    INFO: James Douglas Morrison, Better known as Jim Morrison was a poet, songwriter, and probably best known for being the distinctive voice of The Doors, one of the most beloved bands of the 60s and 70s. But it wasn’t just the poetry and the music Morrison made with his band that made him stand out. He also had a wild personality, an intense stage presence and outrageous lifestyle. Throughout his entire life, he had somewhat of an obsession for death and personal reinvention and discovery. This came out as vulgar and gloomy themes and disturbing characters in his lyrics. Some would argue that these characters represented Morrison’s alter-egos. Segments of his self-sabotaging behaviour as he dealt with the sudden fame and acceptance. In this video we’ll examine these characters in order to understand Jim Morrison’s personality even better.

      @onespeedonegear1006 Před 5 lety +6

      I agree, I don't believe Jim usually was worried about arbitrary things like money and power to begin with. He was always obsessed with death, and also the focus on the occult didn't start towards the end of his college career it was his whole life, in high school he wrote a paper based on a 16th century book about the occult and satanism, which his teacher didn't believe he read or had, so she went to congressional library, and indeed did find the book was writing in reference to. He was a genius and a true artist. He was bound to make an impact, somehow, someway. It just happened to be rock music at a pivotal time in history. Gave him a platform to be a shaman of sorts. Also, he was very perceptive concerning the death of a America and the direction of humanity. He saw this mess coming. I consider him and Hunter Thompson two of the most important voices in that era. It was the scariest stuff I ever heard when I was growing up. Check em out :) Psalm 69 is their masterpiece.
