Austin was doing musical theater on a cruise ship when Home Free was also performing on said ship. They loved his voice, and Austin loved them. He told them to call him if they had an opening. The rest is history. One thing I heard on one of the live videos…Austin stated that he wanted to perform with them after seeing them do “Little Red Riding Hood”, and also that he loved Rob’s voice.
I think what I like so much about this version of Bring Him Home is the emotion in Austin’s voice. Great reaction!
What a talent, and a fine young man to boot!!
Austin could have a legitimate lead vocal career on Broadway & the West End in London
This sky high belting tenor can do all genres. Kudos to Sébastien for the greatest of accompaniment.
Austin is really stretching his wings with his solo channel.
All members of Home Free could be solo artists.
Austjn, Tim and Chance have dropped some really good content for us. Wish Rob would do the same but he has his Avid Indoorsmen and Adam has his Dungeon and Dragons outlet. How fortunate for us that they come together as Home Free.
This was Austin's masterpiece for me! 🥰
He's had done some musical theatre in the past and he was trained to lose the accent and I believe he could defiantly be on Broadway with that pure dynamic voice of his, but he's happy to be singing with Home Free where he can keep that little bit of twang in him and it fits right in, but it is so cool to see him sing without it too. All of the singers in Home Free are so versatile and that's why they can sing most anything and do it amazingly well.
Austin has said that while he doesn't want to leave Home Free, he would also like to go back to musical theatre if the opportunity came along. He also has to think of the future. Btw he hasn't done "some" musical theatre but has graduated with a degree in it, which involves a full classical training.
Instant goosebumps! Austin is phenomenal and so is the guy behind the piano.
Seen Les Miserables 2x on Broadway and here's those goosebumps once again. Well done Austin. Your voice is perfect for this.
Me also. Brought me to tears
That brought tears to my eyes. When god calls these men home they will be singing for the Angels. We are blessed to enjoy their voices now.
They already are singing for the angels. 🥰🙏
His DANNY BOY had me in tears after one line. Incredible performer
as a senior citizen now i appreciate this song a lot more. all parents say this prayer for their children when they are out in the world and not nearby -- please bring them home. thank you for the reaction austin does a fabulous version love it
That was very beautiful. Austin has a great voice for musical theatre songs. Glad all the guys have creative outlets for solo projects. But as much as I enjoy all their solo stuff, my favorites are still when they are all together as a group as Home Free with Adam Rupp. And I hope that never changes.
As horrible as the pandemic has been, Home Free used this time wisely! They've all got their side projects that have really stirred their creative flow. I think Home Free is stronger and more cohesive than ever. And even though they've all had new found success in their solo and friend projects, they've all said they don't have any plans to leave Home Free. So we get the best of both worlds! 🤗❤
Austin graduated from Oklahoma City University. Many of their graduates are on Broadway. They have an amazing vocal music department. (I wanted to go there so bad, but Dad said no.)
Austin was classically trained, and did a lot of musical theater. He spent years training to get his southern drawl, and when he joined Home Free they asked him if he could go back to using his accent, and the rest is history.
Austin's voice is something out of his world. I know he can do Broadway and blow away our minds with it.
I'd like to see him perform "Gethsemane" from JCS .Only few singers can take that dare, but I'm quite sure he would kill it.
One of my favorite guys wearing one of my favorite shirts! Then my favorite high tenor Austin singing one of the favorite songs he does! What can be better today? And you look so great with your eyes wide, wide open and your jaw dropped to the floor while he sings! I've always loved him doing the live performance with Home Free of this, but then he came along and decided we needed more, better, incredible and did this with Sebastian! What a guy Austin is! Take care Travis, liked seeing you smiling and enjoying today! (yes I've shed some tears over Austin singing before and this one is quite stunning!)
Awesome performance. Thanks for your reaction.
