@@n_nbie imo that’s one of its biggest strengths! Human After All is so cold and unforgiving and getting at least a small reprieve from that halfway through the album is like a breath of fresh air. It helps keep you in the moment and not give up. Emotion serves a very similar purpose but also works great as a closer, rather than more of an interlude like Make Love.

My favorite is veridis quo! It’s like a quiet journey, and is simultaneously relaxing, intriguing, sad, and peaceful. It really lets you see whatever emotion you want to find in that song. It’s perfect to study and sleep to!

My #1 is instant crush. Being a huge Julian fan and Daft Punk fan makes that an incredible crossover I can’t pass up. Julian uses the heavy auto tune in his later work with The Voidz which I can’t get enough of but it’s perfected in that track with Daft Punk.
Instant Crush is also my number 1, love the chorus

It may not be their most iconic or popular song, but i honestly believe it is a masterpiece made by two musical and composing geniuses
For me veridis quo is up there in the top 3. So much emotion in this fairly simple track

My favorite DP song is Human after all. There’s an energy this song brings to me that no other song does. It’s minimalist yet complex at the same time. I love every instrument on this track. The synth, vocals, drums, every embarks together to create this conglomerate of overwhelming force. Also Alive 2007 did the song justice and made it amazing there too!
For real, it feels like the title track is just the best execution of that albums minimalism.

Less than 10 songs, but for sure are not so good, the rest are awesome!
#1 for me is without a doubt Contact. My favorite music genre is electronic and Contact is easily the best electronic song ever made. The spacey atmosphere, the crushing synth sounds, the absolutely insane build up, the DRUMS, everything about it creates this pummeling adrenaline rush that doesn't stop until the song literally explodes. Also the NASA sample at the beginning talking about a giant unidentified object floating out in space, and then the outro with these horrific alien sounds do an amazing job of setting up the vibe of the track. I can't think of any electronic song that feels like it hits you on a physical level like Contact does.

My favorite part about discovery is once you watch the movie once, every time you just listen to the album you can picture the whole movie in your head
I'm afraid Face to Face has topped my list too, from the countless samples you're none the wiser to hear - especially the Body and Soul bassline sample; sounds like how an old-anime machinegun rhythmically booming feels. -To the synth following one of the guitars like a subtle shadow... - and all that's not even mentioning the story.
I learned instrument-to-instrument listening from DP, and Face to Face is where I honed the skill :)
Haha that’s funny because today was probably the day I realized face to face was my favorite daft punk song after being a fan for like 8 years at least. It blew my mind and sent me down a sample rabbit hole a couple months ago when I realized it had the part from evil woman. Today I listened to every remix I could find on CZcams back to back. I'd say you've got "Da funk" too low - about 48 spots too low. I know it's not fair to claim that their first song is their best song, but come on. That track absolutely slaps. It was SO fun dropping that 12'' in a top-40 club and watching the mixture of confusion and ecstasy roll across the dance floor. Pure bliss.
To me for some reason in Voyager where the drums and it just fades to the synth or whatever it is, reminds me so much of a song off of the Berserk soundtrack, I can’t remember which one but it gives me that vibe

my favourite album from Daft Punk has to be Human After All, since I personally think it fits the vibe that Daft Punk have been going with for a very long time: robots using synthesizers to make music for humans, showing that they're human too.
During my final day at martial arts class, they played all Daft Punk songs, and when I told my dad about it he asked if that was one thing that would convince me to stay. In the order I remember they played One More Time, Get Lucky, Around the World and finally Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. A month later I heard Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger play over the loud speakers at the Indoor Water Park at NJ’s American Dream mall. And another month later, I finally decided to watch _Interstella 5555_ , the anime movie that’s just all the songs from Discovery. That point is when I found my newly _discovered_ love for Daft Punk and I have been keeping it ever since.
I disagree with so many statements in this video, but I respect the hell out of you for ranking every DP song, great video!

To be honest, I never heard some of these songs, and I am a huge fan of daft punk.
I love your rank list. Your explanation on every track is pinpoint accurate. Literally, everything you said, I just kept nodding my head in agreement every time. And I don't care what people say, Face-to-Face is more than a hidden gem, it's like a whole new belief system where it makes you feel better than great, better than amazing. It sure is the experience if nobody has ever listened to that piece of ingeniousness.

Discovery is my favorite album and Face to Face is my favorite song off it and Something About Us is my second too! That being said I would’ve put Make Love, Da Funk and especially Game of Love higher up. the latter is a top tier song but it’s chill. Great video!

My favorite is revolution 909, it’s the only of 2 songs that no matter what mood I’m in, it will get my head nodding, and pick up my feet, 909 and sidechain’d samples is my kryptonite, the other is Cassius’s song Foxxy which is the same vibe, simple beat, simple sounds, but so masterfully picked and mixed together that it just gets me in a good mood.

Good list! I will say that Robot Rock fell a lot in my estimation after hearing the song it's sampled from ("release the beast"). I love sampling, but the difference between the songs is almost too subtle for me to consider Robot Rock a song of its own.

If you guys are still interested in this kind of music, one of their legacies is a really great band, called Parcels, their track "Overnight" is actually the last Daft Punk production ever done, and the rest of Parcels' "Parcels" album is more of that amazing music, I highly suggest you check it out, you won't regret it.
My favorite album is also Discovery! I remember we had the music videos to it on DVD and when me and my brothers were really little we’d watch it together 😂 it’s both nostalgic and just really good
