In this video Heimler walks you through Unit 3 Topic 10 of the AP Government curriculum which is all about Civil Rights. Civil Rights movements spring up when the civil liberties contained in the Bill of Rights are not equally applied to all American citizens.
Each of the movements considered in this video emerged because of the failure of the American government to heed the provisions of the 14th amendment.
quick nitpick: the educational amendments were 1972, not 62. great video!
Your the best heimler thank you so much i have a test later and u so clutch pray for me
Me too dawg. CLUTCH like usual
Not quite sure that I understand the stated difference between Civil Liberties and Civil Rights. Would it be true to say that Civil Liberties mens we have these rights "in theory." But Civil Rights means that we have these rights "in practice"?
kevin
Civil Liberties are those rights that are granted to citizens via the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. While Civil Rights are those laws/bills that prevent discriminations based on religion, gender, race, etc. An example of a civil right would be a person's right to attend the workplace without facing discrimination, which is enforced by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for example.
