- This is the last episode in the Track of the Wolf Bucks County flintlock rifle kit build series. In this video I'll brown the barrel and the lock. Assemble the rifle and fit the ramrod. This has been a 15 month project, and, for those of you who have been following the build, thanks for hanging in there.

Thanks for putting this series together for us MB.
Its hard enough to build the rifle but the hours that went in to producing and uploading the videos is very much appreciated.
Look forward to seeing that smoke stick run.
Thanks again for all the effort MB.
Great job Mike. The rifle turned out beautiful. And thanks for all your hard work in putting this series together. Very informative and entertaining.
I've watched all the episodes. THANKS!! Not that I'll ever build one myself, but I still enjoyed watching you build a very nice rifle. Very enjoyable. Regards, David
Mike- Congratulations on the completion of your rifle. It has been a heck of a journey watching this rifle start as a board and some metal to the end the result. I applaud your efforts and honest portrayal of the assembly which has been a heck of a tutorial. Can't wait to see the fire and smoke video of this rifle. Thanks again.
It's a BEAUTIFUL rifle! Thanks for sharing your step-by-step 'How To Do' delicate and hard work videos with us! It will be great to see you shoot it soon!
Although I am building a North Star West Northwest Trade gun, your videos have been invaluable for a first time builder! Thank you!!!
It really came out nice Mike. The stock finish looks beautiful and the inletting was outstanding. You are an inspiration sir.
Enjoyed each and every episode. Thanks Michael. tjw
I may be late to the party, but I have watched them all and I must say, you certainly have something there to be proud of!
It has been quite inspiring for me, watching this come together. I have a few bits and pieces that will eventually become a deer/elk rifle (.54 cal flintlock). I picked this stuff up about 1-2 videos into this series. Perhaps one of these days I'll do a shooting video of it, when it's done. Excellent work, mistakes and all. It just gives it character.
Absolutely stunning rifle! I watched every episode and that was a lot of work, but it turned out great. Congratulations!
Thank you very much for your patience and dedication to this project, Mike B. Having watched it from the beginning, it has been great to see your techniques. As a builder myself, this aspect is always of importance to me, and seeing yours shows me we have much more in common than we do differences in those ways of skinning a cat. But I have never built a rifle from a kit, and it is interesting to see how much work you have to do to one... Not much different than scratch-building, actually. The main advantages seem to be that you have a somewhat pre-shaped stock, but with some methods, that could be a disadvantage as well. But I think you really did a great job of presenting the project, and you have a fine, beautiful rifle to show for it. I know you have been an inspiration to many out there to try their hand at this, and see what they can create. And I hope it inspires some to actually post their own videos of their builds! Thanks again for the great project and great video production work!
Watched the entire series! Very nice work and explanation of the entire process!
Awesome!!!😃
fantastic job... glad you decided to share the build with us!
Hello Mike, thanks for taking the time to put up the videos of your build. Kinda made me want to build one too.
Your videos have been inspiring and very helpful as I build my North West Trade gun. Thanks,
Well worth the long journey. She's a beauty!
I really enjoyed this project. Thanks and congrats.
Really enjoyed watching you build the kit. Hoping to see it shoot. Thanks.
Excellent job
Kudos for having the patience to do this sort of thing!
Beautiful!
Thanks
Beautiful rifle Mike! Can't wait to see some range footage.
That is one beautiful rifle MB truely outstanding work
looks really top notch hopefully it will shoot as good as it looks ,cool project
YAY!!
Can't wait to see you shoot it.
I have watched you build this from the beginning and can only say you did a great job! I wish I had the skill and patience to do what you did.
the rifle looks great! watched all the videos from the start
What are you going to build for us next?? Just kidding. I've been watching from the begining and really appreciate your openness and honesty. Great job, Mike.
Beautiful gun
Nice rifle, and not an easy task. I've heard Track's rifle kits described as some of the more difficult because they come more as a raw parts set when compared to more finished "kits". But there's no comparison between a high level product like this and a factory or semi-factory kit from the European makers. A full custom gun like this is a lifelong keeper. I have two custom flintlocks of my own and would never go back to a factory type gun for a flintlock.
Great looking rifle Mike! Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
Great !!!! Masterpiece !!!!
thank you for all the steps just the way you did them without edit mistakes and all i built a full stock hawkins kit and would run into trouble and luckily you seemed to have the same ones thanx for the help and inspiration
Outstanding job Mike, I can't wait until the first shot!
I have picked up a couple of pointers from you during the course of this series, and I'll put them to good use on my longrifle build. Here's one that you may or may not have heard about, which is another way to get the ramrod to the correct diameter. Drill a hole in a flat steel plate (at the desired ramrod diameter), place the steel plate in a vice, and then tap the wooden dowel through the hole. The dowel will extrude through the plate and be shaven to the dia. of the hole.
Nope. I hadn't heard that one.
Very nice!
Watched from the beginning and wow it turned out great. I wish i had the patience to do it.
