I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. Actually, Zayn has not been on stage for a while now. Unfortunately, he deals with anxiety attacks ... He didn t perform any songs of his latest album as far as I know. Wish we will be able to hear him more in the future ! :)
Zayn Malik is so amazing! He sang those high notes so effortlessly! But I love Bruno Mars, he is probably the only one singer in this generation that can remind me of 80s/90s. Something about his way of singing and emoting is magical.
Bruno is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Zayn on voice quality, songwriting ability, musicianship and live performance charisma

Zayn has a great technique and can sing well, but Bruno Mars is on ANOTHER LEVEL. Bruno's voice is a lot more emotive, he has so much more charisma and presence on stage, you can feel he leaves his heart on the stage, plus his vocal tone is a lot more distinguishable and memorable. In addition, Bruno is a FANTASTIC songwriter, has written all of his hit records and has amazing musicianship, playing instruments extremely well. His songs like "Just The Way You Are" or "Locked Out Of Heaven" are already contemporary classics.
MV maybe because Zayn has anxiety issues. If he were as confident as Bruno, Zayn would be the best singer on earth no doubt. His former members of 1D have said they wish the world could hear Zayns real voice. They said it’s the best thing they’ve ever heard. But it seems to only come out when he’s in his room alone

This is very unfair - Zayn is an excellent singer but he doesn't have any live performance post-1D era. So I think it's unfair to compare Mars and Malik.
@Hutch Rivers Didn't Zayn go solo in 2015? It appears he hasn't toured in support of his 2 studio albums. As for clips of Bruno, none were more current than 2013. Wonder who selected the clips.

@@mnti129 Bruno is more iconic and famous than Zayn but that doesn't mean necessarily better. Bruno might have a better and more timbre tone than Zayn and it makes sense as he is a lyric tenor however Zayn is much better in terms of control as well as vocal range. Zayn takes it in falsettos and headvoice too. Zayn also has much more better ability to do vocal riffs and runs. Bruno is only better in terms of tone and technique while Zayn takes it in vocal range, headvoice/falsetto as well as vocal runs.
@@jayhawk6966 Bruno is a countertenor and Zayn is a full-lyric tenor(I think). In an overall analysis, Zayn has a better technique and, as it seems, he has a little bit more of control of his voice, since he sings in both ranges( high and low) using a lot of different mistures( falsetto, headvoice, mixed voice, chest voice) and for a male who isn't even a Light lyric tenor it's quite impressive. Bruno has a high pitched voice which enables him to sing in these high places(same as Zayn) with less effort but it compesates his lower range that is pretty weak; He doesn't have a superb technique, he basically pushes his voice to the edge and plays a lot with headvoice; he has a good agility but it's something natural to his kind of voice and if comparable with Zayn's limitations of fach it just points out the difference between them in the matter of technique, since for Bruno he doesn't really need a proper technique to sing in those high places since he has a voice that can sustain it even through he usually strains a lot. Overall, Zayn Indeed has better technique but he doesn't have the emotion deliver that bruno has in his music AND in his live performances an neither he can dance as much as bruno and yet have good vocals. So, by these terms I would put them in the same level of quality and ability, but pointing out for Brunos writing skills, guitar, piano, et cetera, because if we count that on, he's by far a better artist than Zayn.

Of course you're surprised by Zayn. Many people are as well because he definitely does NOT get the credit he deserves. This video shows just 0,01% of his abilities and his talent. When he would get much more exposure and credit for what he is capable of, more people would know that he is also one of the best of his generation.

Not only Bruno Mars is a great singer, his stage presence, charisma, versatility are outstanding. Besides, he dances throughout his concerts plus plays the piano and drums. Zayn can sing, but he needs to work on his enunciation and expressiveness. Most of the time he seems to concentrate more on his vocal gymnastics than on conveying the emotions contained within the song. Bruno is just a better singer, musician (guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboard), and performer. He is the total package and then you throw in his other talents: songwriter, record producer, dancer, choreographer, and music video director.
Zayn also needs to expand his versatility. He is limited to pop and r&b/alternative r&b at this time. Time will only tell whether he can adapt his voice and style to suit other genres. Bruno has already proven he can move between r&b, funk, pop, soul, reggae, rock, and hip hop successfully.
Completely agree hit the nail on the head! Bruno’s the better singer, musician, and the versatility with genres he covers. Also he reminds me of a lot of the great 80s-90s pop icons.
That’s why zayn is a bit underrated. He’s heavily influenced by r&b music that’s why he left that band. The pop music and rock music isn’t him. I don’t think he’ll try to make it suit him either sadly.

Zayn hasn’t performed much ever since his departure from one direction so your not gonna see much live performances from him. These clips are from like 2013-2015. He’s very underrated because of that. But yeah Bruno is amazing

I know but they’re soo much live performances. It’s only 1 clip of zayn live by himself and he’s been solo for 4 years and put out two albums. But due to his anxiety and mental state he hasn’t been live much.
What if you do a vocal battle between Justin and Zayn since those 2 have been put in comparison and vocal battles more often than Zayn and Bruno.
Because they have a very different kind of voice and can't realy be conpared. Zayn is more similar to Bruno, while Justin can be better compared with Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Justin Timberlake, or even Michael Jackson (they have some similarities especialy the younger version of them)
