Nah I can't lie starting out with the copyright safe models is probably the move. People are gonna be sad when they have to take the actual one piece models away, so it's better to start with the safe ones.

By taking this in mind, I hardy doubt rell seas will ever get taken down from one piece copyright with this remodelling. Models and stuff is 99% of the cause of copyright strikes and rell seas revamping all models should make it completely safe

There is one one piece game with 56 concurrent players that got taken down, Piece legends, but nobody really pays any attention to it, but on X the head developer said it was probably because of the IP issue, but he also said he was going to go see if he can talk to somebody to meet some kind of agreements.

Oda probably either does not want it to be taken down because it's someone's hardwork and it kinda helps the anime/manga make some money bc of the new fans, and if it does get taken down it's either Netflix or Oda suddenly just becomes the destroyer of op games and kills the franchise in Roblox

I hope they change zoans from the giant models in their hybrid forms to like smaller models like where you have aspects of the hybrid form put onto your character if they did this they wouldn’t have to worry about the same copyright issues as the original big models

They should use the safe version. When they update they would need to make a safe and unsafe version all the time or have a massive down time once the copyright strike happens to make new things. Safe is just the right move here going forward.
Since there are gonna be skins for fruits and the creatures in the game I think turning the original one piece models into skins that you can apply on to your weapon and the tames or whatever would be cool in my opinion.
they did say they would add weapon skins.. mayb they could add the og models in for in game money or sum or paid idk
If it’s safe to have the one piece models at this time, they should make it so when you get a WEAPON, it’s the copyright-safe model but if you craft/upgrade it, you can get the one piece model which is also a bit more powerful. Also bosses being copy-right safe is a good idea. Just the weapons should be like that.

Changing the weapon models doesn’t really make sense considering there’s tons of weapons in other media that look the same, for example brooks cane, it’s just a normal cane sword but purple.

I think the idea that you brought up would be a good option, if they had already created every model for the game. They still need to create more, and if they do what you suggest for them to do, they would need to create 2 versions of every (specifically from one piece) model rather than only needing to make the original ones + not needing to stress about dmca. I think if anything that would end up delaying the game more, if they needed to create a model + a back up for everything going forward
Of course, they could simply forget about creating the original models and focus on being accurate to one piece, and if they get dmca'd they rush themselves to make all of what they need. But that seems like a solution that would benefit you in the short term and really fuck you over if you get unlucky

Im happy about this, especially the zoan models, im hoping for players the models take a bit from the characters actual model, maybe even letting you customize it yourself, but that is just being hopeful.
I think they will have the models look like two piece and have some silimar names to avoid the Copyright like they did with shinobi life 2 and i don't think it will matter much at least for me

Well, even though removing all the copyrighted stuff ended up being a waste, it's better to be safe than sound.
I feel like the rell brothers should release the game with all the non copyright models and wait till like update 1, if the netflix one piece game doesn't take down any other one piece games that have models which could get them copyrighted, then the rell brothers could add the orignal one piece models for another update.

TBH using original designs for Rell Seas is honestly pretty cool. When SL2 got taken down, they had to scramble just to de-copyright everything, and it was completely uncoordinated, making stuff look rediculous.

They’re not legally allowed to take it down, they own the rights to the live action, not the manga. Unless Oda himself(or the legal copyright holder which could also be the manga publisher if there is one) goes out of his way to take the game down or gives the live action ppl permission to, they will not have any legal right to take down the game.

In my opinion, I think it’s cool that they’re not just blatantly copying everything from the show like every other game did, and that they are making new designs. It shows more of just how much effort they are putting into making this game, and just makes the game look more original.