Beautiful rifle Mike. I'm a little sad knowing there'll be no more videos, but I'm happy that it came out looking that nice. Hope it shoots as well as it looks. Hopefully one day I'll be able to build something as nice as that.
Fantastic build Mike, enjoyed and learned a lot through the course of the videos. Once i finish my two pistol builds, i am going to tackle a rifle....now that i know how to fix the mistakes i'm sure to make :)
Mike I loved this series on the TOW bucks county build. I have been working on a Dickert flint lock and would not know where to start and what to do without your series. You ask through out the series if any of us have hints on doing things different or easier to share. I have some added techniques that I will share when I get to them. Again LOVE the series. Thanks
Looking forward to seeing you shoot this one Mike.
I would be happy with that. Looks great. Looking forward to seeing it at the range.
Beautiful workmanship and awesome rifle! Not sure I have the patience to undertake that type of commitment.
Great Video series. I have been waiting for every video you have put up from the start to this day.
If you can, it would be great if you could shoot and review a series on home build kit rifles too sometime in the future.
Howdy Mike!!!!!
All I want to say is you did a fantastic job. I have followed this series since you started it and I have reading your articles since I was a kid lol . I have a TOW Jacob Dickertt kit still on the waiting bench I have not even touched on account I left for the Army six years ago. I cannot wait to see you shoot your new long rifle. I am particularly interested in seeing how you zero the rifle. I recently acquired a custom .54 cal flintlock rifle as a present to myself after a deployment to Afghanistan and only got it to the range once last year. I wasn't able to get her zeroed since I didn't have the time to devote to it during that weekend. Anyways I will stop blabbing. I am waiting in anticipation to see the upcoming videos. Thank you for your time.
Thanks Brett. I appreciate it.
looks like it turned out great been watching from the start thinking I may start in the fall but will have to get one a little easier.
Thanks, Mike. I have wanted to build a muzzleloader of my own for quite a while now. So yes, you have inspired me!
I promised myself I wouldn't cry...
Outstanding job, Mike.
Thanks Mike! I have really enjoyed following your project and appreciate you taking the time to record and post it. You have inspired me and one day I will tackle something similar. I'm looking forward to seeing you shoot it!
Nice looking rifle, Mike. Your workmanship is at least equal to the original builders.
As opposed to the "Artistic Builders" of Today.
Tom I.
I'm happy that you shared that build with us! Enjoyed every single video.
Beautiful rifle! I watched from the beginning and you put a lot of work into making it! I learned a lot from you too. Thanks for taking the time to video it and share it! Can't wait to see how she shoots!
I REALLY enjoyed the video efforts. I want to get a good flintlock and I would be pleased if you could list what you bought and where. That way I could do something similar. Great work, it was really fun to watch, learned a lot.
Thanks for your efforts.
Thanks for all the effort in bringing these videos to us. It has been very informative and inspiring. Hope my hawken turns out half as good!
Been watching from the beginning, and wanted to say good job! There really is a lot more work in these kits than one would think. I can hardly wait to see it in action.
That Rifle is absolutely beautiful Mike! Ive been following this since (almost) the beginning, and the amount of work and craftsmanship you put into this rifle is truly remarkable. My interest in this era of rifles has been piqued by your videos, and now I want to try my hand at building one too! Im sure there is a lot of gratification with making something like this by hand... Its just extremely daunting! Im nervous to take the leap but I know I will be glad I did when my rifle turns out even just half as good as yours did!
Your series of videos is very in depth and can be used as a blue print by anyone looking to put one of these together. I also like your brutal honesty haha!
Youre much more talented then you give yourself credit for! Im very excited to see how this baby shoots! I think I speak for most people when I say: Please make your 'range video' long and in depth. We all want to see this thing punch holes!
Thanks again Mike!
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed every installment.
Thank you for sharing! You’ve done a fine job indeed! 👍😃
Wow! Been watching from the start. You did a beautiful job on it. Cant wait to see the test fire.
Absolutely beautiful work Mike! Great to see it finally finished and the way it came out- I ain't seeing any flaws. ;D Make Evil Roy sing soon!
Thank you very much for this fantastic video...have been dreaming about building a Colonial longrifle from Track of the Wolf and was wondering how hard it would be. Your video clarified that for me. Probably won't have the time this year but next year I will be building.
Great work. I wish I could do it. Hank
Looks good! Are you starting another one soon? What am I gonna watch on CZcams now
Great series, sir! It certainly must have been a challenge to build, but even more so a challenge to build and film a video for us to enjoy. Thanks for your efforts!!
Now, on a lighter note.... how about building a matching pistol, or perhaps a brace of pistols? ;) just kidding... lol
I know you see some flaws in the build, but really it's perfect!
When are you going to post a video of shooting it?
It will probably be in May. I need to finish sighting it in. The weather has not cooperated since I finished it. The days that I've had free have either been rainy or had high winds. I've put about a dozen rounds through it to test it, but it is shooting high and left. So I need to bring it into line.
