Sweet video! Just to point out that Rosh Hashanah is the one holiday that is actually 2 days long in diaspora and in Israel :) Also for the candle blessings since the first night is tonight, Friday night, you make the blessing "shel Shabbat v' Yom Hazikaron" as well as the "Shehechiyahu" blessing. Second night is "Shel Yom Hazikaron" and "Shechiyanu". The blessings should be listed in the Rosh Hashanah prayer book "machzor". Shana Tova everyone! May we have a year of redemption and blessings!
This is AMAZING! My family is Jewish, and i was raised not very religiously jewish, but ended up converting to christianity as a teenager. Now my daughter is interested in becoming religiously Jewish so our family is starting to celebrate, which is a little weird since i'm Agnostic, but this is so much fun!!!!
Actually, Christians should be celebrating these holidays, none of that Christmas pagan crap.

This year, for the second day of Rosh Hashanah, my synagogue is having a socially distant service at a local baseball stadium. That way, we can hear the shofar in person with the congregation safely!

@@ruthnoahide9052 what i did was some research on different Jewish movements and then go to different synagogues of the movement that I like best. talk to a rabbi or two from the synagogues you like most and they can guide you through the whole process. best of luck !
Your candleholders are lovely. I like the specialness of the round challah, like the great mandella, the wheel of life. It is wonderful to have pieces, like the shofar, that come with happy memories of childhood. Your kitchen looks both bright and cozy. Glad you are settling into it.

@@MyJewishMommyLife this year our farm was burnt by the big Bush Fires in January. However since January, this has been the best season my husband remembers and is up there with the best his Dad has ever seen. There is always a positive if we look for it. The grass is greener on our farm today ☺️ Love from Australia.

Totally agree with you about baking your own round challah - they look fancy, but are so easy to pull off, probably easier than a traditional braid. I've been on a real tear and have had to drop off challot early this year, for friends and family to freeze for later this week. They've all been very happy to rehome them for me, thank goodness. Gonna be baking up a storm on Thursday, so lots more challah to come in our house. :) Shanah tovah!

Always fun to watch your movies. Just wanted to add 2 things. Rosh Hashana is the only chag that is a 2 day holiday also in Israel. When u light the candles u have a second bracha of shehecheyanu vekiyemanu vehigiyanu lazman haze. Shana Tova to all🍎🍯

As a Messianic Jew my family has never really celebrated our heritage, now that I am married with my own kids I am trying to learn and teach my kids about our heritage. My wife has been a huge driving force behind it, despite not being Jewish herself. Also she is excited to try your Brisket recipe. It is so lovely! ❤So I am going to do make the Challah , and a traditional honey cake for Rosh Hashanah , I was wondering if you had any pointers or honey cake recipes you could share? I am also doing a Simanim salad ( any advice? ) and I am doing both pomegranates and apples this year too versus just the honey crisp apples alone.... Im also doing an orange dressing for salad instead of lemon. If you have any advice , recipes or anything you add I would so appreciate it ! Thanks!❤

Is an usual mix and balance i know) so i used every ingredient accept the eggs and the whiskey. I have have to tell you it is THE perfect honey cake . the kids loved taste testing it too! I definitely have the thumbs up and green-light-go-ahead on this recipe for Rosh Hashanah. Thank you ❤

Most Conservative and Reform synagogues (if not almost all) are putting out links to their services so I would try the ones closest to you or that you like. Many also are broadcasting on their Facebook pages if you don't have the Zoom links.

Rosh Hashana is the only holiday that's celebrated for two days in Israel. All the other holidays are celebrated for one day.
What kind of wine are you using for kiddush? I don't recall seeing that brand before.

I'm trying to figure out what my plan is for the actual holiday. My Shul is doing curbside Machzor lending, and streamed services. Meals alone just doesn't sound all that festive.
Aww that’s nice that your synagogue is doing that! Maybe you can do an outdoor BYO meal or a zoom meal with someone? It’s very hard I know

I want to point out 2 corrections. Is Israel they do celebrate 2 days of Rosh Hashanah, the rest of the holidays are one day.
The blessing on candles for both nights of Rosh hashanah is "lihadlik ner shel yom hazikaron" and "shehechiyanu".
