- Nice clean example of a 1976 YZ 80. Many people grew up riding this bike when they were kids. This is a pretty clean example with the original tires grips and most of the original plastic except for the rear fender and the tank is also original paint.
Gorgeous! Awesome bikes. I had a '77 YZ80, then a 1980 model. Those suckers screamed.
My first and only bike is a YZ80F - 1979 model. Glad I still have it, has not run for almost maybe 10 years. When I rode it last, still never gets old, when you hit that powerband, still get that rush, always get off with a big smile on your face! I am sure I would still now.
I had one of these when I was a kid. Loved that thing. Been looking for another one
i always wanted one of those when i was a kid, i'm 62 now and still want one!
This was my first bike. Bought it used around '79 for $300 when I was 11 or 12 years old. Mine was silver but I painted it Yellow. Man I loved that bike.
WoW, loved seeing this vid, brought back many great memories. This was my first dirt bike. Bought it from a neighbor kid who bought it brand new and broke his arm on it within his first two weeks of riding it. I lived on that bike every day after school. Back then Bob Hannah was my idol. Very cool vid, thanks for posting.
Saweeeet! That was the mini to have in 76.
Brings back beautiful memories! My first bike ! My father said he was off to buy a new tractor and came home with one of these for me! I rode the wheels off that thing and loved zipping around the bush on it! I was only fourteen years of age and could rebuild the engine with my eyes shut! Super reliable, super quick and super simple little engine! ❤
Pretty sweet! the first dirtbike I was on was a 1985 YZ80 black and yellow... it scared the crap out of me! especially once that power band kicked in.. that and i was only 11..lol I'm pushin 40 now. and time fly's just about like that bike did! but I also had one with the metal gas tank I thought was an 84?.. my friends gave to me.. it needed a carburetor. never could get it fixed so I ended up giving it back to my friends for parts for the yellow and black one. you see how true friends treated each other back then... we just gave each other stuff! it was never about money... it was about the fun of having a dirtbike!
Hannah ! Too TaLL ! The 70s were so much fun . . .
beautiful example of this old model
Thanks. She’s in great condition and when you started her up, it brought back memories and a smile.
Just picked one up, almost as clean. Absolutely love this bike. Yes, I had a 1974 YZ80 and laid the shocks down like this back in '74. LOVE the '76 I just got!!
I had the same exact bike when I was about 11 yrs old. It was beautiful and very very quick. Wo
My cousin had a 77 model he raced it in the 80cc 2 stroke class mini motorcross.
I sure remember those yz80 days very well that was my 1st actually running bike 1980 yz80
Mine was 1974 Silver with Red stripes, 1st year .
Cool little bike! Cool to see..theres one on display in the Troy Lee shop in Corona,CA. I had a new '75, it was awesome
I had one was USED (not new) when I got it and had the same grips, sounds the same brother had a 1980 IT 125 and dad a Yamaha 1979 IT250 man that brings back memories for sure. Seems like yesterday today still got 2 strokes RM125/RM250 both 2004 models.
Very nice mostly original 76 yz80! Hard to believe you can still find them in this condition. Most were passed along friends and neighbors and were pretty beat up. I found one in 2001 sitting in the warehouse of a dealer in PA that was almost as nice but I did a total restore and bike is sitting in my living room showroom condition. Many good memories riding in fields behind my house in NJ before everything became illegal nowadays
