Our podcast breaks this stuff down all the time. Check it out: bit.ly/3bG9qfY
It's true. Also, you should probably clean your kettle, man.
@@rallycapspodcast I didn't ask for any constructive criticism.
I feel like you and Mango Street are some of the only people who have given free advice that truly helps. Thank you so much for all that you do for us. You don’t know how much it really means 🙏🏼☺️
Aw man, that means so much. :) Thanks for saying that! Always out here rooting everyone else on. Supporting one another is the way.
agreed they are amazing! I've also gotten a ton of value from Mark Bone and Danny Gevirtz if you're a filmmaker but also if you're a creative in general
Dude. This is so special. Thank you so much for the wisdom that you give to the community. Means so much to have someone like you paving the way for those of us getting started!
3 min in, love how simple, clean, and calm this video is! Great work dude
Man. That means a lot coming from you, my guy. Thanks so much
favorite yt channel right here. thanks so much for your honest and hopeful content!
You sir, know how to edit videos. Very smooth. No interruptions when you stop talking for a millisecond. Seen so many editors do that.
So so so good! As usual. Thanks for all the value you provide!
Really nice work man. The personal feeling of your videos really speaks to your mindset of helping others do this too. So thanks for everything you do for our community. Keep at it! 🙌🏻
Love the transparency and vibes 🤙🏽 Thank you for sharing these advices brotha
Thanks for the transparency and insights as always! Hope you and the fam are doing well!
Of course, my man! Just watched your vlog this morning going to Palm Springs! Miss you, man!!
Was watching this with my toddler and my husband asked who I was watching and I responded my photographer crush. LOL love your work and thank-you for sharing your wisdom with us all!
Continue to be the biggest inspiration for me personally dude. Thank you for what you do, happy to support you always
I’m speechless. So many good things to say about you and your channel and this video. Thanks Eric
This is such a helpful video, really appreciate the transparency!
wow you can really tell how much effort and time you put into this video. well done! also your kiddos are so cute! love you work!
Stunning and touching video as always!! I will be 👀👀 when those LUTs and presets drop.
I’ve made 6 figures 3 years in a row. Already did it this year. Yes, it’s possible.
I’m not sure if you have already done this but it will be great to know all the apps/software and websites a wedding photographer should consider/use. Pic time was a great suggestion! I’m just barely starting out and this video was so helpful, so thank you! :)
Genuine, high-quality and high-value advice as always, thanks Eric
Eric is so underrated. This should get more views! Your tips are a true gem. ❤️
Love this 🙏🏽 Such a big inspiration
Your videos are very helpful and enjoyable! Thank you
Bro you have another fan! This video was amazing!
Love hearing your thoughts on this! There’s so many income streams for people in the camera industry to use! 💯✔️
I love this Video, Thank you for sharing!
I did not realise pictime was so much better pixieset 😅 making that jump over will be a long process but might be needed. As always Eric, great video! 😁😁😁
Your last video like this helped my wife and I go full-time in weddings, and this one helped us even more! Thank you for putting things into perspective and all the great info Eric!
😭 holy crap - thanks for the support!!
Beautiful video. Excited to see your digital assets.
Love love love this one dude. That opening is what the simple life is all about😭😭😭
Great one, thanks for sharing your experience man
Dang Simple should have sponsored this video!!! Great info as always. Love the transparency and the hustle. Great inspo for all of us.
Hey man, just found your channel and honestly cannot believe I just discovered your channel. Keep up the amazing work!
Yesss. Striving for simplicity has been giving life to my soul. 🙌🏼
Your vintage and rustic grades hooked me in the first go! 👌🏻
Dude videos like this that you make are so encouraging and motivating to keep trying more things to make passive income and get creative thank you so much bro 🙏🏼
Hi Eric, I’m considering videography and really like your attitude. Good vibes, thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the advices, as always they are and were very helpful. Oh and can we talk about how perfect the Video ended with the music and lyrics? (Chefkiss)
This was really inspiring. Thank you for this Eric. :)
Great share... great video! Thank you Eric.
Thanks so much, Herbie!
Key thing to keep in mind is that it's a GRIND. If you're just starting, or even if you have a year or two under your belt. Most likely you won't hit 6 figures for YEARS. If you love what you do, you'll work a day in your life. Just put your head down and work, and before you know it, you'll hit that 6 figure income!
Greetings from the philippines!
I agree, bro! Wedding photographer has a high burnout rate... Though I would still want to shoot weddings from time to time. Doing 10-20 wedding a month is just stressful!
