A great hunt and a great dog
This reminds me of squirrel hunting with my deceased daddy. We hunted them exclusively with a 28 gauge and 410 double barrel. I rarely killed one because I was a bad shot, but daddy was an expert shot in the Army. They weren't getting away from him!
I love these shows so much. Truly a state treasure!
I remember hunting them 200 years ago when I was a kid. Back then, you can actually catch plenty with your bare hand but now they are too smart and sophisticated.

I use peanut butter in my trap. So far since March 2020 I’ve caught 65 squirrels and 2 skunks. My daughter wanted to save the skunk until she took a direct hit to the mouth. Nice shooting, makes me want to get my Marlin mod 60 out!
I remember 20 something years ago I was turning on my uncle's Farm in St Louis and I shot in the nest and got three at one time my mom used to love squirrels rest in peace mother and that was a good day for me I was able to feed my mother

Darrell's rifle is a Remington 581. That was the first rifle I ever owned, bought it new in 1980 when I was 13. I still have it and it is still a tack driver, will make quarter size groups at 50 yards even with cheap bulk ammo. Great little .22!

I take my Dachshunds squirrel & rabbit hunting. They hate when I pull out my crossbow to go deer hunting but if I get a "stick to make squirrels fall out of trees" they are so wound up as to be impossible to deal with.

Darrell has a lot of squirrels from this hunting excursion. What does he do with a lot of meat? I used to shoot squirrels in my oil palm garden but I often missed the target. Only after several shots, I slowly knew the tricks of accuracy at my gun sights. Show more of similar videos, I like them as an entertainment while sipping hot coffee at my leisure hours.

There ain't a cut of meat in the finest restaurant in the world that will beat the taste of properly cooked squirrel.
Depends on where you live too. Also I can tell when an area has been hunted or not, squirrel will act differently towards people, but they wise up quickly.
Not only delicious, but in my opinion, squirrel drippings make the best gravy. Good luck.

That little dog is a real squirrel dog. Love to see a good dog in action. The wood stocked rifle is a Remington 581, and looks to be in very good condition. I have owned one since 1979, and still have it today. They are fine little shooters, very accurate, and have gained a stellar reputation by shooters, hunters, and gun collectors.

It's easier to find a Hunter Safety course to learn how to shoot in relative safety than it is to find an Internet Safety course to learn how to navigate social media safely.
Funny thing with times I've taken my dog, 90% of the time the things are running, rarely have sit real still for me.

today i achieved the impossible, shot two squirrels with one shot! ( cci quit segmented hollow point 22lr) so i had to watch a hunting video.
Haven't pulled that trick yet, heck my dad did 2 deer with 1 shot years ago with his 30-06. Haven't done that 1 either

You guys are amazing shots! The only squirrel hunter i knew was my uncle back in the 60s and 70s and he used a shot gun which made it a lot easier. When he and my grandma cooked squirrel stew biscuits and gravy my grandma would set out tea saucers for us to spit out the buckshot. I never knew before watching this video you can hunt squirrel with a rifle! Lol!

Looked unlocked, but it didn't look open. Around here if you hunt a fella's place, and he asks you not to open a gate, you climb it whether it is unlocked or not. Period.
It was chained shut.
The gate just moved a little because of the slack in the chain
You all had a nice trip getting the squirrels and got five of them. When I was hunting we would get our share of them, but I stopped hunting years ago and don't hunt anything now that don't come out of the store. My guns are strictly for self defense now and I can get more than what I need from the grocery stores.

Okay I/m looking to get me a Ruger 10/22 and put a red dot scope with 3x magnification on it and how far should I sight it in for perhaps 30 yards at least ?
The clip on his rifle looked just like the 10-shot one on my Remington Mohawk 10c (Kmart version of Nylon 66). Very enjoyable video! My Hatsan Striker 1000x .22 could've taken all those shots. It's good to an average of some 60 yards hole-in-a-hole or close to it.

A couple years ago, some kids thought it was a brand new gun & were some disappointed that Remington doesn't make them anymore.

Hey Darrel started out as talk show. I have one. Ready. By the angle your shooting tree top high how far will 22 long rifle. Go . and clue where it will hit. only reason I ask as a young boy Im in my 60 now have no cule then or now .At one TIME some say a mile others may be mile and half. What or where it will hit still dont know. Brings me back to hunter safety . teach young people know your target and whats beyound. Ask that before one reply nevet kill any one yet. Only fools thing i can think of they looking for that unlucky shot before they say their.