Pure AWESOMENESS…I adore his voice & Yes‼️… BEAUTIFULLY AMAZING…..grabs my soul Every Time ‼️❤️‼️
Mind blowing skills on display !!!! Just a wonderful ending departing from the STAGE ARIA IDEOLOGY .... and Great. GBjj
Travissssssss, this cover was EVERYTHINGGGGGG, right??!!! 😮💨🥲
BREATHTAKING!
@@TeaTimeWithTravis breath 👏🏼 taking 👏🏼
It was all in his locked mind blown face! 😳 🥰
Great reaction! Austin Brown perfection!!! It's insane how talented he is!! Thank you for your reaction!
There's so much soul and so much hope and trust and pain and authenticity in his voice that it just grips a hold of me from the first note. I've seen him since this love with Home Free, 6 years ago, and it was stunning, but his voice and the depth of which he reaches into his soul has evolved so very much since. I hope he gets to go on Broadway at some point if he chooses to.
Again worked really hard in college to get rid of his Southern accent. He got some of it back over years, but who cares. I don't and I don't think we should be so strict about this like that anyway when it's a song out of context.
Great reaction, Travis! Thank you! 🥰🙏
Austin does a good job, but Alfie Boe is incredible (and my favorite) with this song. He makes it more of a prayer
@@joanpoates4620 One of my favourite things about Austin's rendition is that he doesn't make into too much of a prayer, he also has the knowingness of someone who trusts in his God, just as the song tells in the very beginning. It's not just a prayer of despair to me, it's also about the faith and that's what I feel Austin portrays better than anyone. We all interpret everything uniquely so e each have our own very personal interpretations. There's no wrong it right. Austin is to me the best singer I've ever come across and he's still very much evolving. Not only because of his voice and skills as such, but because he sings with his soul and it speaks to me. So, to me there's no comparison and also no need to compare.
Love your reactions. Austin did musical performance and worked hard to lose his accent. The group actually asked him to bring it back. I wish I could give him 2 thumbs up because this was so beautiful. He is so great!
Awwwh, thank you!
Breath taking.... he outdid himself here.
Austin is amazing. There is nothing he can't do! Love your reaction!
Austin is soooo good. I would love to hear him release a solo project of musical theater or gospel. Yes he is so good he could really be on Broadway, but I would love to see him on a country Christmas show on TV. I believe he lives in Nashville so anything is possible for him, the sky is the limit.
Beautiful! Brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Thank you!
The control Austin has over his voice is amazing. His breathing and how he sustains the notes and his annunciation... Wow!
Insane !!!
my mama's daddy was drafted in to WWII when he was 34 years old. He was killed in Germany in a tank, buried in France, leaving behind 3 dauhters, 5, 3 and 1 years old, and this song REALLY touched my soul. My grandmother told me she always said "bring him home" but she never forgot the day men in military outfits brought her the letter saying her husband had died in war. I still have his purple heart, other badges and a sword he got from Japan. Sorry to ramble, but war is USELESS. This song Austin version, is hauntingly beautiful
Have you heard Home Free do Brothers In Arms?
It is the best, most respectful, and poignant song honoring the soldiers lost to war.
@@barbarakennedy2667 yes, that is also a very beautiful song, honoring our Veterans.
Love the reaction! Austin was planning to head to Broadway when he wrapped up his final cruise contract, based upon a couple interviews I've watched. The encounter with Home Free on board ship came at just the right moment to send his life down a different path.
If he wants a chance at Broadway I hope he gets that, but I sure am glad that right now he is with Home Free. When these 5 guys perform they make Magic !!! Sure dont wnat that to end, I hope that the chance he and Chance and Tim have had to release solo music keeps working well and we lots of Home Free music and touring !!!! I have seen them live in concert 7 times and I dont have words how great of an experience that is !!
Thank all the gods and goddesses for that. Broadway will still be there for him in the future I'm sure, but we love him right where he is now, with Home Free, and with Sebastian, and with Amberly doing The Beauty and the Bass and all the other plans they have together.
@@terrichristenson432 Seven times? Well, I guess I'm striving to catch up. Saw them in Victoria in May and have tickets for shows at the end of July and mid-September. I'll see what comes up for Christmas and 2023.
I've watched this video (counting reactions) over 2 dozen times by now with no inkling of tiring of it, and I have tears in my eyes by that last wonderful high note every time. That's the most beautiful I've ever heard Austin sing. Watching you hear this for the first time was a treat. Your jaw dropped, your eyes widened and I'm sitting here going "yep, yeah, I'm right with you there." thanks for reacting to this. And yeah, you could be a cousin maybe? ;-D
What you said !! You took the words right out of my mouth !! I've also been watching others reacting to this song and Austin. I loved his jaw dropping reaction. I think it's how we all reacted the first time we heard Austin sing Bring him home !!
This is just stunning. Les Mis is one of my favourite musicals and he puts so much emotion in this. That last note 🔥
This is so beautiful and makes me cry every time I hear it. Austin voice is incredible.
As much as I love all the guys from Home Free, I do believe Austin is my favorite singer in the business today.
Your face is expressing what all of us feel - remember, he went to college for music theater, so they helped him train his instrument. Great reaction! Oh, and that last note - is not the one from the musical.
So beautiful and thank you again for your reactions to our Home Free Guys.
Perfection once again from Austin!
I went to see Les Mis the musical about 5 times here in Australia and cried every time hearing this song....But here I am crying again hearing Austin's rendition of this emotional song. I think he brings a little less theatrics to the song than the stage shows. Such a compassionate plea to God on high. Shout out to his pianist Sebastien for a gentle accompaniment. Travis I just love how 'real' you are with your 'reaction' love your honesty and your beautiful heart.
blows me away every time ❤️🏴
Love you Travis and love your reaction to this amazing Austin performance. Have a blessed week end!
🔥🔥🔥🔥INSANE TALENT 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for the reaction Travis! Les Miserable is one of my favorite musicals and I got to see them on the 25th anniversary and Austin is always amazing. Hopefully, we will see him on Broadway one day.
That last note….goodness! Yeah my favorite solo by him. He’s incredible and you do look like you could be related. Ha! It’s from Les Miserables. Such a beautiful song. 😃
Always enjoy some Home Free with you my friend. 🥰
Simply beautiful!!!!
That was super pretty! ❤️
Just no words. ❤️
To me that was better than what Collabro did! I agree it was insane😮 great reaction 🎉I love Home Free😊
Travis thank you for doing this. I agree with you 100%. I am in tears right now. That was not just crazy that was stunning. Thanks again.
I always love your reactions, but I don't think I've ever seen you so mesmerized and still before. This is definitely a special piece of work that deserves the recognition that it's gotten by everyone that's reacted on their channels and in the comment sections! Such a wonderful reaction! ❤
This version always makes me cry 😢
Love this cover
As much as I love Austin with Home Free (I hope he never leaves them!) I think the stuff he releases on his own channel is so much better! We get to see more shades of Austin when it's just him singing. I think the same of Tim (can't remember if you've reacted to the doo wop singles he's released on his channel, but if you haven't, I hope you do because they're great) and Geoff from VoicePlay (I think you may have reacted to one or two of his "solo" songs, but I could be wrong about that). When all these guys are part of a group, they have to do certain parts, but when it's just one of them in a solo performance, we see them in a new light! Anyways, there is a live version of this song that Home Free did when Austin was a newer member than he is now. You can react to it or just watch it on your own time, but he's awesome there, too. I do think this video on Austin's channel is better, but that's partly due to Austin getting better over time and the fact that the previous version is live in front of a lot of people. Great reaction, as always, Travis!
I also heard that he was sick when he sang that live!
@@MyLorissa
Oh, that would explain certain things about that performance!
@@MyLorissa... I've read that several times too. And I loved Home Free backing him on that rendition too. It is just another sign of just how very versatile they are. That they don't fit in any 1 box, they fit in all of them.
