- This is our cosplay live action of the song There are other ways from Epic: the musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans @JayHerrans
We wanted to show our love and admiration for his work (and because ancient Greek mythology f*cking rules), we do not own the copyrights of this song.
The choreography and shots are inspired by both the videos the Epic cast and crew made, and by many animatics from fans of the show!
A comparison between the storyboard and the final clip is to be released next week 🥰

I love how you show that Circe doesn't really want to do it with him, but is simply trying to kill him to protect others on her island! You are wonderful actors!
This is amazing! I love the fluidity of the knife-steal and all the expressions of 'Circe', especially the face she makes when Odysseus says 'I can't'!

I love how this has scenes similar to the one in the plastic fork video (at the start of There are Other. Ways) and Gigi's animatic ( when Odysseus plops down next to Circe)

My jaw is on the FLOOR. The fluidity of the movement is impeccable (that's NOT EASY while moving a knife around) and also the costume design, especially Circe's??? Literally only three details aren't exactly like I always imagined them, and they're things that I don't think you guys could feasibly do (Odysseus being shorter than her, which isn't something you can choose, Circe letting her hair down like Talya, which is not feasible with a much more complex updo like this, and Circe undoing part of her chiton, which is very understandable not to do for a CZcams video, especially one shot in a park xD) Seriously, you guys rocked this!!
ETA: and I ADORE how you staged Odysseus' plea at the end by having him take a pose that you would take before a god or goddess!!

You're right, these were conscious choices (except the height difference tbh but that's just out of selfishness I wanted to play Circe SO BAD and i'm 🤏smol🤏 haha)
I actually hesitated for two long weeks on which direction to go for the hairstyle. I wanted to do the Talya hair movement which looks absolutely incredible and seductive, but what really made me choose against it was that it would have been a pain in the *ss if we had to redo the shot, and we were on a tight schedule. I would love to do a photoshoot with my hair down though!!! ✨
@@maelibellule I think she/you looks gorgeous! I don't think a powerful demigoddess and sorceress like Circe would wear a simple hairstyle, especially in an era where complexity was very closely tied with rank. Her being able to do that hair flip to having it completely loose would imho be part of the ✨magic ✨ side of things, which for us humans is the magic of cutting and editing, lol, and on a tight schedule it's completely understandable why you chose against it. Would love to see the photoshoot tho! (And also in all honesty a tutorial for the updo, because it looks BOMB!)
As for you being shorter, it's just sort of a running joke in the fandom that Odysseus is shorter than everyone except the winions; Talya is shorter than Jorge and she looks amazing, just like you do! (Plus, applying rules like that to a cosplay is just silly, humans can't be shrunk 🤣)
Anyway just reiterating how amazing this was and how I really really hope to see more from y'all!

Actually, while a lot of things in the clip are indeed inspired by animatics and cast videos, the last part with only Odysseus had only one animatic (that I knew of) back in April. So Ody sitting down was one of our original ideas ! But I'm honored to be compared to Gigi 😍