Thank you for this video! Instead of guessing you just laying it all out 😍
Just came across your channel and have only seen one other video but it seems you enjoy the film look (or maybe just the using of film cameras). Some older Canon cameras (like my XSI) has a film look (more so than modern Canon cameras) and feels fun to return to with its more simple layout and menus. Just throwing out that bit of info. Happy shooting.
Man I love you.
Thank you for being a guiding light through the fog
Amazing insight like always. I'm very curious when you spoke on "associate wedding filmmaker". I have been doing research on it (before I post a comment) and I can't find much on it. I would love to learn more on that if you have the chance! Thanks!
Just have to hustle! And be consistent & be nice to your clients!
So many gems in this video! By chance, can I ask what song is used in the intro sequence. It's so calming.
Great video! What kind of diffusion filter did you use for this video? Thank you Eric!
This opening sequence 🙌🏻
love u
@@EricFloberg hey eric, I really love your video. I just subscribed to your channel. Your video are really inspiring. I'm thinking of starting a CZcams channel about travel vlogging. I wanna know can you make a video around how to shoot a video when you are travelling (travel vlog). It would be really helpful. Thank you. Looking forward to hear from you. 😊
YOUR USE OF MUSIC IS SO ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
Wahoo what a leson you gave me ! Not realy on how to make money out of photography but on how peasfull you are ! thanks Eric
Eric! This is a great video! You absolutely can make 6 figures. I think what has helped me is having systems for sales. It is easy for me to get a lot of work, and just go hard in the creative work. When I get my head up from the wave of work, there is nothing left. Most creatives burnout because they don't have that consistency of work. So I have built systems to have leads in my pipeline while I am working on other projects. Also, even if you don't want a massive studio or agency, you can have someone do a lot of the smaller tasks that take time like uploading footage and photos. Cutting through footage and whatnot.
Absolutely. I've been outsourcing a lot more this year, and it's affording me the opportunity to build new revenue streams. It's so awesome. Thanks for your kind words, Matthew!!
@@EricFloberg What was your first hire out? Why did you pick that job to hire out?
Holy bajeeberz, love the living room.
I appreciate you so much, just seeing you talk about your career and success, giving advice and sharing stories... it just makes me more confident that I picked the right career. Thanks YT dad ✊🏽😂 is that weird to say ? Sorry...
the "2020 *closes eyes* said alot without saying it lol love this video thank you!
"I've seen other been very discipline on spending and lifestyle hahaha..." Well done Erik... High level of diplomacy :)
lol it's true! You don't need to make a ton of money if you spend your money wisely.
I wanted a Ross yelling “Pivot” clip voicing over for each pivot statement 😂
Great video Eric, motivates me to keep going and reminds me I’m still doing well being in business for 7 years.
Hi Eire- I was wondering how do you output your images for clients? Meaning, if they’re not purchasing prints, what format do you give them? I generally give full resolution files saved as jpegs, but find there’s always issues/questions about resizing for printing purposes or posting on various platforms. Thanks
Hi Eric! Loved the video! Would you mind explaining how does it work with these associate photographer and filmmaker? Why do you get a commision from their bookings? Thanks!
Thanks! Yeah! For every booking, I handle the administrative stuff: emails, on-boarding, contracts, invoices, meetings, and associates shoot and edit their part. We do a 70/30 split on the total cost of everything (they get 70, I get 30), so they're making the same if not more than what they charge for their own brands.
Such a good video bro
Thanks so much, dude. Really proud of what you're building these days! Keep hustling, my man!
Dude. Right in the feels.
the fine art pic was my fav :P
Great info as usual, Eric! Quick question about pic time - I use them as it is a beautiful gallery to deliver to clients, but looking at the printing options, it seems so expensive. Maybe I haven’t looked deep enough into the vendors or something, but it seems like clients would be better off printing with Blurb.
Any thoughts? Thx!
-Tuan
That's hilarious. We're neighbors. I knew I recognized those windows. #ShoeMaker
Hahaha no way! We’re only gonna be here for a few more weeks 😭
If only I could make six figures with algorithm comments
I basically need to figure out if I should be paying you a salary at this point.
@@EricFloberg I only accept doge
@@Braxtonwallis bahahahaha
You are truly a role model
It's very possible, my wife and I did it in a couple years. You just have to go all in and have a solid plan. I would love to get into the education space eventually and make some passive income that way.
Can you show us how to start our own business in terms of maybe having an LLC or Corporation type deal. Not really sure how to go about that when it comes to my photography business
I haven't made that video just because there is so much nuance state to state and country to country. Short story is: most people become an LLC or S-Corp. My recommendation is that you hire a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and have them help you walk through setting up the corporation if you're at the place where you make enough money for it to make sense. Hope that helps!
