank..
Colorado with 200k miles does better than my friends 4 runner money pit

Scotty. Every county that touches Davidson county... except for Cheatham county has to pass emissions tests.

It's the evap canister located behind the spare tire. I own a 2005 and had to replace that twice now.

Oh, and the evap hook up is located behind the drivers side front wheel. Jack it up and you can find it without removing the wheel.

If you have to get access to a gas tank on a truck, its 10 times easier to just pull the bed off.
Loosen 6 to 8 bolts from the frame to the bed, take out the screws to the gas nozzle, disconnect the tail lights.
You just have to get someone to help lift the bed off the truck, or find a way to hoist it off.
That way you dont have to worry about breaking the gas lines, or tearing hoses, or tearing the wires going to the sending unit, from dropping the tank from underneath.
Thats the way I`ve always done it, and it`s not near as tedious.

I just put RTV around my canister where it cracked. Never leaked again for years. Didn't want to spend $300 for a new one.

I am not above cutting a hole in a truck bed to access fuel pumps or whatever. Did it on a 93 Sonoma. Easy to cover over if you aren't OCD about a perfect bed in an old truck.

Scotty is too lazy to fix this one. The cannister isn't on top of the tank you literally see it right above the spare tire. Abs light is probably just from an abs sensor that is really easy to do on these 2wd colorados.

TN doesnt have vehicle inspections. But as soon as they drive out of state, they get pulled over. Ive been amazed of the vehicles running on the road held together with nothing but duct tape.
