whoever did the original tile job was a real expert. I have removed tile before and it came up a lot easier. 🙂
Oh my Gosh, just super genius to do it this way. I need to take 6meters of tile off and you just showed me how! Tank you so much from Mexico
YOU are being so gentle, not trying to break the tile… amazing. I have travertine and want to remove it.,.
I just tried it and it worked great!
Thanks, it's nice to get ideas that just work!!
if you apply heat with a method such as an iron, torch, or boiled water, the ceramic will expand and release the cement underneath more easily.
Thanks for that. Brilliant.
Wait so I put boiling water on some of the tiles I want up they will come up without cutting the grout?
@@CarCrazyGhostyou need to remove the joints
gonna try boiling water method 😅 thanx for the tip 🙏🏻
best video out there for removing tile thanks
Oh Lord, thank you so much. I will try this and hope to be successful
Today lm going to remove some tiles thank you so much for the idea
nice job
Thank you, that was great, but I do I clean the back side of the tile from the old "tile- cement"? Thank you.
Thank you proving it's possible.
Just like magic 👍🏽
Great video! This method seems to work and I'm going to try it.
Good technique if you want to save the old tile
So the blade on the angle grinder was a grout blade?
Angle grinder works really well if not faster. But I had to test this first. Thanks.
I wonder if torching them would be helpful
But how do you get the first one up?
😮 work thanks
I need to do this! I had a bad replacement of tiles done that don’t match in the kitchen and other half bathroom. I am planning a full remodel in the main bathroom and wanted to use the tiles to replace the non-matching ones in the other room. Does this same technique work on tile over concrete?
Yep! That's what this was. Good luck on your remodel!
Thanks for the demonstration! But did you destroy the two adjacent tiles to be able get to the one you removed? And now that you have two fewer tiles how will you fill that space? I wish there was a liquid solution that would dissolve the grout.
I needed a time that broke in an easy to see area.
I am going to go into a closet or under the stove or fridge to try to get the tile out.
If I have to put a different tile in the closet, under the stove or fridge this will be a good option
So how do you remove the first tile without breaking it?
MRED Most likely you would be removing the tiles starting from a threshold of two materials. Start there.
nice, but in this case you have two adjacent tiles which have been already removed. how can you remove the first tile without breaking it ?
Shahar S. You’ll most likely be starting at an edge, a threshold between two materials. That one will just take some patience. While this method doesn’t work 100% of the time you have a good chance of being successful if you take some time.
Now how do you go about getting the mortar off the bottom of the removed tile piece? I'm about to do this and want to reuse them if I need to, though I may not.
If you fully submerge the tile in water it will soften and loosen the adhesive on back of tile.
Good luck getting a backbuttered tile out set in modified thinset.
A good job, well done.
Reading the comments, it would look as though some people just do not have the patience to do this kind of work.
Which brand of blade did you use to remove the grouting?
Sorry for the late reply! Used a DEWALT Oscillating Tool Blade for Grout Removal, Fast Cutting, Carbide (DWA4220).
How did you remove first tile?
This what i came to find as well
Yes, that is a tool for the job.
Is that the same as an Oscillating tool?
.... It's the tool he using RightNow Even HE SAID IT!
@@pherrophillips8214 I heard multi tool, no need to be rude, I know nothing about tools. Forgive me for asking, if it makes you so mad, why even bother responding? Just move on.....
@@cheryllynn8451 didn't mean the caps was just typing fast
Can I use a circular action tool or does it have to oscillate?
Well yeah if you can measure the depth of the cut with the tool, its possible with circular saws and angle grinders
I have 60 x 60 centimeters tiles to remove from my floor it's very difficult to remove give me some advide
1 down 50 to go
Smash and scrape with multi tool seems a lot easier to me lol and quicker
I always thought my multitool is loud...
QUICKLY???
Now how do you take a tile off in the middle of a room lol
And the title reads quickly
Took him five minutes to pull up one tile? 🤔
if it was fix properly no chance of getting it up it would break
Your mul tie tool is too slow unless only removing one tile. A grinder with masonary blade is best. As for bashing the putty knife with a hammer? ? That's a sure way of breaking it. Try a rubber mallet. Anyway i was expecting a more efficient approach to this problem.
Quickly!!??
Don't agree with the QUICKLY part of the title
😂 Samuel Nasta it’s quick once you get the hang of it. And it’s faster than searching for a matching tile that may be out of stock at the store . Lol!
a mask cant hurt
