I tried doing the software update a couple of days ago on my iPhone 12 and had the same problem: the screen turned black and green lines appeared. Now I can't use the phone anymore and need to buy a new one.
Replace the screen with 3rd party screen.Also share this video to aware your near and dear ones
My first choice is iPhone 13 only later I feel about display size a battery backup so I purchase iPhone 14 Plus BBsale last yr 2023 I got on 58k ! Still beast of big display ❤❤❤❤

Don't Update
i have iphone 14 , in ios 17.4 i had terrible battery life so i decided to upgrade to ios 17.5.1 since then i am getting great battery backup. (Note: i have 17.5.1 and have not updated since.....waiting for stable version of ios 18

How's that even possible i have an iphone 12 pro running 17.5.1 just fine and i have the latest iphone 15 pro. My 12 pro can handle the software and the younger 13 can't? That sounds bullshit to me