This video is what I needed. I have been a photographer as a side business for 10 years but never had the guts to go full time with it. I was working in insurance and got laid off this year. I have a wife and a 2 year old daughter and i lost my 6 figure income when i was laid off. My goal is to get full time with photography to be able to fully support my family with it. Thanks for the push.
So great connecting with you today, Levi!! All the best!!
Motivation!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Question about pictime. Does the customer have to order all their prints via that site? Do you not provide them with an album or photos yourself?
Ga dang that slideshow feature On pic time has me SOLD
I'm genuinly curious, does anyone know which of the lenses is used in this video? Looks like 35 or 50mm, but idk
You deserve all the success in the world friend
I like your channel and little by little I will be watching more of your videos since it surely helps me a lot to improve my work new friend here 1322 greetings and thank you very much you have a great channel friend
pit time rocks man
Great for photo delivery to client
Can you give some advice that how to less noise, grain while fliming video?
Eric!!! Do you have merch?! I want to be wearing cool CZcams dad shirts.
Hella wholesome intro
I saw the intro and now am in my kitchen making black coffe 😂🖤
Also what microphone is that? it’s crispy !!
Shure SM7B
@@mattumlandd thank you man !!
@@KipJackson The crispiest. Also, a Cloud Lifter really helps with the gain on this mic and boosts the signal into camera. That's why this one sounded especially crispy. That, plus a multiband compressor on the broadcast setting in Premiere.
@@EricFloberg thank you so much literally screen shotted that to help me in my endeavors ... your boy teaches history in a high school in new York and is currently building a studio in the garage
What about edit time? I feel so bogged down by constantly retouching, and if I keep learning video from you (!) and potentially adding editing videos to that.... how do you keep up with all the edits?! AND editing these CZcams videos? My current rate of photography has been a lifestyle choice.. it's constant 😕 Looking for a friend..
Your videos feel like home.
Interesting video that shows how lucrative having multiple income sources can be. Out of interest, in what region are your forecast costs on $300k revenue?
"or fine art" lolz. QUALITY
hehehe
I'm over here just trying to make $2,000 a month with my photography and videography, but lowkey some people are judging me by the number of followers once I give them my instagram... Should I not give them my instagram?
This advice isn’t just good for photographers, this is very wise advice to have multiple incomes no matter what you’re doing.
If I took a shot for every coffee opener I saw..... Just kidding dad. You kill em lol
lol for real though yikes
I wish I lived in the states..these numbers 😵
Four on the left of the decimal, two on right. Mission accomplished.
Yup, as somebody who shoots weddings and baby shoots, it’s more than possible.
Stock footage market is sucks now :( All of because of the those stock footage websites that are getting their footage literally for free from creators and selling for 200$ annually for unlimited quantity :/
Yeah, it's tough when industries change like that. Go back to the drawing board and see how you could get on those platforms as a contributor and figure out how you can see approaching the market from a different angle. Keep diversifying the ways you can make income too, because you can start pouring more time and energy into those streams more and more.
Ace! :)
I’ll take five stonks of Mr. Floberg Inc. please
bahahaha I need to make a FloCoin.
@@EricFloberg I'd be on that like moss on a Mississippi tree stump
CPM on these kinds of videos has to be really high 😳
wowwww
Thanks🌟
Bro I’m a teacher doing the same thing
I love hearing stories like this! So cool to hear the parallels. :)
@@EricFloberg 2021 will be our year let’s get it !!!
Did you purposely make the same intro as Peter McKinnon?
To be clear - only about 130K is photography, the rest is "being a CZcamsr," a booker, and an educator.
Is there a betting pool on how bad his speed/meth addiction is going to be at the end of the year?
Never done drugs. Never will. The title says six figures, friend. ❤️
@@EricFloberg You detail 300k in the video, I didn't reference the title. Just pointing out that it isn't all or even mostly from photography. And as for the drug comment, shit, rich millennials need to buy a sense of humor! It's an obvious and actually common joke about how many hours you're going to be working in order to get all that done.
@@cropcircle5693
Over 100k per year with his weddings and associates income alone. Plus another 100k per year from his courses and luts. Yes, that’s part of his photography and it’s income generated as a photographer so that additional 100k is from photography as well. That together is over like 230k… where did you get 100k from?
Just because you are pressing a shutter when making money doesn’t mean it’s not income as a photographer. He’s a photographer and his yt brings attention to his presets. He doesn’t sell presets as a youtuber… youtubers don’t have presets… photographers do. He’s a filmmaker, photographer, youtuber and educator. Don’t generalize his other skillsets & sources as “being a youtuber”
Hahaha
i like streetphotography... so... im poor. C:
