The amp is 60 watts RMS. Enough power for backline that only uses a mic for vocals and has a loud drummer, lol. Gigable!!! It sells for $450.00 USD. A serious choice for a semi pro. Light, portable and as good as gets for a solid state amp. It even looks totally Pro.😇
This series of amps seems interesting! For the full video, I'd love to see how the clean channel handles heavy fuzz pedals. Also Gabor, how would you say this thing is voiced in general, is it more American or more British sounding to you?
Based on this and other reviews it's a shame Laney put so average speaker inside. It sounds better with built in IRs on "Super" ones than through speaker. Would be interesting to hear it with a propper Lionheart set of speakers (Alnico Blue, Greenback's, Anniversary etc.)
I own the 212 model, and it sounds amazing by itself. Curiously though, it doesn't sound so good with my Zoom digital pedal, compared to my Katana 100 which sounds amazing with my Zoom. I have to do a lot of tweaking just to make it sound the way I want to, unlike the Katana where I can just put everything at noon and it sounds great. Just my 2 cents. Maybe I just need to upgrade my effects lol
@@lukefulton9494 in my experience, so far no. For reference I use a Zoom G5n. I dont know why, but it just sounds different when put through a multifx. Again, sounds amazing when using just the amp, not so amazing thru a multifx
Just to update, I've replaced my Zoom pedal with an analog pedal (Tech 21 RK5 version 2, it's Richie Kotzen's signature pedal) and it sounds absolutely AMAZING through this amplifier. It's ridiculously good, can't believe it's solid state with the warmth of sound I'm getting. Overall I'm perfectly satisfied with this amp, it's probably going to be my main amp for the next decade or so
Good review, but the way to avoid saying "whatever they meant by that" is to read up before doing the video. Laney seems to be very transparent about their products.
I own ok one, if I put the volume at 12 O'clock I would blow out the windows. Wonder if he has got 1 watt mode and 60 watt mode switch mixed up? But yes more than enough here for gigs.
Was looking at Katana 50 gen3 but do not like the looks of that amp at all 😅 This Laney does something...you wanna play it and pretend to be Tony Iommi 😎
I think it sounds good considering the speaker wasn’t broken in yet. The comparison between this and the Cub would be excellent.

Thanks for pointing this out. More amp reviewers should be telling their viewers the difference between RMS and peak wattage.

If I recall correctly, then the Lionheart amps are more on the Vox side of things without being clones.

You could try the kionheart loud pedal and mach it with your own cab

Cleans are nice, higher gain less so. Too fuzzy for me.
This amp definitely shows why tube amplifiers aren't going away anytime soon.