@@chrismorin1318
Well, they only became a "country" group for the Sing-Off. Before that, they were much more varied in the genres they covered. Kind of like now. As much as I like their country sound, it's really mostly fitting for Austin and Tim (Chance to a certain degree, too). Adam and Rob don't really seem to have a particular genre they fit into (I guess you could say soul, R&B, and/or pop for Rob)
omg you gotta do their new song they just put out for valentines day
Such control❤
Another brilliant singer is Chord Overstreet doing Hold On. The acoustic version brings me to tears every single time. Another recommendation is Reuben and The Dark singing Hallelujah (not Leonard Cohen's). It is so unique just like the singer. You really need to both these two. You will not be disappointed.
Incredible voice on one of my favorite songs from Les Miserable. I would love you to react to Vanessa Williams cover of Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas. Her voice is pure butter.
Austin has done this before live on stage with Home Free. You can find it here on CZcams 2014 - 2016 filmed from a fan. Truly enjoy watching your reaction to this guy, he is absolutely phenomenal.
The only problem with that is it’s a bit hard to hear.
Austin's voice has come a long way since then, has matured and 'settled. He's also filled out (looks like those workouts had an effect!) so that his voice is more resonant, with a lovely vibrato. In the live performance most often shown, he had a cold and congestion, and was a little 'pitchy' as a result.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for reacting to this - it is breathtakingly beautiful! Have you listened to Tim Foust's version of 'Can't Help Falling in Love'? It is amazing too, I am sure you will love it. The Home Free guys are my favourites..... second only to PTX! ;)
I love this song and his rendition of it is awesome. If you like a good tenor voice, might I recommend David Phelps. I would suggest " Oh Holy Night" He sang it when touring with the Gaither vocal band. Enjoy.
Le Mis musical.🥰
Who else wants a Home Free does Broadway?
Austin spent years ridding himself of his twang, when Home Free asked if he could bring it back and join the band!
Les Mis is correct.
To the maker of this video:are you interested in reacting to Austin Brown singing this same song for a second time? If yes, this time could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Austin Brown singing Bring him home again vs David Phelps also singing his cover version of Bring him home live at the legacy of love concert at the Alabama theatre in Birmingham? In this video i would love to hear your opinion as to which of these two singers sang this song the best and why (David Phelps or Austin Brown? This should be heavenly.
I know a woman who still can sing this song perfect: Barbra Strisand, and in her younger time, this would be a perfect song for her voice.
there is a cellphone video of doing this with the Home Free boys prolly 2016? Honestly, its maybe better with the background harmony. when the sum is greater than its parts!!!
I agree he could have a great career, not least because he is also a talented actor. But he doesn't at present seem to be very ambitious, and says he is very happy with Home Free and a further income from his patrons. He has even said that if HF collapses, he would be happy to go back to the cruise ships, which can hardly be what Amberly would want or would now satisfy him artistically. Trouble is, HF tours about 200 days a year + rehearsals and recordings, so he can't do much else. And unfortunately in the music business and in theatre, nobody comes looking for you - you've got to go out there into the market and sell your talent, which Austin doesn't want to do.
Are you going to react to Austin and Rob singing Nessum Dorma? I think you really have to🤷♀️
If he wants to go on broad way he has a right to his choices, but then essentially our beloved Home Free will be gone. The Home Fries will be decimated, absolutely gutted.
That is so true, he and Tim have both said they wont leave Home Free, and we just have to hope and pray they stay just like it is.
@@terrichristenson432 I don't think it's right that we should hope and pray that a young man reaching his full powers as a singer should not take any opportunities that present. I love HF but Austin has the right to bring his gifts to a wider audience.
You have got to react to him singing this song with the rest of Home Free. It is phenomenal. Here's the link: czcams.com/video/ftGEzzB2rJ4/video.html
no need to say anything
