  • I was born in an old, rough and dry town with very few trees or greenery. All my eyes could see were lifeless, dusty, concrete walls. As a little girl, as far back that my memory takes me, I dreamt of living in greenery. The desire to be amongst nature was always my heart's ultimate wish. When I grew up, I met someone who was born and brought up amongst the greenery that I always dreamt of. But truly, his heart was even greener. Holding my soft hands, he led me into the greenery I long wished, to make my dream of living among nature come true.
We built a home together. It’s called Talibari. This home of ours is far far away from the city. Far away from the crowded life. It is in a small, green village.
Talibari means tiled roof house. "Tali" is tile. This house is the only house in the village that has a terracotta tiled roof. Being that the tropic of cancer runs over nearby this house, it enjoys everlasting tropical weather. It gets a good amount of rain showers during monsoon and the soil is very fertile. Seedlings easily grow without much care. Chilling cold temperatures or heat above 50° Celsius is unknown to us.
We had the house made of bamboo and wood instead of bricks and cement.
Our home is adorned with herbs and vegetation.
The house is full of flowering plants, thus the flora and fauna (birds and other small creatures) flourished along with us.
We enjoy seasonal variations continuously- the fresh blue sky, winters fog, seasonal raindrops, the floral springs and all the rest of the weather in between.
I want everyone to be able to dream of such greenery. The dream to live in nature. I so realised, from my own life - nature is our place of comfort, the only way to live.
After escaping from the city's hussles, I would like to share with everyone a video series of how my family and I are spending our days in this house amongst nature and the greenery. I would also like to share the joy of receiving the gifts of nature with all of you and so that you too can enjoy it with us.
