After seeing her Bankai, it’s not hard to imagine why her Zanpakuto is regarded to be the most beautiful in all of Soul Society. This episode is my favorite one of the Cour and it’s the best adapted in terms of pacing and the animation when it comes to the horror themes in my opinion.

The fight should have been longer. Rukia can do so much more, it should have been longer with more movements & tactics.
@@kelvinallen9327 They gave the fight almost an entire episode, so I'm happy with that. I mean, they needed to give some screen time to the added Squad 0 fights, so yeah, it really improved over the manga and made many manga readers happy.
I honestly couldn’t imagine a better voice actor than As Nodt. He really understood how to be very creepy and unsettling. To think he also voiced Kirito and Inosuke. The man’s voice range is nothing short of amazing.

When As Nodt breaks out of her Absolute Zero ice, his mask comes off revealing him missing skin on his lips and nose. Now is that due to frostbite, or is that how he always looked and that’s why he wears a mask in the first place? I could imagine it going either way.
Good question. I guess it could make more sense that he was like that before since he has a mask in the first place and we know he was horribly ill in the past.

This is my favorite episode of the second cour by far. Rukia has always been my favorite character and Hakke no Togame is a bankai worthy of the most beautiful zanpakuto.
funn enough the normies jus hit hueco mundo arc and they seeing Rukia fight Espada #9 (aaroniero arruruerie) seeing kian shiba again. IMO the fight between espada #9 and rukia is one my favorite from OG bleach up with Tosen vs Sajin and ulquiorra vs ichigo.

At the end, Yachiru literally forgot if she hits something, even the fact that she actually was trying to hit something.

[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Some content about Senjumaru's from 0 Squad (Gold Arms lady) was removed, it shows that she's the one who made the new clothes for Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, and Byakuya and they serve a purpose aside from just looking cool.
- The Scale is a hint at what Jugram Haschwalths' ability is. Given what he said, Cang Du survived his 1st attack, which was fortunate, but then we saw the scale tilt. (Make of that what you will)
- In the Manga, there exists a little more context to what As Nodt Fears. He exclaims: "My only fear is to be rebuked by His Majesty and have all of this Body taken from me" As we saw with the glimpses of his backstory, he was apparently always in a state close to death and that's a state that he never wants to return to. (Sidenote - Many fans theorize that the Schrifts that the Quincy have are based on traumas they experienced in life)
- As Nodt's speech is slightly altered here in the Anime, but the general premise is that at the fundamental level Comfort leads to Life and Fear leads to Death, he believes that fear is inherently a feeling birthed from our survival instincts, meaning that to want to live means to fear death.
- (Glad you guys remembered) Cause Some fans draw issue or feel that Rukia's reaction to Byakuya was forced, but as we know Rukia for a long time had never really felt seen by Byakuya, and learning that she was adopted thanks to a dying wish and not her skills certainly wouldn't help sway those feelings.
- As Nodt's Death brings up an interesting topic, Yhwach comes across as even more sadistic ruler, he seems to take advantage of the Quincy who were looking for someone or something to save them, and he appears much like a false Messiah, promising them everything while actually seeking to take everything.
- Kirinji from the 0 Squad is known for his speed and he believed that it would take a week, Ichigo saying it'll take only half a day is a nice little humble brag.
(Sidenote 2: As Nodts obsession with Senbonzakura is interesting, I personally believe it's symbolic. As Nodt seemed to have been living a bedridden life, so his life was likely devoid of seeing beautiful things and hlikely felt that life itself was not beautiful. Senbonzakura is just that, this beautiful tool that he can use to employ the same fear that he was forced to endure.)

The schrift is actually the true power that lies within the Quincy soul, you can consider his blood like an asauchi and the schrift is a zanpakuto. The blood trigger the awakening of the true power and just like the zanpakuto the schrift represents the Quincy nature.

It's perfect for Byakuya to be here not only his connection with Rukai but he's also seen what happens when you use a new bankai in battle. Renji couldn't fully control his and Ichigo's was starting to crush him with out him realizing it. He knew she'd need help after based on those two seeing as her power is more deadly even to herself without it being a new bankai.
It appears that VCS share the headset. This episode would be cool to watch with both headphones, the difference in audio makes for a very good experience.
I think this is my favorite episode of Cour 2. Everything about it just hits perfectly.

things to consider , cold is absence of heat , this bankai is almost an antithesis of Yamamoto’s , just Rukia is still new with it , but imagine the future implications and training , she can be easily one of the most powerful characters

Ichigo as the main character and Rukia as the deuteragonist, their Bankais are Yin-Yang (Ichigo black, Rukia white). They also both wear their Bankai powers, which is quite a fascinating way to present a Bankai.
They don't, Rukia's one is white because it's snow, there's literally nothing else behind it. There are a lot of character who wear their Bankai, like Renji for example.

Rukia's bankai is the most dangerous bankai even herself is not safe to use. If yamamoto can burn the whole soul society if rukia master her bankai she can also freeze the whole soul society based on theory obcourse.😅

Rukia bankai is temperature manipulation where She lower the temperature to absolute 0 and ice formation is the by product of it.
Where characters like yamaji,toshiro are element based user.They literally produce that element out of nowhere and thus they are far superior to their zanpakuto usage than rukia.
For example Rukia can't lower the temperature of space itself but on the other hand toshiro can easily speed freeze the space and its matter..
Also there many bankai that are far superior and deadlier than rukia's.
For Example : Shunsui Bankai is an aboslutely surehit bankai .
And kisuke Bankai made him almost invincible .
Plus Senjumaru's bankai can alter reality itself...
And among banned bankai shinji bankai and that other kenpachi bankai can absolutely destroy the soul society itself.

One of the worst fights of this arc in terms of writing. Rukia had a whole training session with Division 0. We thought she was finally going to have a real fight and not need help like she has in the past. In the end, she was going to die as usual and had to be rescued by Byakuya, she remains a damsel in distress. But, that's just the result of what Kubo has been showing for a while with Rukia's character, he doesn't care about her anymore since the Soul Society arc. A failed conclusion for her character

And this is the same guy who Byakuya almost died against also Rukia could win but she did not have enough confidence and that tied to the fact of her big brother who never recognize her power and capabilities like we saw in the series and that's good writing

There are parts that I can understand, but that's only part of it.
The true value of this episode is that Byakuya finally recognizes Rukia's strength.
I think it should be a while before she faces a strong enemy and overcomes it alone.
