I feel like there's no other library on the market that gets as intense and loud as this library. In the Marcato patch it is a true FFFF. Other libraries like Cinebrass is a relaxed FF-FFF in between and others barely manage FF. The Marcato with accent can be a good writing/general sketch patch and the legato is just sublime. Especially the french horn.

I think Cinematic Studio Siries is the best orchestral package you can have!

I love the video, Christopher! I currently have the Symphonic Brass from Spitfire, but I may replace it with this, as this sounds fantastic. Would the cinematic studio series be great if you do a mockup and transfer it to notation? I ask this because many libraries put the Legato patches in a separate folder, and I like to use key switches as my pieces become more organized.

Yes, Spitfire always put the legato patches in a separate folder. I don't know why that is. With CSB you have all in one patch and can control everything via keyswitches like legato on/off, legato type, marcato layer on/off. Most of the times I just use the Marcato Legato patch which is an all-purpose-weapon!

how do you program a quick run with CSB... pls do the first few bars of Gabriels oboe on trumpet as a demo... they really don't tell us how to do fast melodic lines in any videos and i'm really stuck pls help

I own this library. For me, I find it really hard to justify on my go to palette which generally is Orchestral Tools Berlin Series and Infinite Brass. It just doesn't seem to do anything better. Nothing is "worse", so to speak; but it is a library for me that kinda is what it is and nothing more. Other than the dark, moody feel that all CS product have, it just doesn't stand out.

Totally understand! CineBrass is my go-to, but sometimes I like to turn to the solo trumpet and horn in this library for really lyrical solos.

Thanks for the input! I already own CineBrass and CSS/CSSS, so this helps to know that investing in CSB on top of that probably is not worth it in my case.

Thank you Christopher for this Video.I am making toughts to buy the whole CSS.But still not sure. But: its sounding much better then the Spitfire Studio Series.Espaecially here this Cinematic Brass.Much better !
The Spitfire Studio Bras are sounding very strange in my opinion. The Strings and Wooods are ok and good. But nothing more. All ranges from this Serie sounding garish for me .

Do you play these right out of the box, or do you add any additional processing?

    • @ChristopherSiu
