  • Welcome to another Episode of Ring Them Bells
This is a very important clip for our most recent interview with author Nijay Gupta, going over his book "Strange Religion."
With election season upon us Christian Nationalism is on the rise in America. This channel stands against having allegiance to any other nation than the Kingdom of God which is Ruled by our King Jesus. This is foundational to the Gospel message. So many brilliant writers are helping us see how to live that out faithfully in this tense political climate we find ourselves in. The Book Strange Religion will help you follow Jesus more closely in these tense times.

I watched the full interview, it was great, but I am glad that you are putting up short clips from your interviews because it's rare I have time to watch a long one. I wish that all podcasters who do multi-hour interviews would do that.

I am loyal towards my nation, although with the existing political environment and the direction of the American culture it's becoming increasingly difficult. But, I ABSOLUTELY pledge my allegiance to the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ as it's King and Ruler.

There are spiritual rulers over different geographical areas. These rulers impose their personalities upon nations. Therefore, if you aliegence to a country, you also (even though you may not understand it) pledge aliegence to the principality over that country. 'sounds absurd to the post-modern mind, don't it?

Absolutely nailed it! Listen to the full interview! Decentralized home churches (followers) is what King Jesus established through the Holy Spirit through Grace.

You completely misunderstand what MOST people you call "Christian Nationalist" believe. God, His Kingdom, and His purposes are where our loyalties lie, and our hope comes from. NOT a politician, political party, or a nation. But those things matter, and we should do our best to stand in the way of evil and promote the goodness of God while we are here. Have someone like Doug Wilson on your podcast and have an actual conversation with someone who might bring some clarity.

With love and respect as family in Christ, I totally disagree. I've spent many hours listening to people Doug Wilson and Joel Webbon talk about theonomy and I truly believe that it's not just wrong, it's satanic. The enemy would love nothing more than for the church to use the satanic and worldly means of violence and coercion (government) to accomplish the godly ends of the kingdom. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. My intent is not to start an argument but I truly feel like this is one of the most dangerous ideas being spread today.

Doug Wilson and clarity should never be mentioned in the same sentence. He is the king of being ambiguous.

We are called to be the salt of the earth and a light. We are not called to enforce our faith on unbelievers via the government. We know the world is evil and will get even more so. We were never commanded to stop the flow of evil. We were called to be obedient to Yahweh, even if it costs us our freedom or life.
This American Christian Nationalism movement is working against Yahweh and following some post millennial type of eschatology where they believe they can save the country by mandating the bible as law and thereby usher in the Kingdom of Yahweh. Its just not biblical. Yahweh will usher in His Kingdom and he doesn't need anyone's help to accomplish this.

Christian Nationalism is not compatible with the Gospel. Any thought process that Unites a professed follower of Jesus to the nation they live in rather than to the Kingdom of God goes against the entire narrative of Scripture.
God’s solution for the world is not a Christian nation. God’s solution for the corrupt nations is Jesus. We are proclaiming Jesus as king to all corrupt nations ruled by both wicked spiritual and human powers. Hope that helps ✌️❤️🔔

Look at the story of Barrabas. He was a Jew who was tired of living under the oppression of Rome. What happened to his attitude? He was so bitter he became an outlaw and committed crimes against OT laws. While viewed as a hero for stealing arms and killing soldiers his political philosophy of fighting the government by any means necessary was used as the example of what Jesus died for. Jesus life was exchanged for Barrrabas’s life. Jesus died an innocent man so that Barrabas could live. My heart is rebellious. That rebelliousness is clearly seen in my disobedience for not praying for our government and its leadership, especially because I hate their corruption. I am still commanded to pray for them. It’s my greatest failure.

Frankly more than a little superficial. Jesus has all authority on heaven and earth, that includes having his laws and commands obeyed by the nations and then judging and punishing them when they aren’t observed, its what every King of the ANE did, make laws judge and punish. He told us to disciple the nations that certainly means proclaiming his saving work as King as well as his commands.
The whole alien thing is misunderstood, Paul utilized his Roman Citizenship to advance the ends of the Gospel. The aliens of Hebrews 11:33 “conquered kingdoms” by faith.

    • @ringthembells143
      @ringthembells143  Před měsícem +1

Sorry Dan there is just one important thing missing… The Gospel. The gospel is the announcement of Jesus as king of the world. All power and authority has been given to him. Paul utilized his Roman citizenship to spread the gospel. But Paul was not considered a Roman nationalist, I hope you can see the difference. Any thought process that align a Christian with their nation rather than the kingdom of God (which is all nations combined) goes against a very narrative of scripture and the gospel that Jesus came proclaiming✌️❤️🔔

I did not forget the gospel, it indeed announces Christs Kingship, but kingship consists of 12 things in the Bible not just salvation. Kings establish, unite, provide for, command, test, judge, punish, conquer the enemies of and renew their kingdoms. The reign of Christ includes all these things.
The gospel also produces the reign it announces as the word of God, it converts and subjects men to Christs rule, and when earthly rulers are subjected to Christ they will rule in accordance with his rule as defined by the functions of kingship listed above.
I believe that God created nations and providentially places us in the nation of our birth, as Christians we are supposed to preach the reign of Christ, this announces the validity of his reign over the nations and also limits the scope and power of the nations. God alone is the only one that has authority to establish and create empire. When nations do it they infringe upon the soveriegn reign of God and they always fail.
Our duty is indeed to the reign of Christ first if their is ever a conflict between earthly rulers and Christ, and yes their can be. But nations are defacto either Christian or pagan/secular and we should strive to make this nation christian, i.e. disciple it.
This is more in line with a Biblical and not just NT view of Christian political theory, at least the shortsighted NT political theory as defined by the presenter in your video.
If you really do not believe Christians can be citizens of the KOG and particular nations too, you should renounce your American citizenship.
