    I bought this bag last month. Absolutely love it. It is really roomy and with all those features, it only weighs about 2 lbs. my feet get really hot at night so the ability to open the foot box and stick my feet out is priceless for me.

    Whoa you got S2S to send u a bag?! Movin up to the East side! 😂 Nice! $500 for a 36oz bag that has 750 fill?! Hellllll noooo 😂 Add more for the compression sack. Like the features but for $500 I'm getting a Bentley of quilts, 1000 fp down and that thing better weigh under 20ozs. Nice video Devin!

    Sea to summit came up with a really amazing design! Bought myself Traverse (same design, just synthetic). What I really like it's when it is warm at night I can unzip the left side and the bottom and unfold it to a blanket. Plus I can zip it together with my wife's Venture bag into a two-person bag!

      Love it! Clearly there’s more you can do with the bag than what I’ve shown. Which is great!

    Got last years model at a deep deep discount. Love the bag. Also like that you can attach a quilt to those snaps at the top and bottom. The S2S quilt is pretty expensive but hoping to DIY something to get a few more degrees out of it. Thanks for the review.

    Have the Spark3 since ‘22 and it’s almost perfect. But it’s zipper is a massive problem for people that don’t appreciate getting trapped in a sleepingbag . That’s something S2S has to address quickly or they’re losing customers. My next bag will be a Pajak for it is great value and super high quality ( and they’re zippers actually work )

    Wow! Perfect timing! I have been surfing the webs for days looking for something that matched my needs and gave up. Then this popped up on my feed. I did a quick search and a local mom and pop shop had it in stock and they are running a 31% off everything over $300. Great deal so nabbed it. Thanks, dude!

    Interesting product, thanks for reviewing this as I didn’t know such a thing existed. I’ve got options for backpacking which are mostly lightweight and come with various sacrifices. This seems a reasonable option for a quick overnighter or car camp

    I love the zippers on both sides just for the reason that sometimes my sleeping bag won't open on the side of the tent/hammock that I want it to (since there is only one zipper)

      @Colby168 Před 19 dny

      I’m getting the Terralite for Christmas! Do you have one? Do you love it? What’s the lowest temp you’ve had it in and felt comfortable? Only 2 lbs. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. I have the Nemo Disco 15 and it’s roomy and great but it’s 3lbs. Just trying to put together a lighter set up without compromising on comfort.

    • @waltbates8257
      @waltbates8257 Před 19 dny

      Absolutely, the versatility I get with my western mountaineering megalite is amazing. 6’6” bag, conservative rated at 30deg comfort, lots of wiggle room, horizontal baffling permits relocating the down to top (when colder) or bottom (when warmer), full length zip within 6” to the end of the bag, lifetime guarantee (to the original owner when purchased from WM retailer) at a weight of 1lb 9oz for long version! Taking it to Colorado with me next week. Sleeps warm for me but unzipping or moving the down around takes care of it. Compresses well to minimize size in pack. Really been a great bag. Campsaver looks to be really discounting them (reg and long versions) at the moment. I really enjoy your videos but will stick with my WM!

    Have you had the chance to look at the Ampex hybrid sleeping bag? I see that Costco is/was carrying them as part of a camping package with the Ampex Tent. Even Amazon is currently selling them at a 20% discount at only $104.
    I would really be interested to know if the Ampex bags are any good.
    Thanks!

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  Před 20 dny +1

      I have one of the Ampex sleeping bags, but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. I believe it’s a 30° bag, and it’s been too cold here to use that rating yet. But it’s coming at some point. Same with their sleeping pad.

    I have the previous version of this bag and I have no idea what the difference is apart from the colours have changed. I noticed you had a comfort plus xt sleep mat on a cot bed. That’s the comfiest mat ever but it’s very heavy. What are your thoughts on it.

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  Před 19 dny

      The fabrics are a little different. I also had the previous one too. I don't recall that previous gen having the quilt clips.
      Yes, that XT pad is really good. The dual chambers is unique and makes it super comfy. It's more bulk than I'd like, but I'll carry it on short weekend trips, especially if I am base camping and not really moving.

    Nice features. Expensive. Heavy. Once again the zipper(s) are on the sides. I make my bags with a long zipper on the top/center. Think about it. Need to bent? Slide the top/center zipper down. Get in or out from left or right side? Easy. Manufactures. Please figure this out.

    • @BackcountryExposure

      I've tried a couple of bags with center zips and I wasn't a fan of them.

    • @tomlovesdiy

      @@BackcountryExposure I haven't seen them. Why not a fan? What brands? thanks

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  Před 19 dny

      @@tomlovesdiy Outdoor Vitals and Mountain Hardwear have had them. I would get cold coming through the zipper if the draft tube wasn’t sitting right. The zipper also requires two draft tubes instead of one, and it’s more fabric for the zipper to get caught in. I also found the zipper pull at my face to be uncomfortable when closing the hood up for cold nights.

    • @tomlovesdiy
      @tomlovesdiy Před 18 dny

      @@BackcountryExposure I understand. Improperly insulated zippers in any location let in a lot of cold. When I make my bags (top/center zip) I fill the baffle with Climachield, SOL emergency blanket and down. The small Climashield batt helps keep a good coverage. Its noty sewn through and is about 4 inches wide. A few velcro tabs keep it in place. The zipper doesn't go all the way up. Stops a couple inches from the top. The top is closed with a velcro strap. I don't like zipper pulls against my face. Creepy tickle... Really appreciate your channel and that you engage with your viewers. Thanks. Tom
